Enable/disable Turbo Boost

Anyone know how to disable or activate the turbo boost on Macbook Pro mid 2015?

Note: I found the application to switch to the boost trubo but I would like to install it it seems fishy!

Thank you very much

Do not install third-party applications that claim to protect, improve performance, manage, own, etc. from your computer.

Personally, I would like to put to its basic speed (3.6 GHz) without a whip OC or turbo at all. The only parameters that I see in the BIOS are 'load profile of OC 1' and ' load profile OC 2 "." He suggested to enter '0' I usually come home for each carrot clock speeds. (i.e. the value of 42 to 4.2 GHz, 39 to 3.9 GHz, O for factory settings, etc.) I currently put at 41, 39, 39, 39 with OC 1 profile. I do not understand why only dell OC the nucleus, but I left thinking they know what they are doing. Laughing out loud

My question is: should I charge factory OC setting 1 and manually adjust all the hearts for a value of 36 under the first profile of OC or should I enter 0 and let the system handle it. As I said, I want to see how to make games without overfeeding OC. The cpu wins a few years on this issue and I would push there is little as possible. My main goal is to limit the power consumption and falling as low as possible time all in game. Demanding games usually keep in the 1950s and serious pigs can keep it in the 1960s. While I know that it is quite acceptable, I'm looking to see times lower and increase the longevity of the processor. (using corsair H75 on stock cooler).

    Thanks in advance.

In order to disable the turbo you just go in the BIOS and in the tab Advanced Startup Options Select voltage/frequency control and then go to the option that indicates the CPU power management Configuration, disable the Intel turbo boost, then save and exit.

Let me know how it goes.

  • My mobile hai turbo boost?

Hello. I have hp pavilion 1105tx g6. I want to know does have turbo boost? If yes how to check that it is enabled or disabled?

If you have a processor Intel Core i5 - 2410M installed the CPU of your laptop, then the answer is Yes.

You can enable or disable turbo boost because the BIOS of your laptop does not give you the opportunity.

I disabled the Intel Turbo Boost technology and its high value at full load is now about 68 ~ 69 and the laptop is not hot at all, and I did not notice a difference in performance, so you should try it if your laptop gets hot

My question is there utility to disable through windows?

    null

    > My question is there utility to disable through windows?

Usually, this must be done in the BIOS.
But as far as I know Toshiba offer a tool called Toshiba HWSetup located in all programs-> Toshiba.
This software allows you to change some settings in the BIOS Windows System.

I m not very good if you the Intel Turbo Boost Technology options are available in the HWSetup utility, but you can check it otherwise you will have to change the settings in the BIOS

  • HP has disabled the turbo boost on i7 2600, 3770 and 3770 k

Buyers and potential buyers beware. What a great discovery I made. I bought my new Phoenix h9t on day of release of back in January. Mine came with the i7 2600. While recently doing a comparative analysis. Ensuring that my cpu is 100% and all threads as well. Full turbo boost will not be so. HP has locked down to 3.4 GHz stock and won't go higher. Which should be able to go up to 3.8 GHz. If I had known that. I would have returned. Way to late now. It is not cool at all and not announced them this. They actually announce 3.8 GHz turbo boost. I don't know what can be done other than listening HP to unlock via a bios update.

Ignore the messages. Discovered it amplify only fully when 1 core is 100%. 3.5 GHz is maximum when all 4 cores are maxed.

You have Intel Core i7-2670QM processor and this processor supports Intel® Turbo Boost technology 2.0

These features of the CPU can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS. But just in case where this option is available in the BIOS.
When this option isn't available, you will not be able to put ON or OFF

  • Turbo boost does not work when active hyperthreading - W520

I have ignored this issue for a long time, until I've decided to try to understand and fix it. My W520 would never go beyond 2.40 GHz, I tried all the tests in the book. Manager power AC power, BIOS enabled, the max value performance in what concerns all, power settings windows too. stress tests, single thread, multi-threaded, has no importance, it has always been to 2.40 GHz or less (800 idling). After much trial and error, I found that this turbo would work properly if hyperthreading is disabled in the BIOS. The CPU module and then between 800 MHz to 3.5 GHz as it should with active turbo. Why can I not use hyperthreading AND turbo? Is this normal?

I also noticed that in the BIOS there is no option for turbo-boost. Just hyperthreading, multi-core and speedstep.

W520, i7-2760qm, BIOS 1.40, all the latest recommended updates.

Turbo boost is activated just unless disabled in the BIOS. There is no way to overclock your laptop. You can install this little app to track the Turbo and be sure it works:

  • Turbo Boost

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I just got a w700 i5.

I heard a lot about the problem of limitation with technology turbo boost, but my question is if the turbo is

It is enabled by default and cannot be disabled.

  • problem TURBO boost dv6 6121tx win 7 64 bit

I couldn't wait to see turbo boost in action (I dv6 6121tx 2630qm of intel with 2.9 ghz Turbo), but it will never be more than 2 GHz in my laptop. Yes I've read all about works of overeating, but even when its slowed down or heavily worked my laptop never seem to go above 2 GHz. monitor intel turbo boost show always no more than 2 GHz. I tried to install the driver turbo boost but it says that I do not meet the minimum requirements that intrigues me. also, I can't find anything related to overeating in my laptop anywhere (not even in Device Manager). so help me guys... thnx

Thanks for all the help Mumbodog.

I got it to work but its pretty lame, I did not understand why it worked. Here's what I did:

    1. go in hp coolsense

    2. Select mode optimized performance

    3. restart your laptop

    4 turbo boost works

Note: 1 turbo boost 2.0 requires no drivers (so all of you who are looking, stop it)

    2. If your fan in hp coolsense is a mode other than the performance op mode then turbo boost is not work(i.e,_in_coolest_mode_or_quietest_mode).i seriously don't get this logic?

    3. intel say that turbo boost cannot be turned off or on but change the settings of the fan could actually disable or enable it.

I just upgraded my CPU from Pentium B960 i5 - 2540 m. It works fine, but I think that the Turbo is disable. Frequency can not up to 3.3 ghz. I tried some benchmarks and cpu to 2.6 stay.

As we can see that this processor is compatible with this g7 pavilion:

My bios is insydeh20 F26 and is locked. I have no choice on Turbo boost. Only Intel VT virtualization.

I try to get into the bios with F10 + A and does not work.

Can someone help me to activate Turbo boost on my i5?

    Thank you

  • Why no Intel Turbo Boost only downloads for laptop Lenovo?

How is manfucaturers all include a copy of the Intel Turbo Boost their section of downloads of drivers, but Lenovo is not?

Is - this crucuial of CPU overclock properly? I mean, it also contains some kind of pilot in addition to monitoring app or what?

Intel turbo boost is activated and functional on y570. From what I noticed, in heat mode there is always enanbled until the CPU reaches 90 degrees, then it turns off for a minute or two and who returns usually CPU/GPU to 80-84 and then re-active again (it starts no limitation, it disables only turbo). IMO, it's quite reasonable behavior, 90 degrees is not too high temperatures for these CPU/GPU. If you wish, you can monitor cpu temps/multipliers/freqs, through many utilities, I use hwinfo32 for her.
About drivers - as far as I know windows/macOS, I think, support for linux intel turbo boost out of the box, so I don't think that all drivers are needed to fight against it.

Edit: it seems that I was right. A little more info on turbo boost . The first paragraph explains that no additional drivers will be required for all major OS.
