  The issue was that somehow directory for obtained import defined users - it was more my images. If everyone who rejected the LR error ("could not read files") was on the right track. It can read files fine, but he could not write.  And of course, LR does not and should not have write permissions in the Users directory.

  I'm trying to import pictures on my iPhone on my iMac (or MacBook Pro) 6. However, when I plug my iPhone to a computer, more than a year of photos are not recognized for the import either by application.   If your iPhone is synchronized with iCloud photo library, you cannot import photos from your iPhone, that is to say, if your iPhone is using the option "optimize storage. Then the photos may not be on your iPhone, but only in iCloud, and the iPhone takes only smaller, optimized versions.

  To be able to import the iPhone by USB, you must make sure, that all photos have been uploaded to the iPhone in full resolution, with "Optimize storage" disabled, if your iPhone has enough storage to allow.

  Otherwise use iCloud photo library to download pictures on your Mac.

  I am running iPhoto 9.5.1 and due to the large amount of photos that I take and trying to stay organized, I have multiple iPhoto libraries. I'm in a situation where I have pictures on a card of the camera, which belong to two different libraries. When I opened one, I see all of the available import photos (as I have never imported it none of them, but want to import some of them). When I opened another library, I see some already imported and some available import (as I already imported some). At this point, I want to delete only on the map, those that were imported, so that when I open the first library, the only photos showing import, are those who are new and have never been imported in the previous library. A bit complicated, I know, but I will not reproduce in several libraries. So my question... when I see the line of photos already imported into iPhoto, is there a way to select and iPhoto just delete them camera card? I tried, but I can't seem to make it happen. If not, does anyone have another suggestion how to proceed (if all goes well simply), making sure that I don't accidentally lose pictures?

  It's complicated! How many photos are on the map? To really have control, I would probably want to delete the photos using the finder. But for this, you have to have a master list of what to get rid from that should be kept. I think you want to close iPhoto before deleting anything.

  Fat Cat Software has a program called iPhoto Library Manager that really made these much easier questions for me. He made comparing libraries and move photos between libraries much easier. I don't think that you can use for your problem exactly, but you would be able to load it all into a library to be sure you had everything and then move or copy photos as needed. I recommend it if you plan to keep this multiple configuration of the library. http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iPLM/

I have CS5 Master Collection for Mac and want to know what Mac computer and OS X version to buy it to support my CS5 programs effectively. If you use a Mac, it would be very encouraging for me to hear that you are able to use CS4, especially if you have a recent version of OS X. I would be very interested to know the kind of computer you have, what version of OS X you are using, what programs are included in your package of CS4, and how well the system and the OS X version work with CS4.   I'm looking for suggestions app IOS to geotag my photos and import these data into Lightroom.  I have seen a few where it records your GPS location and then time it synchronizes with the photos you take.  I'm not 100% sure how to import these data into Lightroom, so if you could help explain it or point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

  If you mean that the unit containing your photos is dead and that can still be seen in the catalog, I'm afraid, you can't do anything.

  The thumbnails are stored in a cache file that is a sqlite database. Each thumbnail is stored as a binary field in two very small dimensions: 120 x 160 and 240 x 320 pixels. It is not an image format and I don't think there's a way to extract them.

  The cache file is named thumb.5.cache and is located in the catalog folder. You can locate this file in the menu help/information system of the Organizer.

  A question of "stupid":

  Have you disabled - top right of the import dialog box?

  It should be checked when you do not want "old" photos to import again.

  Do this for each device you have.  If you have memory cards and reformat them, you will have to repeat every time.

  defaults write currentHost - com.apple.ImageCapture disableHotPlug - bool YES

  The exit of the terminal.

  Photos will run if you run, but it will not autolaunch on each connection to a camera or the card or reformatted the card.

  If you want to return Photos auto-launch almost everything, use the same command change YES no

  This correction has set my workflow back to normal without Photos lance all the time.

  I don't know what you mean by that last statement.  Are you referring to export photos from your library to the EHD? Or are you referring to place your library on the EHD and its use here? The export window to select any location you want to save to.  By default, it opens to the desktop on the startup disk. But you can select any volume which is mounted by clicking it in the sidebar of the export window:

Today, I tried to download pictures from my camera on my mac as I've done for years, but Adobe Bridge does not detect any of my Canon cameras.  Instead of the Photos window keeps popping up as I connect the camera USB cable humor.  According the Photos arise, I know that the camera is properly connected to the computer.  When can I expect an update of El Capitan to solve the problem?
