Moroccoin Playbook Simulator

I'm working on an application that will provide an Explorer of files of the user so that they can select a photo from their device to use in my application. I've got the broser file to work, but there are no files available in the Simulator to test the selection process. Is it possible I can simulate on the Playbook Simulator files so that I can test my application.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

You could write a BitmapData object to file as a jpeg (jpeg image search, and there is another post where someone gave me some links to the source for a jpeg encoder) and the load.

I know that you can also ssh in the book of real game as devuser which I think will allow you to transfer a file in. You can try to do the same thing on the Simulator.

Yes.  Currently the BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator can be used only to test custom air applications.

  • The difficulty to launch android applications reconditioned on device PlayBook (Simulator OK)

Just updated my android app and it passed verification.  I will install on my PlayBook, and it won't start.

The application works on the new 2.0 PlayBook Simulator very well, but when I go to install on the current device, it installs, but will not start.

I tried without success (all these I tried both USB and WiFi connection) the following:

    • Restart the PlayBook after the 2.0 update (several times)
    • Signature of the bar and the deployment using command-line tools
    • Do not sign the bar and deployment via command line tools (after configuring Debug token)
    • Deployment by using the new eclipse plugin - is to expire, I have even increased the time-out value of 60 seconds and much more), it gets stuck on "Launch BlackBerry Android Runtime."... ", then a message that says" failed to connect ├a 192.168.1.139 to BAD! »

Also, I'm under Mac OSX Lion and v2.0.0.3778 PlayBook.

  • Problem adding Playbook Simulator to Eclipse

Last night, I downloaded VMWare and the current version of the Playbook Simulator.  The Simulator works very well and I went into the settings and enabled debugging and confirmed the IP address in the security settings.  I also install the password.  My problem is when I go into Eclipse to add the Simulator.  I tried to make debugging and preferences.  I first tried the automatic detection, but he was unable to find it.  I then he entered manually with the IP address and the password, but it does not work as well.  I tried with both the Simulator runs also with stop you it, and same result.  Also, I tried to ping the ip address from a command prompt so that the Simulator was running and failed.  Thinking it could be a firewall issue, temporarily, I disabled my firewall and antivirus but get the same result.  I also tried a reboot of my PC with no luck.  I'm out of ideas and would welcome any advice I can get.

    Thank you!

I realized what the problem was.  We won't have the IP address in the settings menu.  On the home screen there is an icon that you can click on that will tell you it's in development mode and it will give you the real IP address.  Hope this helps someone else who had the same problem.

  • PlayBook Simulator does not start in vmware.

I had just installed sdk playbook and Simulator on windows 7 and configure the Simulator on vmware.

But the playbook Simulator does not start on vmware... He simply display the splash screen...

Do you have another computer to try out it?

For example, in my case, I have 3 PC. Two of them the Simulator installed and worked well, the third, no matter what I do I can't get the Simulator to go beyond the start screen.

I even took a suspended version of the Simulator everywhere for my 3rd machine, and it has run for a little while so locked up when I tried to activate the mode of development. However, VMWare works perfectly for other sims installed on this machine (but with VMTools installed in the virtual machine), then it is not a VMWare question by itself.

Personally, I think that unfortunately for certain combinations of hardware/OS simulator simply does not work.

FWIW my 3rd machine is underpowered with only 2 GB of ram, an Intel ATOM (z520) processor and a GMA 500 GPU which are pushed along Windows 7.

  • creating files on playbook Simulator

    Hello

Is there a way to create files and the folder structure on the playbook Simulator and access via software, our application stores files on the Simulator and access them, so we can do?

You have access to directories in the application sandbox as the main "shared" area that will contain the files for videos, music... etc.

  • BlackBerry Playbook Simulator ISO 2.0

Is there an ISO for the 2.0 playbook Simulator file?  I try to install on VirtualBox that my computer cannot run the latest version of vmware Player.

    Thank you.

Why not just try? Which will give you an answer more reliable than to go really what anyone else. As I said, I thought the Simulator had previously worked with VirtualBox, but I am not certain about it.

  • Configure the playbook Simulator

    Hello

I just downloaded the playbook Simulator and I see it's a vmx file. I have to pay for a license of VMWare?

You'll need VMWare Fusion on Mac. It requires the license.
VMWare Player is free for a personal use but Windows only.

  • Debugging on Playbook Simulator

    Hello

I use the last PlayBook Simulator (for Mac), VMWare Fusion 4.1, 3.7, Java 1.6 Eclipse, latest BlackBerry Plugins for Android development in Eclipse and all on OS X Lion 10.7.3.

Now: whenever I try to launch my application on the Simulator, Eclipse shows me:

    [Problem Occured]
'Launching MyAPP' has encountered a problem.
    null

Anyone have an idea on how to solve this problem or at least where to get more information?

    ~ Chris

OK, the problem was: Eclipse was running under Java 1.6, although the system "by default" JRE was 1.7.

To change the default JRE on a Mac, open the 'Java preferences' (for example via spotlight).

  • PlayBook Simulator included in the SDK WebWorks for Mac does not start

Hi, I downloaded and installed the WebWorks BlackBerry SDK for Tablet OS for Mac from http://us.blackberry.com/developers/tablet/webworks.jsp . I have VMWare Fusion installed 3.1.2. I used the beta3 .iso Installer to create a virtual machine, and it worked very well. Open the bbwp/blackberry-tablet-sdk/BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator-1.0.1/BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator.vmx file load VMWare Fusion and adds a virtual machine named "BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator" in my VM library. When I try to 'turned on' virtual machine, nothing happens. The power seems to be on for two seconds and turns off the virtual machine. I can't find all the lines from log in Console.app. the 'Virtual Machine'-> 'Force Start Up' menu is no help either. I download the stand-alone "BlackBerry PlayBook Simulator for Mac", that is also marked v1.0.1 but I am not optimistic if it is delivered as a set of folders VMware. Please do not make me run the PlayBook Simulator in a virtual Windows XP machine!

    Hi jaschroe,

Try to manually copy the folder BlackBerryPlayBookSimulator - 1.0.1 to another location on your Mac and then try to open this copy of the VMX file in VMware Fusion. (No need to re - install).

  • Sencha Touch not displaying icons only not the Playbook Simulator

I see this weird problem. I wrote a simple Webworks app using Sencha Touch. It works fine on the desktop browser. However, on the Playbook Simulator, I see a few flaws. For example the standard icons not displayed. See the pictures attached to the difference:

    On the Playbook Simulator:

    On the desktop browser:

I know that's not a consolation, but when I tried the latest version of PlayBook on the physical hardware toolbar buttons work fine.

I ran through the example of the kitchen sink and everything is made perfect!

So know that your problem will be solved in the official v1.0 RTM software version and Simulator.

  • PlayBook Simulator not able to access the internet

    Hello

I'm trying to get the Playbook Simulator running to repackage an app, but I'm unable to get the Simulator to connect to the internet.  The browser refuses to connect and just displays a message indicating:

    Error
    A network error has occurred.
    Please try again later.

I tried some things, like change network card settings in VMware default (NAT) to Bridged and then restarting the virtual machine, but that did nothing. I tried to remove the virtual computer's network card, and then by adding a new.  I disabled the Norton Internet Security firewall and intrusion prevention.  I have disabled the Windows Firewall.  None of this solves the problem.

I use a Windows 7 laptop connected to a wireless network.  No VPN or proxy is in use.  Windows 7 network adapters screen shows two cards VMware, vmnet1 and vmnet8, both connected to an 'unidentified network'.  I tried to fill these my PC wireless cards, but the VMware adapter did not allow that and threw an error.

    Any suggestions?

Some basics: Verify there is an IP address on vmnet8. Verify that you can ping your host operating system.

If it still does not work, cut the developer mode (on-> them security), then try again the browser. Yes, I know it sounds counterintuitive, but it worked for me.

You can re - switch to developer mode, once you have turned it off and it seems fine. You don't quite know why this is happening, but it might be useful to take a VM snapshot once you've cracked.

    Good luck!

  • How buggy is the Playbook Simulator?

It seems most of the things I write are causing problems with the Playbook Simulator.

I tend to write most of the content of the page HTML from JQuery

The simplest things can cause the Simulator to die

    An example...

If (Debug) $("#debuglog").append ("attempt to display " "+ sp +")
    ");

Here, I'm just writing for a div called debuglog so I can see what is happening - sp is a page that I just shot locally via Ajax - must write errors, it's the only way to debug a page.

Answer to myself for the benefit of third parties

Buried in the forums, you will find a thread on the Playbook having problems with JQuery 1.5.1

The solution is simple - downgrade to 1.5.0 or 1.5.2 upgrade when it comes out

It took me a week to find out what was wrong. All my applications now work simply by changing to 1.5.0

While the browsers work very well with 1.5.1 the Playbook Simulator is not

  • Debug with FlashBuilder 4.5 and Playbook simulator mode

I use falshBuilder 4.5 and the last Playbook Simulator (July 2011).

I am able to run the application on the Simulator. However, when I use the Debug mode, I get error on the Simulator as well as on the FlashBuilder. On the playibook Simulator, it says unable to connect.

I use the IP address of the Simulator (like RUN works very well). Also I use debug by default IP configuration of the host defined in the Debug configuration.

Has anyone faced similar problem. Something else must be set for this?

    Thank you.

    Hi all

Finally I got it to work. I was using the wrong host debug after changing IP right it started working.

Also note approach default host IP and debug also did not work. This is FYI.

    Thank you.
