Email from Windows 7 and Vista

I can't find my e-mail files Vista after his conversion to Windows 7. All my other files were saved successfully during the conversion, so I know that emails are there, but where?

Vista used a program by the name of Windows Mail.  This program does not exist for Windows 7.

There is an excellent program under the name of Windows Live Mail (WLM), you can get for free by downloading Windows Live Essentials http://www.filehippo.com/download_windows_live_mail/

WLM is actually based on Windows Mail, but better.  Much better.  When you start the installation of Windows Live Essentials, it will offer you the opportunity to choose which components you want.  You probably want to just mail.

If Windows Mail data on the hard drive, when you start WLM for the first time, he must find and quite automatically import all your data

Please let us know how it works for you.

If all the settings are correct, turn off e-mail scanning in your antivirus software. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • Emails from Windows Mail (only those!) incorrect impression

It is on behalf of my mother, who I'm helping remote...

She just bought and installed an HP Officejet 6500 Wireless all-in-one all in one printer to use with his laptop, running Windows Vista. Apparently everything is going well, except that she is unable to print correctly, emails from Windows Mail.   What emerges from the printer is about the left third of the email, printed on the right third of the paper.  It's so weird, I downloaded an analysis of the example of it at:http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/3729/emailscan.jpg

I have consulted the laptop remotely and checked everything obvious like size settings - not that I see a lot of alter, paper, but does not include what could be wrong.  It's only the emails that are affected, and there are two weeks that they were very good impression on his printer previous (one another, but very old, Officejet).

    Any ideas please?

    Thank you

Windows Mail uses the same as Internet Explorer print engine. It seems that the left margin is way.

In IE: File | Page layout. Default is 0.75, (19mm), all around.

In the meantime, take a look at the Charter of General electronic installation instructions.

I move the file from my old PC which took place with Vista on a new computer running with Win 10 where I have Windows Live Mail is installed.  When I try to copy the files from Windows Mail on Vista on a USB key I get the message "you are about to copy this file without its properties".  After studying this issue on the forums, a proposed solution was to reformat the drive in NTFS format, I did.  This does not solve the problem.  Any suggestions?  Would it be OK in this case to ignore the message and copy the file without its properties?

Well data files/user of vista should work. Yes a NTFS format is good, go to run, or cmd, type:

diskmgmt.msc in msc, R.click on the material, delete the partition, create one, format. Use the default settings,

Once thru, L.click the disk, go to actions, all, select 'enable '.

In addition, live windows for vista is microsoft discontinud

  • 10 free of charge during the first year Windows update - include Windows XP and Vista?

    Hello

I read in the press last week that Microsoft will offer a free upgrade of Windows 10 for users of Windows 7 and 8 for a period of one year after its initial launch.  My question is Microsoft will expand the offering to users of Windows XP and Vista?

As long as the material can cope with the new operating system - and it seems to be able to scale up to a certain extent - surely, it would be more beneficial to all parties that as many possible Windows users get the new standard rather than race systems not supported / dangerous or ineffective.

I know several users who are quite happy with their existing equipment, but are showing more concern with the lack of support from their systems and they cannot afford to upgrade their hardware right now.  There are also many companies who do not want the additional costs of purchasing new computers if its computers are fit - for-purpose (except for the lack of OS support...).

If the grand design is to get Windows facilities as 10 in the first year, then it would seem preferable to offer either to these users:

    (a) a free upgrade like any other Windows user

    (b) a small fee upgrade - say £10 - get to 10 Windows

Right now, this offer is only available for Windows 8/8.1 and Windows 7 users, but if you migrate your installation of Windows XP now to preview Windows 10, you will receive the promotion.

  • After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

After saving the emails from windows live mail, why not open them on my computer as the file extension is wlmail.fol?

wlmail.fol is a tiny text giving the name of the folder. The exported messages will have filenames like 00D13E83 - 000025DF.eml. If you don't see all of the files like this, your export probably did not work properly.

For a successful export, follow these directions:

    1. Set Windows Live Mail to work offline before starting.
    2. Create a temporary folder on your desktop * to contain the exported messages.
    3. In the Export Wizard, select the temporary folder, and then select all the folders.* *
    4. When it is complete, check that the number of files in each folder to the temporary folder is one more than the number of messages in the corresponding folder of WLMail.
    5. Copy the temporary file to its final destination.
If you use a reader not NTFS to do this, you will see a warning that certain file properties will not be copied files. This can be ignored.

    * Windows Live Mail do not work with files that are not on a local drive, as opposed to an external or network drive. This is avoided by using the office as a temporary folder location.
    * If you want to export the files sampled only, select each of them containing messages. Subfolders are not automatically selected by default.
