Emulator of the UCS and Fibre Channel (PCI Passthrough)

Hello

I would like to know if anyone of you knows if emulator UCS supports CF communications and how to configure them.

I have 2 PCI Fibre Channel interfaces on the host Hardware and I applied PCI Passthrough on the ESXi hypervisor. It works with other virtual machines.

Thank you very much

Francesco

No, unfortunately not.

  • CS3 - adjustment of the left and right channels of an Audio track separately

    I think it's a very stupid question.  I know how do in Avid and FCP, but for the life of me can not understand at first.  I cut a clip and laid it on the timeline.  Now I would like to adjust the audio levels of the clip independently, but there is that one line, passing through the audio clip, and it adjusts the L and R channels at the same time.  Nowhere, not even in the track properties, can I select only the L channel or R channel alone and make this channel upwards or downwards a little without affecting the other.  L and R are grayed out and not selectable.  The properties of the show clip it is stereo, the project settings are stereo, and I was not able to find any info on this problem in the forums here or in the help tool.  Except for something 2 I fell that said that we must go in the settings of the Master Clip and create Mono 2-track stereo channels until you place it on the timeline, but it would be crazy to have to do this for each stereo clip you import ever!  And that makes no sense - "mono" means 2 channels are the same, how can you have two channels "mono"?  What would be the purpose, you only need a "Mono" channel to go to your 2 speakers.  And I don't mean each mono channel to do in any case, I want it to go to the left and R only go towards the right side channel L!  Maybe they use bad word "mono"?  Or maybe I'm a fool and quite simply do not get something (most likely).

    In any case, I'm really confused here, especially because I can't believe that you go through all these steps for each unique stereo clip you work one day with... I must be missing something really simple, right?

    IN SUMMARY:

    I capture a stereo clip HDV

    I have load to the Source window

    I got a point in and an out-point

    I insert my clip on the timeline

    I noticed the channel audio left is too high and the right audio channel is too low

    How to lower the left channel and raise the right channel?

    Stupid question, I know.

    In Avid or FCP you go to audio level "line through the center of each channel and adjust at your leisure

  • Find the latest Standard dual channel PCI IDE Controller driver

    Hello

    I think my Standard dual channel PCI IDE Controller Driver is outdated. The current driver, I have installed has a date of June 21, 2006 driver. If I try to update through the window of the driver details in the Device Manager it tells me according to update... but it says on my audio, video and drivers ethernet which have been exceeded. I went to the Web from Foxconn site, because they are the manufacturer of the Board of Directors (Destroyer), but their drivers are up-to-date.

    Seeing that Microsoft is the provider of the driver, is there somewhere on the Microsoft site, can I go to get the latest driver for my Vista 64 bit system?

    Hello 58,

    Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

    When you are in Device Manager by looking at the disk for Standard dual channel PCI IDE Controller, have you tried to uninstall the drivers? (You may need to restart)  When your computer starts back it can recognize the non updated material.  If this is not the case, go back to Device Manager and install the driver.

    Please let us know status.  Thank you! Engineer James Microsoft Support answers visit our Microsoft answers feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

  • The review of the UCS and VCP

    Hi all

    I do not have a secure Channel and yet so I will at least make the test of the UCS?

    Is-Cisco has a system as they will allow us to test of the UCS, but they will not give us unless we are SECURE.

    Thank you

    Ismail

    Hi Ismail

    You can always take the test and still qualify as a Cisco Unified Computing Technology Specialist of the design and a Cisco Unified Computing Technology Support Specialist without a PCV.

    But if you're after Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Support Specialist, etc. then yes VCP is always a pre - req (I heard that there will be rejected in favour of a managed Cisco equivalent, but who is without merit)

    Unfortunatley (that I found) just passing examination VCP wasn't enough, but the VMware course is also a mandatory requirement for VCP VMware.

    Good luck with it.

  • Can I disable the B200 blade Fibre Channel vHBA

    Hello

    I'm setting up my service to my B200 blades profiles and I was wondering if there was a way to disable the Fibre Channel HBA. I will not use CF as all my iSCSI storage.

    Thank you

    LTA

    When you create a service profile, you are asked if you want the storage (= CF) or not; you say no!

    If you missed this step and you have created vhba, just remove them later.

    It is not possible to disable vhna.

  • sound card output audio separate in the left and right channels?

    Hi all

    I work and change the Sound.vi "generate".

    It works very well, however, I want to control what going on the left audio channel vs right.

    Down the blockdiagram and the sub vi:s that I actually lost where the tone 'mono' rectuangular Rejoinder to stereoright and the left channel.

    Any ideas, inputs are welcome :-)

    Just use an instance of the output of his writing have a 1 d waveform data entry (i.e. type  Audio output (DBL) writing). Each element of the array corresponds to a channel. You change the type of click with the right button on the service and make a "select Type". Oviously, the generation of waveform in the example will be changed as well.

  • Basic question about the selection of the AP and multiple channels

    I have about 10 PA (Aironet 1240 G) intended to be deployed one of my floors of office. We examined a diagram of the floor and made sure that we ordered enough to completely saturate the ground with wireless coverage. There are a few AP which are probably only 50' with each other. It's actually a bit exaggerated.

    I put a base on the switch configuration so that there are two different SSID on the access point (one for a production of WLAN and the other for a WLAN comments). Each SSID is associated with a VLAN different.

    I want to know is this what to do on the channels for the AP? Each access point will be independently configured and controlled.

    I understand that there is a way to control which channels each AP uses, but I'm not familiar with the controls or best practices for the configuration of the AP

    Can I do something like make sure that each access point uses a different channel than its nearest adjacent neighbors? Someone would mind sharing what is the command to do it, and where it is applied?

    I have read through some archives and saw people talk to set "no bunk channels" and to configure them to use 1,6,11 channels. I guess I don't understand what is meant by there.

    Manually define you an access point to channel 1, then set his neighbour to use 6 and another neighbor to use 11, and then you who stay?

    What is the worst of the scenarios on what happens when you have no AP too close to the other located on the same channel?

    It is a pleasure to read through the documentation if someone wouldn't mind pointing me to it. I'm still trying to understand the concept, and then I should be able to understand the documentation that came with the AP.

    Thank you for your help.

    If your stand-alone Access Points. If it was a deployment of Comptrollership, in fact to dynamically manage the channels for you.

    But what you really want to do, is you see APs do something like this:

    (imagine each number represents an access point, and it channel)

    1 6 11 1

    6 11 1 6

    11 1 6 11

    1 6 11 1

    It is a conceerne configuration guide. I think he has a small section on the channel assignment. If you do this manually, I think that you specify the actual frequency used in the CLI instead of the channel number.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/access_point/12.4_3g_JA/configuration/guide/s43rf.html

    So the CLI under the Dot11Radio0 you would do something like 'channel 2412' for channel 1... 2437 for 6, 2462

    for 11...

    If you have APs side by side on the same channel, you are likely to have clients interfere between them.

  • How to split audio tracks in the left and right channels, as we do in FCP or Avid necessary for dubbing?

    We are recording in both languages, one on the left and the other in the right channel. However, in Adobe Premiere Pro we are not able to separate the track when we take for rough cutting. Both tracks are are mixed. Pl help. Since we need to maintian the split the track to dubb in other languages.

    You must do this before you add images of the sequence:

    • Select the element (or multiple clips) in the tray
    • Menu > Clip > edit > Audio channels (SHIFT G)
    • Change the 'number of tracks' 2
    • Change the "Format channel" in Mono
    • Reject the message info.

    When you put the clip in a sequence, it will now drop L and R in separate tracks (assuming that your sequence allows this audio model).

  • iSCSI and Fibre Channel on the Dell PowerVault MD3000 SAN shaerd with 2 physical servers

    Hi all

    I'm doing new virtualization technologies work in my office for assistance:

    2 x Dell PowerEDGE 2950 III each installed with iSCSI next accessing the SAN controller

    1 x Dell PowerVault MD3000 (10 x 300 GB 15 k rpm SAS)

    The

    VMWare ESXi is installed in an internal USB to load 4 x virtual machines which is

    under SOLARIS (using project, houses, SAMBA file server and)

    Source code repository and compile the source code of the project Build

    Server too.)

    5 x Windows Server 2003 which perform as Apache Tomcat application server.

    And

    I wonder if it has performance benefits in the application of the

    Shared SAN for these two physical server via iSCSI in contrast with

    Fiber Channel.

    I am aware that CF is faster and more expensive, but in this case, I won t run a VM with DB server on it.

    must

    I enter the path to have iSCSI or stick with the given FC

    the SAN runs on 15 k rpm SAS used by 2 ESXi server.

    Please let us know of a reflection regarding this configuration.

    Thank you

    Usually, you take NIC 1 gb connections available on your host and configure them as such.

    2 network cards go to the San, most of the time that it is actually two networks with different subnets.

    1 network card next LAN

    1 network card for the management

    We only use three network cards currently on our guests, 2 for San and the other for management and lan. We use two switches dedicated to dedicated networks dual iSCSI san. This allows to easily add additional hosts in the future.

    You get to decide a bit, but the double san network is pretty much a given. You can do all this of course with the VLANs as well. We use the switches unmanaged yet in our Organization.

    PS: Passing path recommended is to have completely isolated storage of the LAN network / network of the user.

  • difference between the parallelism and assign channel

    What is the difference between

    RMAN > run {}
    allocate channel c1 device type disk;
    allocate channel c2 device type disk;
    }

    AND

    RMAN > configure channel device type disk parallelism 2;

    9i / 10g:

    RMAN > run {}
    allocate channel c1 device type disk;
    allocate channel c2 device type disk;
    }
    -Online you manually assign 2 channels.

    RMAN > configure channel device type disk parallelism 2;
    -Online RMAN allocate automatically 2 channels if you do not specify assign channel in your building.

    2 = 2 there is no difference, but if you do:

    RMAN > configure channel device type disk parallelism 2;
    and then
    RMAN > run {}
    allocate channel c1 device type disk;
    allocate channel c2 device type disk;
    allocated channel c3 device type disk;
    }
    RMAN uses your manual assignment and the degree of parallelism is 3

    In any case RMAN will ALLOCATE channels, maybe that they will really be USED.

  • Fibre Channel frames - UCS

    I was wondering if it really is possible to have the Fibre Channel frames running on a UCS?

    I read these two articles that provide some great information on the implementation of the Fiber Channel Jumbo and Jumbo frames:

    http://datacenteroverlords.com/2013/04/01/Jumbo-FC-frames/
    http://www.ccierants.com/2013/10/CCIE-DC-definitive-Jumbo-frames.html

    Everything in the SAN I'm administration has the ability to set the MTU value until 9036 except for the UCS. For example on NetApp train I can set the MTU by interface on the Cisco MDS I can set the MTU by vsan. However in the UCS Manager when I go to class of service of system quality, the option to set the MTU of Fibre Channel value is grayed out and it doesn't look like there is in any case override the preset frame size. I can set the MTU of the best Effort however my understanding is traffic Fibre Channel in the UCS will use the class system of Fibre Channel.

    Also I noticed that I can set the maximum size of the data on the vHBA field in the UCS Manager but my understanding is the maximum that can be up to 2048.

    Hello

    Have you checked

    Erik Smith says:

    April fool! I wish I saw this earlier, I would have posted corroborating results!

  • Problem with XServe and XServe RAID via Fibre Channel

    Hello everyone,

    I have a problem with my blended Xserve RAID.

    I see in RAID-Admin and configure it successfully (via Ethernet). Connect with our Xserve via Fibre Channel, but the XServe and XServe RAID do not detect each other.

    The fiber on the Xserve channel LEDs are white on the Xserve RAID completely off and permanent.

    RAID-Admin status of Fibre Channel: 'No connection (1 table)' with a red square.

    If I try to open the utility of fiber channel I get the message: "card Fibre Channel is not found." Utility disk OS X can't, too.

    I changed the card connector cable, and made several reboots. But each time the same thing: they do not detect each other.

    Xserve (2009):

    -2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5500

    -Map of Apple dual-channel 4 Gb Fibre Channel (LSI7204EP)

    XServe RAID:

    -RAID 5 in an array (only on the left with 5 x 500 GB)

    -1.5.1 Firmware

    -Cable Apple 4 Gb SFP - SFP

    Thanks for your help and sorry for my bad English!

    Hi Mpm-Mainz,

    Check if you have enabled LUN masking. To be able to see, you will need to download raid admin 1.5 not the 1.5.1

    Xserve RAID Admin Tools 1.5

    Have you also tried to use the other controller? Even if there is no disc in there, then it should appear in the preferences of fiber card system.

    Thank you

  • The NB305 has a mini PCI-E slot?

    Hello
    I have a NB305 (PLL3AA-01E009), I have purchased from HN about 3 months ago.

    I just read with interest on Whirlpool where a guy pulled apart his Aircard 880U and adapted from the mini pci-e card in his laptop computer "Dell".

    As my NB305 has a light for WWAN (at the front), but no hardware, I wonder if she has the pci - e slot, where I too may be able to adapt this card?

    I checked the specifications and is no pci-e slot - but the light on the front gives me hope!

    See you soon,.
    Rick

    The light in the front doesn't say much. Loan of equipment (slot, antenna) and compatibility is important.
    If I understand you well this guy that write you about has probably changed his address. What you want to change on your laptop?

    If you want to use the AirCard 880U USB version of this card check card.
