  When I try to any operation in editing mode (including get just using 'Edit PDF') I get the message "Adobe Acrobat DC has encountered an unknown error.

  When I try the workaround "Print to PDF" I get the error "the document could not be printed. The document is not protected, and I am able to print to an outside printer.

  What is the issue and what is the solution?

  Please let me know the version of the operating system installed on your computer?

  If you are on the windows computer, please open Acrobat DC, go to the Help menu and repair the installation.

  In earlier versions of Acrobat Pro, I could highlight the text, and the delete key would be barred. Now in XI who doesn't seem to work.

  HA - found! It's the little 't' with a star at the end of the Annotations - once you select that & check all boxes, you can use delete on strikethrough text.

  Do not use the comments. Use the editing tool.

  As I said, this is not possible with Adobe Acrobat - at least not without help. The Enfocus PitStop plug-ins for Acrobat (it's a 3rd party product) can make some changes in batches, and he may be able to remove the watermark - as long as you can describe (in terms of PitStop) how the watermark can be identified.

  But I discovered that if I select Customize it drop down and set it to the default value, then the Tools menu reappears.  He must have changed "Comment & markup" previously which does not include tools.

  The space between each 'progress/strategies' increasing needs. A text field is under each of them. If it's a Word doc, I could just press on enter. What is the best way to do this with Adobe Acrobat Pro DC?

  There is no easy way to do it. You need to move the text fields more apart and if there are static elements, then you will need to use the tool edit text & Images to move them, separately.

  I saw this question several times when you are looking for a response, but none of the solutions have worked for me. I have been using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (15.4) for months to edit and comment on PDF documents that I printed and then saved as a PDF file to an online mapping system. Until today, I was able to use the shortcut CTRL + E to bring up the properties toolbar and change the properties for the text boxes, call outs etc., including the font properties. It is in mode 'Commentary'.

  I am now only able to change the properties of a text box - if I select the text itself all the properties in the toolbar are greyed out.

  I tried:

  • Closing and reopening the program
  • With only a single document at a time
  • Ensure the document is not read only or PDF/A
  • Ending the process of "acrotray" (I think that's what it was called)
  • Opening of a previous document when I was able to change the font properties - can do it on any document, old or new, now
  • Checking the properties are not "locked."
  • Verification I have user rights on MS Edge (the mapping system used only works on here, not IE)
  • Updates of the program

  A point that is no accident, that's when I started this work several months ago I set all of the default values that I need them and them have not changed at all, until last week. Doubtful that it is causing the problem but worth a mention anyway.

  Help, please! I need to solve this problem as soon as POSSIBLE in order to do my job!

  We have released an update today which solves the problem of the properties toolbar and now you can continue to use it outside of the app commenting as well. Please open Acrobat or Reader DC and visit help > check for updates to ensure that you are on the latest patch.
