Microsoft fixed its killer Patches?

Hello

I have 2 computers that have no Windows installation CD.  One is OEM (XP Pro) and the other an Acer One netbook to exhale (XP Home). I don't really have the time or desire to do battle with my computers.

Microsoft has corrected the its bugs with his patches install 10 February?

  • KB978262
  • KB971468
  • KB978037
  • KB975713
  • KB978251
  • KB978706
  • KB977165
  • KB975560
  • KB977914

Is there a fix for these patches?  I dice with two dead computers?  Should I hold off for a while?  How long? What is the Microsoft of action preventive plan?

Kind regards

UHF

Whoa there 'UHF '! I'm sure there are many people who can sympathize with your frustration, but you're not going to get someone to help you by yelling at them. This isn't Microsoft Support so that no one is required to help you. This is a community forum sponsored Microsoft. Participation is entirely voluntary.

It is my understanding that there is an update of the lot 10 Feb caused problems with some systems (but not all). This update has been KB977165. I saw nothing but that identifies the cause of the BSOD experienced by some people.

You have three options:

1 install the patch and see if it affects your system. Be prepared with an installation CD, you can implement the instructions provided in responses to "SCREEN BLUE, IMPOSSIBLE TO BOOT AFTER WINDOWS XP update today ".

2. use Windows Update or any method you prefer to manually select to install everything except KB977165 and just leave it uninstalled until a fix is released.

3. use Windows Update or any method you prefer to manually select to install all except KB977165 and install the "Fixit" patch provided by Microsoft to protect against the vulnerability without installing the problematic update.

Click on the "Fixit" button that says "Enable this fix" (fix 50364) on this page: Microsoft Security Advisory: vulnerability in Windows kernel could allow elevation of privilege

I chose option #3 on networks that I manage.

I uninstalled Fix - it, but the new always restore point allows me to go further.  How can I remove Fixit restore point without format my whole computer

System Restore is not a panacea.  Why do you want to use a previous system restore point?

Sometimes the system restore fails, usually when you most need.  For this reason, some people don't rely on the system restore and make their own backups instead.

In order to back up the registry, C:\WINDOWS\ERUNT is both free and easy to use.

For more full backups, you must decide whether to back up only the data or the entire system.  It is easy to back up the entire system using a disk cloning/imaging application.  Here are a few:

If you have a Western Digital hard drive, you can get a version of Acronis True Image free of WD (http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119) or you can get the software of cloning separately (this is not an exhaustive list and in no particular order, some are free, some not):

    Acronis True Image Home
    EASEUS ToDo Backup
Paragon Drive Copy or Partition Manager Personal
    Casper
    Norton Ghost

    XXClone

  • My Windows 7 Upgrade is still stuck at 62%, even after downloading the patch Microsoft Fix It several times.

I tried several times to upgrade to Windows 7 Windows Vista Home Premium. It goes through all the steps, but at the last stage, at 62 he gets stuck, then stops, restarts and said then the upgrade has failed and that Windows Vista will be restored.
I found several sites that give a link to a Microsoft Fix It tool that should take care of this problem. I downloaded this patch Fix It, but the upgrade is still stuck at 62%. What can I do on this please?

If possible, try to do a restore of Windows Vista and try the following:

1 disable any security software before you attempt to upgrade or do a clean install.
    2. make sure that your computer is updated (devices and applications)
    3. disconnect all external devices before installing.
    4. check your hard disk for errors:
    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r
When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

In addition, run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, it will scan your system and provide a report telling you if your PC can run Windows 7, and if there is no compatibility problems with your hardware or programs.

  • Vista to 7 ultimate; Hangs at 62% on the last step, even with the Microsoft Fix tool.

    Hello
I'm currently upgrading my Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 to Windows 7 Ultimate edition. The entire dose has been smooth, except on the last stage, the progress hangs at as records of XXXXXX/XXXXXXX (62% to be exact). I came here and I tried The Microsoft Fix it (No. 50319) that has been proposed, without success. Currently I just make it run the time will hopefully fix. It was about 2 hours with no luck. I have not tried the difficulty It Yourself option, but I get woozy when messing around with records. Is there anyone else who is having the same issue, or better yet, a possible solution?

    In case it can help you, here is my system log;

    Model/carton: Gateway GT5477E
    CPU: Amd Athlon X 2 4400 + 3.2 Ghz 32 bit
HARD drive: 400 (312 free) GB 7200 RPM
VIDCARD: GALAXY 9500GT PCI-E 512 MB (single card) (removed for the upgrade)
    RAM: 4 GB DDR2 (4 X 1 Kingston mini-dimm)

All my external USB, printers etc. Are of the United-pluged Nations and off. I have very little emission, which none would prevent more than likely that this progress, and a lot of free on my HARD drive.

I was very surprised that the Fix tool It was not able to solve the problem. I'll let it run to see if time allows he rock forward, but it is on the same file from a certain time and its not not Lookin ' swell so much for me. Wish me good luck or grant me the knowledge. -Michael G.

    Hello

You can wait for the difficulty he has done and if the progresses installation more than 62% then the issue is resolved.

If the automatic fix does not resolve the issue then, try the manual steps to fix the problem.

To fix this problem yourself, follow these steps:

    (a) restart the computer. Then, your computer will roll back to Windows Vista.

    (b) click Start, right-click computer, and then click Properties.

    (c) in the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.

    (d) under System variables, click new.

    (e) in the name of the Variable of type MIG_UPGRADE_IGNORE_PLUGINS field.

    (f) in the value of the Variable of type IphlpsvcMigPlugin.dll field.

    (g) click OK three times to close the dialog boxes.

    (h) restart the upgrade installation.

  • Microsoft Fix It does not work

    Hello

I am having some problems with my operating system. I decided to run the Microsoft Fix it Automated Troubleshooting Services. I ran the installer and then he "Windows PowerShell is required before continuing. He gave me 2 options 'Install Windows PowerShell 1.0' or 'ignore this installation and Microsoft Fix it diagnosis.' I clicked on install PowerShell. Then the install box froze (not responding) and then he returned to normal with 2 options. Its like I never clicked on anything whatsoever. So I clicked on install PowerShell again, but it still has the same, would not do something.
