Enterprise Manager validate patch diet provides insufficient space for cloning

Hello, all, Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12.1.0.3.

Trying to patch 11 database of g 11.2.0.3 with Group of patches PSUOCT14.

Plan patch fails with:

Not enough space for Clone and patch: Required - 12129752KB

PREREQ_STATUS: FAILURE

PREREQ_MESG: Not enough space for the cloning and patching Oracle Home: ora/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_3. There must be a free area of 12129752 Kilo bytes to/tmp

It's true, my/tmp dir is short on the disc.

Anyone know how to point EMCC to another location for disk temp?  I fixed vars of TEMP and TMP environment without result.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Answer is updated emStageDir in the properties file.

See deployment procedure is not due to insufficient/tmp space (Doc ID 1507091.1).

Thanks for the reply!

    I had a problem with Lightroom on Microsoft Surface 3.  I added a 128 gB microSD card to provide the space for my photos, (a second hard drive) but lightroom won't let me not import all the pictures that are already on the map.  The only import option is 'copy', not 'Add '.  I worked around this by mounting a network directory containing photos and imported from there.  Is it possible to stop Lightroom to see such a map as a camera?

    I have not tested, but it should work with Lightroom:

  • Insufficient space for 12.1.0.2 install despite a TMP and TMPDIR setting

    Hello

    Oracle wants 11 GB of space for tmp install 12.1.0.2.  It's on RHEL 5 x 86.  It is said that my system only 1,999 Go. The 12 c install manual found here

    http://docs.Oracle.com/database/121/LADBI/usr_grps.htm#LADBI7678

    said to set the TMP and TMPDIR environment vars to a location that has enough space, but it does not work. I set tmpdir to a location with 154 GB of free space, but the installer doesn't seem to be using the reactive power.

    I always get

    "It is a prerequisite to check if sufficient total swap space is available on the system. (more details)

    Expected value

    : GB 11.7292 (1.2298908E7KB)

    «: GB 1,9994 (2096472,0 KB)»

    Anyone encountered this?

    Well, I decided to ignore the error and lo-and-behold, Oracle installer uses TMP or TMPDIR, during installation, can I see the space down to the location specified by these vars, while the space in / tmp remains unchanged.

    Sorry to have wasted your time, but I thank you for reading if you did.

  • Files of the Update Manager (download patches) eat space on the system drive. Need a way to migrate the files to another volume.

    I am using vCenter 5.1 U3 with Windows 2008 server R2 edition. C: drive have 64 GB, but most of the time get alert as C: drive is full. When I checked that the folder "Program Data" Update Manager from the c: server busy more than space. I suspect that download files eat my space.

    is it possible to change the location of the download files?

    Hi Mike,.

    To change the default download location:

    1. open the vci - C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\Update Manager\vci integrity.xml - integrity.xml.

    Note: In 64-bit Windows, the default file location is C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\Infrastructure\Update Manager\vci - integrity.xml.

    Search for patchStore.

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware update Manager\Data\

    Note: Your new directory is empty and contain valid metadata. Copy the data from the old directory, or run the update vCenter Update Manager download.

    Replace the location with the favorite place.

    Save and close the file.

    2. restart the VMware vSphere Update Manager Service.

    I hope this helps with your problem.

  • With Standard Edition database DB from Enterprise Manager management packs.

    Hi all

    As far as I know Enterprise Manager 11g is free to install, but not management pack.
    I want to install 11g Grid control in my environment but I got all my oracle Standard edition databases.
    So my question is that:
    Which one would use one of the following management pack in my Enterprise manager 11g grid control environment?

    Below is the text copied from EM 11 g Documentation

    Enterprise Manager offers the following packs of the Oracle database:

    Pack of diagnostics for the Oracle database.

    Tuning Pack for Oracle Database+.

    Management of change for Oracle Database pack+.

    Configuration Management Pack for the Oracle database.

    Provisioning and Patch Automation Pack for Oracle Database+.

    Hide data Pack for Oracle Database+.

    These management packs can be purchased only with Enterprise Edition. The features of these packs are available through Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control and Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control and API provided with the Oracle database software.

    Thank you very much
    Hems

    Not exactly, but you can not register with anything other than Enterprise Edition management packs.

    You can continue to use the Grid control to monitor the availability of database and server and perform tasks to others, but the features available in these management packs (as the 'Performance', or patch management tab and so on) will not work. It still provides a value without these packs.

  • How to "Wisely" lock Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud control 12 c Release 4 (12.1.0.4)

    Hello guys.

    I have a situation where non-technical people "was" and "are" using GRID control to kill session they "think" are originally from the problems of performance based only on the actual color of the moving window of Performance.

    When I was told this, I got a feeling very sick in my stomach and said to this person that they are VERY lucky they have not corrupted in the database of PROD AGAIN!

    First Question:

    How to recognize these people who kill sessions they run the RISK completely hose PROD and could experienced LOSS OF DATA REAL if something goes wrong.

    Second Question:

    Because I'm just sur-monte to this place, should I wait a little before the implementation of new safety standards and to run the risk of harming someone ego?

    Please advise,

    Thank you

    Lady Allora...

    The permissions to kill sessions are not provided by Enterprise Manager. EM is just the application they use to do this. They might also kill sessions with SQL * Plus, SQL Developer, or anything else. In EM, they authenticate to the database with an account. It is this database account that offers their privileges to perform this action. The appropriate security controls must be handled in the database.

    When I was a new kid in a business, the first thing I did was examine and test backup and restore procedures. The second thing I did was to make my own security audit of the database. I found a lot of articles where I felt that the security of the database was in jeopardy. You have found an item and it is likely that you'll find much more of these elements. I recorded all the elements found in a spreadsheet and ranked in order of importance to fix. I then had a discussion with my directors on my security results. We went through the items one by one and discusses why it is important to clean up this line item. This gave me an action plan which has been approved by the management in the future. In many cases, I had to define corporate policies and create new processes. Those who once could make ActionX in the database still needed to do their job when I revoked their ability to do so. These people would need something new in place to help resolve or manage anything ever ActionX for them.

    do you think that I am ready to go for EM13c with my oracle 12 c 12.1.0.2.0?

    Yes, it is exactly what it says. Actually, I'm just now on a call about the EM13, so I'll come if I hear something interesting that I am allowed to share.

  • Size of the DB for very basic Enterprise manager Installation

    Platform: Oracle Linux 6.5

    DB version: 11.2.0.4

    OEM version: Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud control 12 c Release 5 (12.1.0.5)

    We do a test/CEP of OEM. So, I'll install all components below in a single server.

    Service of management of Oracle, Oracle Management Agent + Oracle Management repository

    The target will be just a DB of RAC 2 nodes.

    I would like to know how much space is needed for the WHO database files.

    According to the "table 11-3 Oracle Enterprise Manager features storage minimum" in the below URL, I need at least 17 GB.

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E24628_01/install.121/e24089/sizing.htm#EMADV11840

    MGMT_TABLESPACE - 15 GB

    MGMT_ECM_DEPOT_TS - 1 GB

    Tablespace Temp - 1 GB

    -----

    Total 17 GB

    But, I only have a 2 node RAC DB monitor. Not sure how many objectives in a 2 RAC node. Less than 30 I guess.

    So, I do actually 17 Go?

    So, I do actually 17 Go?

    You could. I have a small installation of EM, little in terms of targets managed, and I push 18 GB. So this could be an estimate to lose.

    Is this really a problem? In today's environments, 17 GB is a small amount of storage.

    See you soon,.

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager 12 c + Postgresql plugin

    Hello guys,.

    We would like to install OEM on several servers with the plugin for monitoring Postgres.
    Our question is, is - legal - do we need pay any type of OEM license, or it is a free software that we can install anywhere.

    Just for the record, we don't have any DBs Oracle on our servers.

    Thanks for the info!

    See you soon,.

    David

    OEM itself is free. It contains a license restricted for DB Oracle store its data (unless you need a database with RAC for highly available environment, which must be licensed).

    What is granted are adapters. In particular, one for PostgreSQL seems to be provided by a third party company - see Oracle Enterprise Manager Plugin for PostgreSQL | Medora blue

    Whatever it is, check with these guys here impact license to be on the right side.

  • How to configure Enterprise Manager Database Control (MCCD) to make it work on 2 servers (primary and standby) work according to the rules of the DG

    Hello everyone I use Oracle Database EE 11.2.0.4 with DG.

    In these cases, I need to get Enterprise Manager Database Control running against DB with no CARS and no DG I do the following:

    I have SQLPLUS logon as user SYS or SYSTEM and drop the account sysman and business objects:

    DECLARE

    CURSOR c1 IS

    SELECT master, synonym_name name

    OF dba_synonyms

    WHERE table_owner = "SYSMAN";

    BEGIN

    TO r1 c1 LOOP

    IF r1.owner = "PUBLIC" THEN

    RUN IMMEDIATELY "DROP PUBLIC SYNONYM ' |" R1. Name;

    ON THE OTHER

    RUN IMMEDIATELY "DROP SYNONYM ' |" R1. Owner: '. ' || R1. Name;

    END IF;

    END LOOP;

    END;

    /

    Mgmt_view DROP USER CASCADE;

    /

    DROP ROLE mgmt_user;

    /

    Sysman DROP USER CASCADE;

    /

    After that, I run

    EMCA - config dbcontrol db-rest recreate

    But what do I do in case I have 2 servers (primary and standby) work according to the rules of the DG?

    Hello

    It is not possible to monitor and administer a basic physical or logical standby, IE using Enterprise Manager Database Control Data Guard.  This is mainly due to the fact that Database Control is designed to monitor the 1-database and an environment Data Guard, by definition, includes more than 1 database.

    If you attempt to run emca against a database of pending, you will get an error like (i.e. ORA-01219: database is not open).

    Of course, database Control, can be used to monitor the current main database (with no capacity to administer or control Data Guard related features).  In such a case, failover Database Control needs to be reconfigured to run on the new primary database using the commands described in detail in Note 278100.1 how to remove, create and recreate DB Control In A Database, section c. recreate/ReConfig DB control, Option 2 10 g. recreate the control DB Configuration files and repository.

    Enterprise Manager Grid Control or Cloud control provides the functionality for display, monitor, and administer the primary and standby databases in a Data Guard configuration.

    Reference: It is Possible to configure the database for a logical or physical Standby Database command? (Doc ID 315116.1)

    You can effectively use EM 12 c cloud control to monitor and manager ensures DB

  • The OIF using Enterprise Manager - metadata configuration expiry date

    I'm trying to set up the OIF for the integration of the OAM - OIF and talk to our identity provider. We are a customer of Fusion HCM hosted on request.

    Here are the steps to go to the screen

    Enterprise Manager right click on OIF > Administration > Security and trust > metadata provider > Generate

    Currently, the number of days is limited to no more than 120 days. We would replace the metadata of all file 120 days in IdP system. Follow us a process of pretty eloborate for PDI system changes so I wanted to know is there a way to allow metadata to be valid for more than 120 days (say 1 year or 2 years something that most of the other SP's)

    We are on OOD hosted implementation of the HCM, so we have full access to the intermediate layer OIF/OIM/OAM, then I'll be okay if you can tell me where the new metadata file is stored so that I can change to be valid for more than 120 days.

    Thank you
    David

    Published by: user535400 on May 20, 2013 11:17

    The expiration of metadata is not configurable. It is set to 120 days to encourage the suppliers approved SAML periodically check and make sure that their local copy is in harmony with the metadata currently in force for the OIF Service provider. In practice, the change metadata are very rare (server certificate renewal, the endpoint URL changes) and are made with sufficient notice to enable the partners to plan for change.

    Please file an ER if your needs dictate that the expiration of metadata be configurable.
