Entity and attribute transformation of names (case-sensitive) to the relational model

Hello

For the names of entities and attributes, I would use camel casing, e. g. AccessRightGroup (or the right access group) and its translation to the relational model in the Table name access_right_groups. I found, I can do in the entity properties > General > abbreviation preferred by writing the name of the table you want in this area. But I guess that there is a more elegant way by setting that breaks are transformed into small capital and underlined and entity (set) becomes plural as table. Is there such a possibility?

How that would make the camel case attributes?

Best regards, Robert

Hi Robert,.

case-sensitive, you must set 'Title case' as a separator for logic model in the design properties dialog box "settings > naming standards '-c' is for this form of the names AccessRightGroup; for group of access rights that you need not change anything - the default separator is set to 'space '.

For the plural in the relational model, you need a glossary with defined plurals - however it only works for the entity name unique term. I logged an ER to change this.

Tiny in a relational model - well you must set to relational model - in the Properties dialog box - "(Naming options > Table, cas de caractères...-mis à baisser et le nom sera mis dans cette affaire àle cours de la transformation) - otherwise you always can use the script provided with Data Modeler to convert the names of all the lower/upper cases."

  • Unwrapping names of foreign key in relational model

    Hello

In the process of the engineer to the relational model, foreign keys get automatically wrapped. Is there somewhere a (preferably) parameter to avoid this problem? Or a function in a single step? Currently, I have to select each name and make it wider, which is very tedious. And they run again after another engineer to the relational model.

If there is no option, I would ask for an improvement allow this. Thank you very much.

Sorry, a step is missing - 2.1 close design (after registration)

Basically when I say save design, close it and open it, that can be applied to the model itself - save, close, load - from browser

Why are case-sensitive in the wrong place after conversion?

If you want Acrobat to replicate your results, you must either use a program layout (as Design) or select the Adobe PDF printer in the print of your application menu before making your layout. Most processors redistribute the document based on the printer which is attached (i.e., it uses the settings of the printer). If you change the printer so that in WORD for example, the layout in WORD can change radically. This is what happens when you use the Adobe PDF printer. This isn't a question of Acrobat, but a word processor.

MS out of printer settings in WORD with the first version of OFFICE 2007, but it seems to be back on by default. I guess they found, there was reason to leave it on (the box is buried in the menu options in WORD). This aspect of reflow is one thing that creates major problems for developers of WORD forms of WORDS. Depending on the machine, the shape may ebb and part go to the next page if not careful (I've had these types of forms before, particularly where people are trying to learn a lot on the page).

Neither one of us know if we have answered your question because you give enough information to be able to tell. The key for almost any application is to change the printer to the Adobe PDF printer before you do business with any document. On my laptop, the Adobe PDF printer is the default and modify other printers if I happen to be connected to them.

  • Term plurals changes the name of the foreign key in the relational model

    Hello

I use a glossary with plurals for entities such as Budget turned to the budgets of the table in the relational model. Unfortunately (for me) it also changes the name of the foreign key. In the related entity, an attribute (for example) is Budget_fiscal year, I expect in the relational model, being the same, but it is transformed into budgets_fiscal_year (budgets in the plural rather than keep him in singular form).

How can I avoid any change in the attribute names (in the process of engineering in the relational model) but always turn the names of entities from the singular to the plural names for tables?

    Thank you and best regards

    Robert

    Hi Philippe

Your suggestion 1) works - thank you! budgets_fiscal_year is the attribute of pk exercise in my budget of the entity. It seems a standard behavior of the Data Modeler to compose the UID of the relationship of budgets_fiscal_year (for some reason, this column is not taken the logical model, but the relational model). I would prefer that it be appointed budget_fiscal_year.

I have not defined any parameter for this (intentionally). But maybe somewhere there by default. Could you tell me where the design parameters in Data Modeler to learn how to configure the definitions mentioned in 2)?

As I'm always busy with the model of reverse engineering data, I'll wait for DM 4.1.1.888.

    Hi Erik,

    (1) you should check the separation settings in general options > Naming Standard - it should be 'space' for the logic model and "underscore" for the relational model;
    (2) ' apply the translation of the names of "must be selected in the technical dialogue

  • Data Modeler: changing attribute Table grayed out (in the relational model)

I use SQL Developer Data model version 2.0.0 build 584.

I have a relational model of appr. 30 paintings. For some tables, the display of attributes is grayed out, not allowing not of any change of the values. I have a feeling that this was due to an import/merge views of database, but for me this quite annoying because it prevents modelling activities further on these tables.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the reason for this? More importantly: how to remedy this situation?

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

Does anyone have an idea what could be the reason for this

the reason is probably the difference in design name and name in the next item in the XML of the table:

It is interesting how you did this.

More importantly: how to remedy this situation?

You can try ' Save as ' to save the design in a different directory.

  • Name of the CRA in the logic model is ignored when the Relatation model engineering

When I use a bow in my logical model and I'll give it an appropriate name, this name is not used when the report model is generated. Data Modeler named the same arc in the FKArc_1 relationship model for example. And I'll have to rename it manually.

    Is this a known issue?

How can I remove unused assets from my library?

Of course, the easy answer is to verify the account of its use and remove anything from scratch.

But, how can ensure me that I don't remove an asset that has a counter for the use of zero, BUT is loaded by Actionscript?

Is the library > select unused items sensitive to this?

    Hi Greg,.

In Flash Pro when you right-click in the library and choose "Select unused items" symbols with link names get selected. Thus the cases you mentioned above is supported.

  • FWD entity engineering of relational model name changes?

I changed a name of entity in my logical model after generating a relational model. But I can't understand how having SDDM (3.0.0.665) to propagate this change to the relational model.

In the screen of the engineer to the relational model, if I select the entity changed tree, in the details pane, there is a checkbox next to the Name property (this line indicates the gap between relational and logical name) "Selected" but I can't check it out. Comparison/copy in this same dialog box Options tab, the checkbox next to name is enabled. But, when I send an engineer the name is not changed.

After changing the name of the entity, select the relational model engineer
Down at the bottom, select the tab General options.
Select apply the translation of names
    Engineer

Now the name will change in the relational model.

  • Transformation of table names and a column in the logic model (CCM)

In addition to my previous question on the transformations of the relational model logical I would like to set for the names of tables like school_units to become SchoolUnit when you do: engineer to the logic model. Ditto for the columns for attributes, i. e. I would like to convert a column of class_sign to classSign.
With the help of Philip Stoyanov, I could set the mixed case to emphasize the shape of logic to the relational model. But now I can't engineer to the logic model without losing all the work accomplished in the logic model (concerning the designation of entities and attributes).

    Best regards, Robert

    Hi Robert,.

You can try to define "Incomplete modifiers" in your glossary so the name validation will not fail (against the glossary) because it is existing only don't not in the glossary of terms.

If the name is not recognised as valid then separator is changed, but setting camel case is not considered - I logged a bug about this.

  • 'Find' is case-sensitive and the option does not appear on the search bar

As I said, it is case sensitive. I looked for an answer and everyone says uncheck case-sensitive on the search bar, but he's not here. I am on a mac with os x 10.9.4 using Firefox 32.0.1.

I thought about it. I had to restart with disabled addons. I don't know which extension caused the problem, but the change stuck when I re-enabled the addons.

SELECT queries are case insensitive. To perform a search case-sensitive,
You must add the binary before the search value. If you have
used Dreamweaver Log server behavior to the user, you must go to
Mode Code to modify the SQL query, which should look something like this:

$LoginRS__query = sprintf ("SELECT username, pwd FROM users WHERE
    user name = %s AND pwd = %s',
    GetSQLValueString ($loginUsername, "text"),
    GetSQLValueString (password$, "text"));

    Change to this:

$LoginRS__query = sprintf ("SELECT username, pwd FROM users WHERE username =
    BINARY %s AND pwd = BINARY %s. "
    GetSQLValueString ($loginUsername, "text"),
    GetSQLValueString (password$, "text"));

Who will uphold the case looking for the username and password.

  • not case sensitive UNIX commands?

    Howdy,

Maybe the books on Unix I use are just too old and not OS X specific. But they all say that the commands are case-sensitive, while system variables are.

For example, ls and LS both work in the way as described in the books. I searched the internet and I saw concerns using the auto-completion tab being case-sensitive, but nothing regarding orders. But the answers regarding the tab thing throws blame on HFS not being is not case-sensitive. So if I understand correctly, orders are in fact files and therefore HFS design and there are a not case-sensitive. What is a good conclusion?

    Thank you very much

    DN

Hmm, I guess I meant are tiny, while variables are uppercase in the traditional Unix system of things.
