Energy via SNMP

I was asked to collect periodically switches using SNMP data.

The command 'Show power' gives me information on the command line (see below), but I can't find the data via SNMP. This data is available via SNMP? Is something specific must be activated to enable it? The switch in question runs the software following if it helps.

  • SGE2010 how to trigger backups via SNMP?

    Hello

I've tried, so unsucessfully, to trigger backups on our switches SGE201 TFTP server. I have backups testesd TFTP through the web interface, and who does not. I need SNMP as I need a method for trgiger scriptable backups on a regular basis. I run the query SNMP from a RedHat Linux server. So far, I have the following query worked, but it is a failure:

    snmpset - v - 1 c COMMUNITY SWITCH. MGMT. JPM ADDRESS 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.87.2.1.7 I have 2 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.87.2.1.8 I have 3 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.87.2.1.9 has TFTP.SERVER.IP.ADDRESS 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.87.2.1.11 s 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.6.1.101.87.2.1.17 FILE name I have 4

The error I get is generic, and the same query failed on several switches operating the 3.0.0.18 software. The switch is set with the community having full access from the IP address of the SNMP-admin server.

If someone here was able to run SNMP triggers backups and would be ready to post their query and/or software that would be greatly appreciated. Any other suggestions, comments or tips are also welcome. Thank you for your time.

    Jeff,

The procedure to download or update the config via SNMP is as follows:

    (1) download the MIB files that we officially freed from cisco.com

    http://www.Cisco.com/Cisco/software/release.html?mdfid=282414069&flowid=3650&softwareid=283415684&release=3.0.0&relind=available&rellifecycle=&RelType=latest

    (2) compile the MIB on MIB browser in format for example MG-SOFT, Kortright. Make sure that there is no error in compilation.

    (3) configure SNMPv2 or SNMPv3 accordingly on switch SGE2010

    (4) search for the CISCOSBCopy.mib file.

    The OID is SNMPv2 - SMI:enterprises (1.3.6.1.4.1) .cisco (9) .otherEnterpise (6) .ciscosb (1) .odm1 (101). CISCOSBCopy (87)

With the help of rlCopyTable (2), create a new entry on this particular table:

    a. rlCopyRowStatus: 4 (createAndgo)

    b. rlCopySourceLocation: 1 (local)
    c. rlCopySourceIpAddress: 0.0.0.0

    d. rlCopySourceUnitNumber: 1
    e. rlCopySourceFileName: (empty)
    f. rlCopySourceFileType: 3 (config startup), 2 is for execution of config

    g. rlCopyDestinationLocation: 3 (tftp)
    h. rlCopyDestinationIpAddress: 192.168.10.22 (ip address of the tftp server)

    i. rlCopyDestinationUnitNumber: 1
    j. rlCopyDestinationFileName: 0 x 61: 62:63 (in hexadecimal, abc)

By doing this, it should be able to backup startup config devices unit to remove the tftp server.

  • PowerConnect 5548P Fatal Error - SNMP-F-BADTDOMAIN

I have a stacked with 6 units of 5548P switch and I followed their status and basic via SNMP using Spiceworks and PRTG info.  Yesterday we had a weird breakdown where all the ports on the unit 4 are off (indicator HDMI and StackID remained upward) affecting traffic and POE devices connected to this unit.

  • R420 SNMP memory status

    Hello

I try to get the status of memory via snmp on R420, idrac7, bios version 1.5.2 firmware 1.57.57. I am able to get other statutes as cpu but memory. IDRAC-MIB that i've got has supported the following responsible OID:

    memoryDeviceStatus 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.5.4.1100.50.1.5

    but I can't do:

    $ snmpwalk - v 2 c-c 192.168.1.30 public 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.5.4.1100.50.1.5
ISO.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.5.4.1100.50.1.5 = No. Such Instance already exists for this OID

the same goes for systemStateMemoryDeviceStateDetails - 1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.5.4.200.10.1.26

and all the other related memory OID. I can see memory in FRU data but not what I would use.

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Ok. It seems that finally sorted. OID is not accessible when memory-> system memory test is disabled. Which is the default (!). Obviously, it is not editable without rebooting is a trap for production approx.

I don't know why associated as only requested docu "Indicates if tests memory BIOS software-based system are carried out during the POST.". " »

  • Cisco Nexus 3548/3524 SNMP Interface traffic problem

    Hi all!

I would like to share with you the problem I've encountered SNMP interface respect tracking on the Cisco Nexus 3500 of traffic devices.

We is transferring our network infrastructure in the Nexus and we encountered a problem with the interface bitrate of tracking traffic on Nexus 3548: deltas SNMP counter ifHCInOctets and ifHCOutOctets show no valid data.

We have investigated this issue and figured he could be linked with the refresh rate of the meter.
I measured, by snmpwalk, the time between simple increments the counter ifHCInOctets to Interface VLAN and it apears to about 140seconds. But for physical interfaces (Eth), the interval of interface SNMP counters are 15 seconds and with sampling frequency of the 1960s for the queries we can still observe the problems on graphs (see attached screnshot).

We get the same results when testing the question on various physical devices (3548 Nexus) on versions of different software - including the last being.

And for Ethernet interfaces (same NMS - ZABBIX-config):

We tested a wide Huawei s6700 switches and the range of Cisco IOS devices and there is no such problems.

The main problem is that we cannot monitor our crucial nexus, via SNMP devices (as you can see from the attached chart).  Results are the same when configure us Cacti or Zabbix to monitor Nexus devices.

The results of this monitoring not having meritorical value or use.

We are working on this case with Cisco TAC, and they manage to reproduce the problem in their LAB environment. But for now, they cannot provide any solution and they claim that this isn't a bug. If we get any final statement for this case, I'll post here for your information.

I'll be more than happy if you can post ideas that help me solve the problem described.

    Thank you in advance!

    Angel,

You're right, '(IP - MIB) ARP table entries' MIB was introduced in 4.0 (1) and you have to upgrade to 4.0 code to get to the ARP Table via SNMP MIB.

And here is the document that contains information on the FWSM upgrade.

  • Access PIX NIC canoe internal via VPN

    Hello

We have a customer with a PIX 515 we installed and we have a private network virtual of our office to them. We communicate to all their guests behind the PIX over the good VPN configuration (telnet) and monitoring (SNMP). We want to control the PIX via snmp as well. We are unable to access the internal ip address of the NIC through the VPN. We can not ping, telnet or use SNMP to it.

The VPN works great as I said above, but is there anything else I need to do to allow access to the internal IP of NIC address?

This is the normal behavior of Pix. You cannot communicate with a Pix interface unless it's the only one to receive the traffic. Therefore, you can monitor and communicate with the outside/IP of the Pix from the Web interface.

BTW... This changed in Pix v6.3 that came out yesterday. You can use the command [management-access] to manage your Pix using his IP address private through a VPN tunnel.

  • SNMP VS. Syslog

    Hello

    Thank you

    Haitham

    Hi Haitham,

SNMP provides limited/specific type of newspapers through traps, for example, restarting the system, BGP. ATS and so on.

For example, in the router, you can see snmp options via "snmp-Server enable traps?

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/Tech/tk648/tk362/technologies_tech_note09186a008021de3e.shtml

Syslog will generate and send logs syslog level that allowed you to be sent to MARS. Recommended level is information so that you can collect all the information/events in a specific device. But you can always specify this level based on the criticality of the device.

SNMP and Syslog complement each other in order to provide accurate and sufficient information to be processed by MARCH. NetFlow is also an excellent source of information.
