Eclipse - creating a .cod file plug-in

I recently did a lot of bluetooth development and since I can't do this on a simulator, I built and project deployment using loader.exe to a phone. I noticed that, when I build a project Eclipse does not generate the .cod file until I have try a 'Run As... '. "and it points to a simulator.

This is the expected behavior? I think a cleanup and generation should generate a new .cod file.

I also noticed that I must keep re-sign cod. Is it possible to apply a signature always at the level of the project so that it the re - sign each time that I build it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It has a nice shortcut of Alt + B

    Hi Marc,

Please note that our tools need JDK6 (latest version is fine) and it must be 32-bit.

As for the previous post, we will eliminate ripple of the equation for a moment. Just waving calls the command line, so if we do follow the work in the command line, shoulud to ripple. Can you please:
-ZIP your project folder (so your config.xml is originally from the zipper).
-Copy your ZIP file in your folder SDK WebWorks (i.e. same folder as bbwp.)
-Open a command prompt and navigate to the folder SDK WebWorks.
-From the command prompt, run the script: bbwp MyApp.zip

  • where is the COD file

Hi as you can see from the title, I can't find the file .cod from the application of load on the real device.

I use eclipse IDE version 3.5. All I can find in the folder of the workspace is .alx file in the following directory:

    C:\Users\***\workspace\HelloWorld\deliverables\Standard\

I look at all the folder within the workspace directory and found nothing but the .class and .java files.

How to create the .cod file?

Construction of as much as I KNOW is simply compiling your project...

But packaging and even debug your project the deployable project on the device...

Now the project is deployable with the help of:

    . COD

    .alx files

    .jad

    .jar

files... If these files are generated on the packaging or debug the project...

One last thing, I would say, check your antivirus settings, maybe it is intended to prevent the creation of these executable files.

  • JAD params of the reading of the JAD file that is changed after the cod file is built?

    Hello

We have a requirement in which, you must change the jad file, after the cod file is generated.

But when I try to do is not able to read the newly added params to MIDlet.getAppProperty() . He can read the jad attributes that were there in the jad file before creating the cod file.

    Example:

existing JAD has "KeyA" whose value is "A." Now package for the project and generate the blah.cod file

Add a parameter more "KeyNew" with the value "ValueNew.

    Print the source MIDlet.getAppProperty("KeyA") andMIDlet.getAppProperty("KeyNew")

    Step 1. Existing.jad

    KeyA: A.

    Step 2. Build the cod

Step 3. Add another parameter to Existing.jad

    KeyA: A.

    KeyNew: ValueNew

Step 4. Existing.jad of charge using javaloader.

    load Javaloader u Existing.jad

    Step 5. Run the application

Actual output: it prints only a. and not ValueNew

I read that this is possible in JDE 4.3 + and I'm working on JDE 5.0

    Help, please.

    ~ Joey

Apparently it only works if we install the Jad with Javaloader file. Having an installation OTA of the Jad file works.

  • Eclipse create .jad and .cod files

According to the documentation I've seen, OTA installation from a Web site is to place the files application.jad and application.cod on a server to direct the BlackBerry device to this location.  My preliminary test indicate that it works as advertised.

However, I find that Eclipse creates an application.jad file that references a request file - 1.cod, but at the same time only creates the file application.cod.  Of course, when the device will the url and inspects the .jad file, it tries to find the file application - 1.cod!

What is causing this to happen and how I fix without manually open the .jad file and inspect everything I want to publish?

    Thank you

    Ouch!

I looked at me directory and of course, the cod file was more than 64K.  If you tell me that once it is greater than 64K isn't really a cod file, but in fact a zip file?  To deploy, I need to decompress the file and place the actual cod files in my site url?

I was skeptical, but it seems to be as you described.

Thank you for sharing this tidbit.

Yes, I'll admit, a matter of n00b but nevertheless.  I searched for how to do for one or two hours now and need help please.  I am new to Java and Eclipse, well, and Blackberry development so help would be great!

I have an application that essentially pulls a web site and authenticates users seamlessly.  The problem is, how do I create a JAD file for install OTA?  It's something I'm not familiar with that.  I have the COD and JAR files...

    Thank you!!!

Is the JAD not in your folder "Standard"?

Right-click on the project, the blackberry, the load on the device project.
    Or alt + shift + E, L

You can also use the desktopmanager with the alx created in the folder of expected results.
or use javaloader for quick and simple command line access

  • Quickie: Write to the file measure VI, how to create the new file?

I use the writing on measurement file express VI in my code and I plugged into it a control that sets the location where to save the file of measure

The only problem is that the file of measure must exist first! I cant for example, from the Control Panel, click the directory to browse box, navigate to a folder and type a name for the file. It just says: file not found! It's like the control file directory opens a file to save in, rather than creating a new file to this location

    How can I solve this?

  • The OTA installation and large. COD files

Hi, I'm new to the Blackberry development. I am developing a small image editing app for Blackberry and planning to distribute them using my site (OTA). The problem is that my .cod file size is about 500 KB. I've searched the forums and some suggested to break large cod in several smaller files of the Cod. But exactly how do I do this? Thank you

All you need to do is open the COD file in a program like WinZip archive and extract the files.  It's just a zip of the rest of your COD files.  Note that the cod inside firstsibling file will have the same name as the parent COD file, so make sure that extract you it in a different directory.  If you use the BlackBerry Java plug-in for Eclipse, all you need to do is deploy the files in the directory JAD.

You can read a bit more info on that here: the limit file size of wireless downloads

  • Cannot add properties of jad for the compatibility mode for the COD file metadata.

    Hi all.

I need to disable the application that are installed compatibility mode using the ALX file. I read in an another messages it is possible to add custom file JAD directly properties in the COD file. I tried to create test projects using Blackberry JDE, Blackberry Eclipse plugin generation tools and use Eclipse with ant. Then I tried to add a JAD file for projects and by adding the following properties:

    RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode: false
    RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode-UserChangeable: true

Also I tried specifying the properties of this:

    RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode: 0
    RIM-TouchCompatibilityMode-UserChangeable: 1

But it seems that it does not help to automatically avoid compatibility mode for applications that are built using JDE4.2.1 or earlier. I ran the test on Storm 9530 camera with 5.0.0.32 8 preinstalled JDE. I also wipe my phone several times to avoid the capabilities that the compatibility mode settings is saved.

In addition, before installing the application I also checked this jar file compatibility mode properties which was built contained in this manifesto.

Please, anobody can advise which go bad. Or it seems that there is no possibility to implement the solution that are built with the JDE at first then 4.7 and are installed using the ALX file.

I never could get this job.

Sorry, don't know what the deal is.

  • Huge. COD file suddenly

    Hello

I am in a process of developing a USER interface very rich based Blackberry app. The .cod file was about 2.5 MB, but the last time that I have compiled, it went stright 4.5 MB. I haven't added any resource (images etc.) just added a few classes.

But I changed the location of my resources; previously I've added images of "The Blackberry project properties" using eclipse, but I discovered that is the wrong way to do it, then removed from there and add them under folder "src".

It has happened that the .cod file suddnely expands then after awhile when compiled... back to normal size... but this time I am not able to arrive at a reasonable size.

Please help me if I'm doing something wrong here.

    Thanks in advance,

    Afzal

One of my friends found the problem. It seems that the plugin Eclipse JDE included all SVN files in the. COD file! then exported and created a different workspace... He came up to 1 MB!

  • The optional .cod files sign very well but do not have those required?

I am really baffled by this one. I installed signing keys, and it seems that something is wrong. First I tried to sign my .cod in Eclipse. I copied the file sigtool.csk to there and it seemed to work for the signing of some of them, but it failed for a handful of .cod files. Either way, I see no details why those failed, or no matter what newspaper.

Then I tried in the JDE and got similar results. Is there anything else I should do differently? I would have posted a screenshot, but it seems that you can not attach files that are not urls here.

NVM, I created a fresh workspace for other reasons and I can sign correctly in Eclipse now.

  • Executable cannot find the custom error code file

I'm building a LabVIEW 2013 application on a Windows 7 computer and deploying it to a Windows XP computer. My application has a custom error code file, stored in -- errors.txt, but my executable on the Windows XP machine can't find the custom error file and returns only the string of appeal for all errors that occur.

When you use is not an installer, I tried to copy the error code at all locations listed here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/6077DBEDA4F9FEE3862571F600449501 but the application still does not load the custom errors. I have the box checked to "Error Codes customized Include" in the construction specifications.

When an executable of construction and the development of Windows 7 to XP, where do I put the custom error code file? It is found in Program Files (x 86), but find not because it's XP?

It's been a few months that I posted this question and I do not know if someone cares about this track, but the solution I found was to put the custom in error code file \National Instruments\Shared\Errors\English\

There are other places that the runtime will look for the custom error codes (I tried all the ones listed above), if the same error codes exist in 2 places the error popup will appear two error messages. Error default 1, it looks like:

LabVIEW: An input parameter is not valid. For example if the input is a path, the path can contain a character not allowed by the operating system such as? or @.
    =========================
NOR-488: Command requires GPIB controller charge controller.

So if you have a custom error code file and it is available in 2 places that LabVIEW RTE check error codes, you will get the same message before and after the =.

List the error as "still included" file when building the executable or by checking the box to include files in error did not tour, obviously. Unless you create a Setup program to distribute the application, the error code file must be moved manually. Shared\Errors file works best for me because it's a place that makes sense.

Also, don't worry - it doesn't me taken 5 months to understand this point, I do not update all my loyal followers (ha) with a solution.
