Electric circuit of Satellite A500 - 1 GM touch touchpad and USB box

It is intermittent, but I seem to be able to create a current through my fingers of two buttons on the front of the touchpad.

Current configuration of the plug is like this:
-Dispatcher 4, including plugged in the laptop and plugged in an external hard drive
-IF the drive is connected, but NOT connected to the computer with the USB cable, touch the buttons on the touchpad and the external hard drive metal case creates a circuit.
-This circuit can be bypassed by connecting the USB cable to the laptop.
-This circuit can be recreated by unplgging the laptop to the power grid.

The sensation of the electric circuit is a buzzing, tingling through my fingers at the point of contact with the touchpad buttons.
Using my fingers on the buttons, the circuit can be felt stronger.

Why does this happen? How are the touch pad buttons connected to food?
How can I get this repaired?

T.Smith

Hello

I think that happens because of the grounding.
[Wikipedia on the ground (electricity): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground _ (electricity)]

If the external HARD disk is not connected to the computer via a USB cable there is no conduction and grounded. The same phenomenon occurs when the AC adapter should be disconnected.

I think that the insulation of your HARD drive is not good and I recommend you contact the dealer or the HARD drive support team.

    Hey Buddy,

If your display driver is up-to-date, you wouldn t get this error ;)

As wrote Akuma, Toshiba has released a new driver for this laptop that solved the problem. You can download it here:

  • Satellite A500 - 19(d) - blue screens and restarts suddenly

I am the most unfortunate customer or this model again? No one has problems with the A500 - 19(d)?
I bought, five days ago a new. First start: blue screen. Second: blue screen. Third: F8 safe mode → → can through the entire current configuration.
Then start: party started. A few times the blue pro displays time and restarts. Tempro have 2 messages based: BIOS and WLAN driver update. Update BIOS message: your BIOS is newer or the same thing. Updated WLAN: no driver for my Realtek RTL819 * 1 * SE for Win7.

Two days in vain have off turned parts and drivers downloaded. Third day: I have restored the laptop in its original original (thanks to the recovery of hard disk based) configuration and wanted to put back to give. But a small miracle happens (it's Christmas... or?)  :-)): no more blue screens. OK... just to start, it starts two or three times until OK and then just two or three times suddenly restarts a day. Yet once the drivers downloaded in vain. No change. Someone has an idea? It must be something wrong with the drivers in safe mode, that's OK. Again, there should be a driver it is loaded at startup (blue screen of the first and the second). I really like this laptop but have bought for work not for pleasure and, in this way, its quite risky, so I have to change them.

Stand by. Maybe I've misunderstood something and have to ask you once again: have you noticed this BSOD problem with State factory and without additional software installation?

Last month I had friends Satellite A500 for the test and I did not notice this kind of problems with original Vista and also clean install of Win7.
If you really think that it can be risky for you I recommend you exchange it again.

Have you tried to unplug and plug the docking again?
Note: there is a latch on the left you have to move and in order to remove the tablet.

    Luigi

    Hi luigi,

    1. This toshibareminder.exe error looks like a problem with the recall of recovery. You already have the Toshiba Recovery disk?
You can also disable this notification in msconfig, but don t forget to create the recovery disk Toshiba!

    2. it is difficult to say something about it, but you should try update your BIOS. Maybe this would help
In addition, you wrote that you did an upgrade to Windows 7 Home ultimate. Because the same thing happens on Toshiba pre-installed OS?

    Thanks for your help

    Hi mate

Satellite L305D-S5881 belongs to the Toshiba US series and was released for the American market.
You will need to visit the page of the Toshiba driver us in order to get all the drivers.

To get the touchpad works, you need to install the driver for the Touchpad.
In addition, the FN buttons are controlled by VAP (value added package) and Flash memory card Support utility.
You must install both; all first PPV and then Flash cards.

Here is the Toshiba page we:

  • Satellite A300 - after reinstalling Vista touchpad and FN doesn't

    Hello

I reinstalled Vista Home Premium (before removing the old, I saved "Toshiba" folder with the drivers) and now the touchpad does not work + FN key does not work.

Should which driver I install and where?
    Thank you.

    Hello!

Normally it is not necessary to install a driver for the touchpad because s he s always activated, but you can do this also with FN + F9.

However, you should try to install the Toshiba Value added package. This is necessary for the FN keys and on the Toshiba site, you can also find the touchpad driver. Check it!

  • Satellite L300 - Vista - Touchpad and USB mouse does not.

    Hello

Well well after hours of trying allsorts, I post here...

Been given the laptop for repair as the touchpad no longer. No problem "I thought", simply plug a mouse usb to help me get around and re - install the touchpad... what a joke.

On the right, the USB mouse is recognized as a hid device and work, according to the Manager of devices, but not when you move it... nothing...
The Touchpad is listed as a Synaptics ps/2 touchpad and signals a Code 10 in section mouse device as well as listed as a hid and fully functional usb mouse Manager.

    Right... I have...
Listed all devices, even the hidden nonpresent (devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices) and removed everything only account of any mouse, keyboards, etc...
uninstalled the software synaptics via the program Panel.
Restarted the laptop, and it starts with the touchpad is ranked again code 10 with the version of windows drivers.
Drivers up to date using two different files of Toshiba for the touchpad, still Code 10
Still, the USB mouse does not either.

Someone enlighten me please on a fix for this...

    Hello

Really strange what s my friend because normally a touchpad driver update should solve the problem.

In any case, have you ever tried to use the Toshiba Recovery disk? Maybe it s just a software problem and a few important Windows files are destroyed or don t work properly. Reinstall Windows using the recovery disk Toshiba takes only a few minutes and there are already all the drivers and tools integrated. With these parameters (factory settings), the touchpad should work properly, and if not the touchpad or the motherboard needs to be replaced maybe.

    Good bye

    Hello

have you ever tried to recover your machine, which means a complete reinstallation of your system? First: to exclude the material errors, you must perform this step, and if the error persists, then I suggest you to contact a service partner chartered for a checkup of material and a repair action.
