encryption for certificate authentication module

What cryptographic libraries are used by Dreamweaver CC 2014 and 2015 to connect safely to the FTP sites? Is - this FIPS 140-2 compatible? What are the types of certificates it accepts?

Take a look at the section SFTP in to connect to a remote server using Dreamweaver

• Certificate authentication mode?

I want to try to build a more secure LAN. I want that every client (with or without wire) to connect the network used a certificate not a username/password pair.

But now, as I am a newbie, I don't know what to choose between GANYMEDE + and RADIUS. Because I have a Mac mini, RAY is perhaps more appropriate, but I don't know how to establish the certification authority.

Any help or suggestion will be appreciated!

More generally, we do this in the context of the implementation of a product as of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE). ISE uses 802. 1 x and has the ability to check clients for things such as a certificate during authentication / posture assessment / remediation process.

Also, it acts as a RADIUS server, and can dynamically remove permission (CoA) change to the authenticator (i.e. switch or wireless controller) to control things like the assignment of VLAN client and everything you can apply access lists.

Client side, a supplicant is used to interact with the authenticator. You can use native supplicants to OS X or Windows, etc, but we generally recommend use of the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility client with its access network (NAM) Module, because it is much more complete for this purpose.

You could also make 802. 1 x with certificate authentication and use an authentication server different backend (like a regular Cisco ACS or Microsoft Network Policy Server), but you get only basic authentication more vs rich functionality what ISE gives (although ISE is much more ;)).

Take a look at this Youtube video for an example of setting up certificates of authentication on ACS:

• ISE-based certificate authentication

Hello

I am developing an understanding of certificate based authentication using EAP - TLS on the ISE. My question is do we really certificate authentication profile (CAP) even if it is enough just to perform certificate-based authentication and we don't are not interested in setting up authorization rules based on which field of the certificate was specified as username in the CAP. I'm asking this because I think that probably in certificate based authentication, ISE has just need to check the validity of the certificate and if it was signed by a certification authority that it can check by looking in the certificate store. Please let me know if I have the wrong concept.

I am curious to know what the whole purpose of CAP? I read in a book that:

To validate the identity ISE must ensure that the credentials are valid. In the case of authentication based on certificates, it must determine if:

The digital certificate was issued and signed by a certification authority (CA).

The certificate has expired (check the dates of the beginning and end).

The certificate has been revoked.

The customer has provided evidence of possession.

This certificate has the correct use of the key, the critical extensions and extended values present key usage.

So in above listed points where is used specifically for CAP?

Thank you for taking the time to answer.

Kind regards

Quesnel

Hi, Quesnel, I'll try to answer your points as best I know :)

#1) I don't really know what the mechanics of ISE are when it comes to the CAP. It is however a snip-it of the Cisco Design Guide:

S certificate of authentication profiles (CAP) are used in the rules of authentication for authentication based on certificates. The CAP sets certain attributes in the certificate to find out & use as a source of additional identity. For example, if the username is in the CN = field of the certificate, you can create a COURSE that examines the CN = field. Then these data can be used and verified against other sources of identity, such as Active Directory

http://www.Cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/solutions/collateral/enterprise/design-zone-security/howto_60_byod_certificates.PDF

(#2), you should be able to set a COURSE and use it as a storage of identity without the need to put in a sequence. I've done several times and just re - confirm is it possible in my lab. Please check again :)

(#3) une sequence of identity store lets examine you more than one identity store. In addition, it defines defines the order in which the Sources of identity are questioned. Once a match is found, the process stops and the information returned to ISE.

• OBIEE 101341 & password for ldap authentication

Hello

We strive to implement LDAP authentication for our users to obiee using ADSI option. The users passwords are encrypted to the LDAP server. Support for OBIEE LDAP authentication mechanism - only clears passwords to verify the credentials of the user?

We tried once in the past to set the LDAP authentication, when we were on 782 Analytics Siebel and Oracle said encrypted passwords don't are not supported for LDAP authentication in this version od Siebel Analytics 782. Now that we have upgraded to OBIEE 101341, we want to try again and see. Any body let me know if the OBIEE LDAP authentication mechanism supports passwords encrypted in the clear.

• A web service for windows authentication

Hello
I have a number of web services on a windows server.
These web services are for a program client (in vb.net), access and retrieve data.
This client program are launching for the PC of the individual user.
The above configuration is in a windows domain.
Currently, web services allow anonymous access. This means that anyone in the Organization, with the correct URL is able to trigger the web service.
We are asked to remove anonymous access and all forms authentication configuration.
Questions

1. What is the best practice for configuration for a web service for windows authentication.

2. We also have a couple of unix servers. They are required to access the web services (with the correct authentication). How can I get a cross-environment configuration?
Thanks in advance.

It is useless to ask technical questions in the forum Feedback so I moved your message on the forum 'Making in network and get online' Windows. However, you neglected to mention your version of Windows. Please provide that.

Your router provided with documentation that describes the values by factory default, including encryption. Most routers have no active encryption when fresh from the factory.

• How is the SHA hash for a generated module?

Hello

I was wondering if someone had more information about the CodeModuleManager.getModuleHash () method? The API says:

"Returns the algorithm SHA hash in a module."

I've used it before and it gives me what looks like a SHA1 hash. The only problem is, I'm not able to reproduce this hash by generating a SHA or SHA1 hash using my computer.

For example:

If the BlackBerry gives me 02A826682116ED6A7B9B4429CAAFD2DF198A29F7 for the net_rim_app_manager module, running the same .cod file does not provide me with a corresponding number:

azazel:tmp sheran$ openssl sha net_rim_app_manager.cod SHA(net_rim_app_manager.cod)= 03804aa899166d0eed95ddf3a758446c2159ee4b

azazel:tmp sheran$ openssl sha1 net_rim_app_manager.cod SHA1(net_rim_app_manager.cod)= 7feebefdad9a39d98c70d0282cca935fd2dc55fe

My questions:

1. How did this hash generated for a specific module?

2. how the calculation would be different for a module with many brothers and sisters?

Thank you

Sheran

The tail of each signed module is a list of signatures. When you calculate the SHA-1 hash, you must exclude this part of the binary file to hash.

When a module is composed of several modules, it is in fact a ZIP file. Each ZIP entry that contains a module (brother) has its own hash and signatures. Easiest way to test this is to decompress the. COD file and calculate the values of the hash for each file.

• Recommendations for VPN authentication

So, now that Cisco has helped me get the vpn works on my ASA 5525-X I need to use an active administrator for the authentication/grouping of customers for several profiles in anyconnect.

My question is what is the simpler and more effective way of setting this up. I have a R2 2012 NAP server that is used to authenticate the AD users for access to the switches. But should I use that for ASA as well or can I use AD directly to the ASA?

A reminder to those who have not seen my posts, I'm very new to the ASA and the need to get this up and running quickly... Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Stacey

Hi Stacey,

You can use the Windows Server direct to the ASA, it uses the LDAP protocol. You will need to implement the ASA like this:

AAA-Server LDAP-SRV protocol ldap
AAA-Server LDAP-SRV (inside) host XXXXXXXXX--> IP address of the server
LDAP-base-dn DC = vpn, DC = also, DC = com--> where users are stored
LDAP-connection-dn CN = ASA-LDAP-user, CN = Users, DC = vpn, DC = also, DC = com--> the entire AD tree.
LDAP-login-password *--> the administrator password
LDAP-naming-attribute sAMAccountName
LDAP-scope subtree
microsoft server type

Now, you need to get the login DN: and the base dn. Now on the ad, you need to create several user groups and divide the users for different levels of authorization as: salespeople, employees...

You can test the authentication by using this command:

test the aaa server for authentication LDAP_SRV host XXXXXX username: password XXXXX: XXXX

and then see if it fails, then you can solve the problem

You can then configure the mapping of LDAP attributes to MAP a group of users on the server of advertising to a group policy on the SAA.
