  Ok thank you. I have my recovery partition intact Vista. So I think, I should be able to recover if I have some kind of problem! I was able to find a backup and recover in Win 7 itself. Maybe I should wait for the software will be released by HP. Thank you once again!

  This means that there are errors in the recovery partition. Did you create a set of recovery or a recovery USB USB key drives?

  If you don't then it can be used to reinstall the software and drivers.

  I suggest you make a set of HP recovery disks or USB recovery media before deleting access recovery.

  Deactiviating Recovery Manager is too easy.

  Remove the recovery partition.

  Are you sure you want to do this? Activation, it is much more difficult.

  I reformatted this machine once before (a couple of years) using recovery disks created by the system. I saved these same recovery discs to reformat, I try now to complete.

  So far I performed the steps in the order as I did before - place the CD1 in the drive, boot from the CD, run a disk factory reset. First time I tried, she returned with the error message almost immediately, he does not reformat (or something to that effect) with this error code: 0xe0ef0002 and instructions for "contact HP support. AT 01:00. You must be kidding.

  I tried again and got exactly the same result. Decide to leave for another day, when the support would be around, I tried to boot normally (with the disc from the drive). This time, I got a black screen with white, printed on the top left text:

Get a bit peeved (I have a disorder that leaves me open to huge bursts of anger, this did not help), I decided to try the Factory Reset. Oddly enough, it doesn't give me an error message, but seemed to be progress in the "Factory image restore. 4% and then 8% - and it's been stuck at 8% for the last 12 hours at least. I don't particularly want to turn it off for the risk of breaking something - even if Recovery Manager seems pretty broken as it is. There is a blue arrow pointing to 'Reformat the partition of your hard disk Windows' and that's all. No button is available (except the red X), nothing seems to happen anywhere. Extremely disappointed.

  Any help would be appreciated. I'll be phoning HP support tomorrow to get answers, although I don't have a particularly good story to keep my mood level when you speak with assistants and on pending emails is not my thing either - I saved important files on an internal HARD drive before you start (disconnected the motherboard HARD drive) and the hours of waiting and hours for email support is not an option.

  While I can't help you with the problem of specific recovery disk (and is probably impossible anyway), I have a solution to your dilemma...

  If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

  Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

  Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

  The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

  Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

  I work in a local store of pawn and we also miss a place ebay store. Some people are not the brightest.

  We have a HP Pavilion A6400Z that origionally came with Vista Home Basic.

  Apparently at some point they thought it was too slow, so they took an acer recovery disk and put XP on there. There is no drivers / whatnot.

  I put vista Home premium on there to see how he could play, and it works well. The recovery partition is surprisingly intact, with all of the HP Preload files there.

  What I do:

  Only I have a disk of vista Home premium and want to the factory restore using the recovery partition that is always there.

  Pressing F11 at startup is not in recovery mode, I need to get the software HP Recovery Manager, or find a file on the partition recovery that will do it for me.

  By pressing F11 on HP Invent blue screen, as soon as it presents, should start the Recovery Manager.  If it isn't, there are two other ways to get it started.

  (1) try to start in Safe Mode, tapping F8 (not now) after the blue HP screen.  Then go on the recovery partition and mark it as active in the "disk management", then restart.  Back in safe mode, and it must ask that the installation of Windows you want.  If it does not order them HERErecovery Kit.  You can see several items that apply but do not require the "Vista Business". 5092-7398 or 5092-7399 should work.

  My new desk top has developed a problem when I tried to partition the hard drive, which resulted in me re-install win7. Unfortunately, this seems to have removed the HP Recovery Manager. I downloaded it from a website, but when I try to install a box pops up saying: the program cannot start because HardDisk.dll is missing on your computer. Try reinstalling to resolve this problem. Any ideas?

  PS I thought I might need restoration also if I ever need to reinstall or repair the operting system in the future. Thank you

  The HP Recovery Manager is not a downloadable product.

  It can be reinstalled as part of an image recovery performed factory using HP recovery media.

• My hard drive crashed, Gateway Recovery Management (V8.3.2)

  I have replaced my failing hard drive, inserted the 1st recovery disk. I get some blury gray and black line about 1/2 in the lower part of the window. After awhile we open the window of recovery management. Howevery it allows me, but an EXIT option and I cannot go further in the recovery of windows 7 on this computer.

  Can anyone help guide me to a solution. Or do I have to buy a new Windows 7?

  Hello everyone. I am pleased to say that the recovery disk is fine. I installed another hard drive in the computer. I ran both and tried running the recovery disc that I've tried for the past few days to start, still wouldn't start. So I unplugged that one and run the recovery disc, he went right to work, installation of Windows and the information on the bridge.

  I guess that somewhere along the line I corrupted the two old hard drives. Maybe when I tried using BootCD of Hiten to try to format hard disks and start over. But it was after I had so much trouble with them. So, needless to say. I'll stay away from this for sure boot disk. Not to mention a lot of programs on it say that they would not work, or have nothing in them...

  Of course, I'll keep the links you have all provided for future reference. Now I guess I should open a new topic if I can't find how to check the material to see if something is missing, or bad. I also now if there's a way to check my external hard drives to see if him are corrupted somehow. Also is there a way to at least restore the latest hard drive and or check these two drives into trouble.

  The link in my previous post gives instructions on how to unlock Recovery Manager.

  What you need to do is:

  1. open 'C:\Program Files (x 86) \Hewlett-Packard\Recovery Manager' in the file Explorer.

  2. right click on Rebecca.exe (recovery program) and click "copy."

  3. paste it on your desktop.

  4 unzip this download http://www.fluxbytes.com/software-releases/fileunsigner-v1-0/

  5. drag your copied version of Rebecca.exe on FileUnsigner.exe

  6. right click on Rebecca.exe on the desktop and click "copy."

  7. paste in 'C:\Program Files (x 86) \Hewlett-Packard\Recovery Manager' and say yes to replace the existing file.

  8. search "HP Recovery Manager", click on it and a prompt will come, click 'Yes' and it should open.

   

  You can repeat this for other programs that are blocked. Basically, it removes the obsolete certificate which prevents opening in Windows 10.

  It was slow and a friend said to them: they could fix it, they don't have a dry system and install windows 7 ultimate. Windows does not have a serial number so will run out in 9 days

  The recovery partition is still present.

  I downloaded most of the HP software on the site that all installed ok.

  I want the HP Recovery Manager (I think).

  Ive downloaded, but when I try to run the .exe I get an error saying that dzip32.dll is missing from the computer.

  Someone at - it ideas.

  Don't want to buy the installation discs as they are £39 and I have the correct partition just to be able to use it.
