Elevation of privileges UCS CLI CSCuz91263

I am able to Cisco bug reports and don't know how to interpret section "concerned admits communicated." The bug listed in the title has 2.2 (1A) A and 2.2 (6th) A listed under the above section. I am not clear as to whether this means that these releases are affected or all outputs between the listed versions are affected? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stephen,

Reviewing the default notes, it seems that this affects all versions of the software. We are working on a fix for this currently. You can monitor the bug for versions of updates/correction.

Conditions:
All versions of software are vulnerable until the first version fixed.

As a general rule, only releases that are listed under "Known affected releases" suffer unless otherwise indicated in the bug notes.

HTH,

Wes

  • Effect of allowing disjoint networks UCS L2 for existing pod

Servers within our UCS pod existing v2.0 (3 c) need new connection to a network of layer 2 in our datacenter. This network is not accessible to the Juniper switches to the North of our current 6248 fabric of interconnections.

After reading the documentation, it seems that "disjoint networks layer 2" may be the answer. If I understand correctly, we would have cable redundant connections to 6248 unused ports to switches that host this network of layer 2 and follow the guide associated with that vlan L2 these ports.

However, I also understand that I need to tweak the configs for our existing fabric and the fabric port channels B that hosts all the VLAN "normal." I fear that doing so may impact on the network for computers UCS hosts on these networks, or may necessitate a restart/reacknowledgement of existing hosts of UCS. Am I being too pessimistic?

    See you soon,.

    Paul

    Hello Paul,

I would indeed provide a window of failure because you configure VIRTUAL LAN Manager to associate some VLANs for the uplinks on each FI, it will be re-pinn all vEths which will cause a slight disruption in traffic.  According to the degree of sensitivity are your applications they may or may not be affected - I'd do it wrong side of caution and take a maint 1 hour. window to set up and test accordingly.

By default, all them VLANS are allowed on all uplinks.  As soon as you add a VLAN to an uplink channel / port specifically via the VIRTUAL LAN Manager, he gets explicitly cut off the coast of all other channels of uplinks / port for FI.

A great way to check your configuration is once you have everything configured as you see, you vous connecter connect to the UCS CLI interface, "connect nxos" and run 'show int trunk '.  You should see the VLAN on uplinks necessary - with the exception of the VLAN 1, that will be allowed on all uplinks.

    Kind regards

In Windows Vista/7 - even if you were to log on as the built-in Administrator, some things you would do (such as installing an application or access to certain files or folders) require an elevation of privileges.  Maybe that's what you see.

Whoa there 'UHF '! I'm sure there are many people who can sympathize with your frustration, but you're not going to get someone to help you by yelling at them. This isn't Microsoft Support so that no one is required to help you. This is a community forum sponsored Microsoft. Participation is entirely voluntary.

It is my understanding that there is an update of the lot 10 Feb caused problems with some systems (but not all). This update has been KB977165. I saw nothing but that identifies the cause of the BSOD experienced by some people.

    You have three options:

1 install the patch and see if it affects your system. Be prepared with an installation CD, you can implement the instructions provided in responses to "SCREEN BLUE, IMPOSSIBLE TO BOOT AFTER WINDOWS XP update today ".

    2. use Windows Update or any method you prefer to manually select to install everything except KB977165 and just leave it uninstalled until a fix is released.

    3. use Windows Update or any method you prefer to manually select to install all except KB977165 and install the "Fixit" patch provided by Microsoft to protect against the vulnerability without installing the problematic update.

Click on the "Fixit" button that says "Enable this fix" (fix 50364) on this page: Microsoft Security Advisory: vulnerability in Windows kernel could allow elevation of privilege

I chose option #3 on networks that I manage.

Best regards, Sohail Patel "MCSE 2003 | ITILv3 | "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a first step."

  • Error: 0xe0000102 cannot install updates KB972270 and KB982132.

Original title: KB972270 and KB982132 want to install.

For several years the updates of security for all Microsoft products are at the regular rate
    and as soon as available.
Now, in November, all security updates Microsoft in November had been installed.

    At the same time for
    -MS Office compatibility pack
    -MS Excel Viewer 2007
    -MS Powerpoint Viewer 2007
several security updates and SP2 had been uninstalled and replaced with SP3 manually.

After all these operations the Microsoft Update and MBSA reports
    KB972270 and KB982132 were missing.

Attempt to update shows no need to download the file because all the necessary files already downloaded.
End of the installation of two patches with summary 'OK '.
However, if to market verification MBSA or Microsoft Update, these two patches
are still listed as missing. You can perform all these steps in an endless loop.
    Each time the same result.

See below two logs for details please.

    What is the reason?
    How to solve the problem?

Hi all, thanks for all your advice.

The real answer to the problem indicated had been found in
    Microsoft Security Advisory (2639658)
    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/security/advisory/2639658
    and in
Microsoft Security Advisory: Vulnerability in parsing of TrueType fonts could allow elevation of privileges
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2639658

The new proposals is a matter of detection logic and users who have successfully KB982132 and KB972270 applied security updates previously may ignore the sound. ..."

Observed question is the result of that advisory proposed circumvention of security/KB.
