Elements9 / edition of windows 7 problem

Hello, I just installed elements 9 on my windows 7, 64-bit computer. but I have a problem with that.  on the tools, when I click on the hand or the color picker or the magnifying glass. I have three small hands or three small color selectors and three Miss. This makes these totally unnecessary tools, (except the Magnifier that works regardless of the form there is) is this a known bug or am I missing something? Furthermore there is no problem with these tools with elements 9 installed on a netbook running XP.  any thoughts greatly appreciated

  • New want: set group policy not available in this edition of Windows 8?

Just before I used my recovery on Envy 6 partition I bought less than a month ago, I tried to define group policy in order to take control of my administrator account. I received an error message: "group policy is not a feature of this edition of Windows 8.1."

I knew My Envy 6 security problems (in my opinion, nothing to envy about it...) since I got it.

I have known this same problem several times, with different computers, then perhaps it is not just HP.  However, I spent the time shared an office with two of its engineers, who blew me subject my security concerns.

What happens first, did someone other than I turn my computer and started using my machine as a distributed resource.  When I look at the resource monitor, the memory usage remains at a stable level around 30%; the window of the disk (Disk 0, I presume) remains at about 100%, for several minutes after I started working.  There is evidence that copies of the countless applications are pushed through this channel to an unknown person to me.

In other words, it's like I had to work in a large company where administrators are able to share my computers memory and storage (and also, copies of programs on my machine) with others.

Yesterday, I took my machine at Best Buy Geek Squad for the third time since I bought it less than a month ago.  For the first time, they have me seriously on this security issue.  Yesterday, the fourth time I used my security partition, (once I had looked into the Task Manager and saw more than 50 tasks scheduled to run when the machine has been slowed and on current alternative) I decided to see what would happen if I leave the fully charged battery to work.

What I saw, it was a machine to panic.  I saw a sequence of four first screenshots, then a flash of a task list, and then a series that looked like screen shots again - this time fourteen of them.  I watched it happen to three different times.  Then, the machine made me a 'Capital A administrator' password, which I didn't.

I looked around resources here and on Windows and discovered that I could access boot options by turning on the machine and pressing the ESC key.  I ran through the list of options there and finally chose EFI, where I finally has two ways to start at an unknown address.  So that's another trick of Geek Squad was in order (I bought their contact service when I bought the machine, what the devil).  This time there was pretty much irrefutable evidence that something was wrong at the level of Internet security.

I realized that it is way to much information.  I'll ask just once more the question: is it possible that my brand new machine doesn't really have a 8.1 Windows edition that does not include the ability to group policy management?

Thanks to all who responded here.

    Hi @ElizaDoolittle8

Thank you for your request, I am happy to help you!

I understand that you have some security issues. You have taken your computer to the Best Buy Geek squad, 3 times and have used the 4 times recovery partition.

Only Windows 8 Ultimate and professional have the Group Policy Manager.

I suggest you do a full restore in the factory.  This will remove all the threats that may be installed.

If you don't have virus protection, I would say that you install one because it would help.

Performing a recovery of HP (Windows 8) system

During the recovery process, you will have an option to backup your personal files to avoid loss.  If you do not have a recent backup I suggest you only do one now.

Restore files that have been supported to the top using HP Recovery Manager (Windows 8)

Here is a link to a YouTube video.  Desktop version of Windows 8 open the Group Policy Management Console

Here is a third-party link to How to activate 'Group Policy Editor' (gpedit.msc) in Windows 7 Home Premium, Home Basic and Starter Editions? who, according to some readers have worked for them.  You can try it, but I don't know if it works or

    not. (of A? KVG)

    I hope this helps.

  • Can manage Windows XP Home Edition of Windows 8? Get the error codes for the security updates (0 x 643). ALL through Microsoft Tech INFECTED with the virus and Trojans tried. I need help BADLY. Thank you.

I tried every thing blessed with technology microsoft... always hanging in limbo here.  Tired of doing constant comprehensive analyses, etc. in order to remove the constant threats.  Apparently my McAfee can't stay with her either.  Need help with the download/repair these seeds as soon as possible.  Thanks to all those who wish to help me - it would be that popular, for sure!

    The question makes no sense.

"Can manage Windows XP Home Edition of Windows 8?"

Two problems: there is no Windows 8 and even if there were, Windows XP Home Edition would not not 'manage '.  ;-)

I drop McAfee for a few different freeware products.  Or better yet I'd get two products 'cost' (~ 25 and 60 dollars) and install them and use them in the future - but WHEN you are trying to clean up.

You seem like you maybe sincerely - at a time when a format/install of Windows XP/patching/installation of applications/patch/restore backups of your data is the best course of action.

However, if you are willing to work - maybe we can at least get things cleaned up to a certain point where you can get a good backup before doing this (otherwise avoid doing all together.)

In the order shown, do not jump (no matter what you do, what you have done in the past, etc.) ...

First of all - download, install, operate and put to update and then run a full system scan with the following two (one at a time, reboot in-between):

After you perform a full scan with one then the other and remove anything they have all two are completely, you can uninstall these products, if you wish.  This initiative will allow to check there is no malware floating around your system which could cause problems.  If you ask - no, Norton probably does not protect you from what these applications can find.

Download and run the MSRT tool manually:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx
(Ignore the details and download the tool to download and save to your desktop, run it.)

    Reset.

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

    Reset.

Download/install the latest program Windows installation (for your operating system):
    (Windows XP 32-bit: WindowsXP-KB942288-v3 - x 86 .exe )
(Download and save it to your desktop, run it.)

    Reset.

    and...

Download the latest version of Windows Update (x 86) agent here:
    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=91237
... and save it to the root of your C:\ drive. After you register on the root of the C:\ drive, follow these steps:

Close all Internet Explorer Windows and other applications.

    AutoScan--> RUN and type:
    %SystemDrive%\windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe /WUFORCE
    --> Click OK.

(If asked, select 'Run'). --> Click on NEXT--> select 'I agree' and click NEXT--> where he completed the installation, click "Finish"...

    Reset.

Now try usig the Fixit (Yes - try to use it again) to reset your Windows Components Update (you'll do the aggressive version, not the other):
How to reset the Windows Update components?

    Reset.

    CHKDSK
How to scan your disks for errors* will take time and a reboot.

    Defragment
How to defragment your hard drives* will take time

    Reset.

Now, open Internet Explorer, visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and do a CUSTOM search for updates.  Install any critical/high-priority ones and - for now - to ignore all those in option (always do this for material updates optional here.)

Restart if necessary and continue to visit this web page until you have not yet updated to high priority.

Now - if your problem is with the facilities of the .NET Framework...  You can end up with something like:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx
to uninstall a few versions of the .NET Framework, then you can try to install again - but you should not do this until the machine is supposed to be cleaned.

""

    Hello

You can use this Recovery Partition to reinstall Vista to his new condition with the right edition of Vista.

This recovery partition was photographed on your hard drive by HP during the manufacturing of the factory.

You press F11 on startup to start the process of recovering back to factory settings.

Here is the information about HP.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c00809678&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=18703

If the recovery partition is damaged, you can buy HP's Vista recovery discs for a small fee.

If HP's Vista recovery disks, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Windows activation problem

I have a 8500 XPS that came from the factory with Windows 8.  Shortly after the purchase (approximately beginning of 2013), I did the hot spare on 4 DVDs.  Recently, the hard drive failed.  I gave the seller Dell service tag # and ordered a new hard drive.  I asked what I had to re-install the operating system.  I was told I need a USB ($39.99) and ordered a.  I was told this would get operational.

I installed the new drive and insert the USB key.  Windows installed and is running.  However, I can't activate Windows.  Using Belarc advisor, that I could find my Windows key included on the bios.  When I entered this key pop up tells me that the current edition is Windows 8 Pro and the current product key ends with QPBRC.  "This is different from the product key that is embedded in the bios and I get an error code of 0xc004c003 ' the activation server determined the specified product key has been blocked" and that I have to buy a new key.

I guess the problem is that I have a valid key for Windows 8, but not Windows 8 Pro.

I called Dell and was given a number to call Microsoft. Otherwise, I was told that I would need to go through the technical support Dell for a cost of about $250.

I am at a loss at this point.  All suggestions are welcome!

The sticker stuck on your system say Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro? Editing say Windows or Windows Pro 8.1 8.1? Looks like Dell send the wrong edition of installation media.

Allows to try to resolve this first I recommend first making sure that your BIOS is up to date revision A13:

    http://downloads.Dell.com/published/pages/XPS-8500.html

See here for your (UEFI) BIOS revision and update. Ensure the UEFI and SecureBoot are enabled:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/updating-the-BIOS/#BIOSRevision

Then you have the choices install Windows 10 TH2 or clean install Windows 8.1.

Microsoft installation media does not ask for a product key and automatically drop your embedded UEFI BIOS SLP key installation provided the support of Installation and your product key game edition. In other words, if you have requested a product key you are installing the wrong edition.

I advise TH2 10 Windows on Windows 8.1 see here for more details on your free upgrade of Windows 8.1:

    https://philipyip.files.WordPress.com/2015/07/Th2-upgrade-table.PDF

To download Windows 10 TH2 installation media, see here:

  • What I lose anything make Windows 7 edition to Windows 7 Professional

    Hello

I recently bought a laptop that runs Windows Home Edition 10.  I'm looking to upgrade my desktop of Windows 7 edition computer to Windows 7 professional order to use the Remote Desktop feature to connect to my desktop from my laptop when I am away (Please correct me if I am wrong in assuming that there will be issues remote connection from a windows 10 on a windows computer 7).  Anyone know of any problems or loss of programs or all the files during the upgrade to Windows 7 edition to Windows 7 Professional?

If you use the Express Upgrade Assistant and you use a product key of Windows 7 Professional for retail, personal files, applications, and settings will be retained.

If you are using an OEM license, then you will not be able to use the upgrade wizard level Express and your only option is to perform a custom installation. This means that applications and hardware drivers must be reinstalled.

  • "The product key does not work with this edition of Windows 7", but I have not changed anything

Suddenly this week 7 Windows has stopped working and the error message said I might have a non-genuine copy, etc.   I checked the product key by using the Start/computer/properties menu. The product key was not the same as on my PC, so I tried to get the right version. Then I got the error message that you have entered the product key will not work with this edition of Windows 7, and I want to run Windows 7 set up or enter a professional product key.

I saw that someone else had been advised to run MGADiag.exe so I've already did but am puzzled by the report.  And I'm worried, why me nice Acer desktop PC suddenly did that, when he had worked happily with normal updates etc.  The report shows a different product to the label of my PC key.

    Can someone help, please

    Thank you
