Entries in tnsnames.ora after installing Oracle Xpress Edition 10.2

Hi friends,

I installed Xpress Edition 10.2 in my machine.

The following entries are found in the tnsnames file.
XE =
  (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = home-d578f1168d)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
      (SERVER = DEDICATED)
      (SERVICE_NAME = XE)
    )
  )

EXTPROC_CONNECTION_DATA =
  (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
      (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC_FOR_XE))
    )
    (CONNECT_DATA =
      (SID = PLSExtProc)
      (PRESENTATION = RO)
    )
  )

ORACLR_CONNECTION_DATA =
  (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
      (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC_FOR_XE))
    )
    (CONNECT_DATA =
      (SID = CLRExtProc)
      (PRESENTATION = RO)
    )
  )
Out of these 3 entries, the first SID is the SID of the instance of oracle running on the computer.

What is the usefulness of the 2 other SIDs?

Kind regards
Anthony Alix.

These last 2 are for the external procedure access. It is an ICC (interprocess communication or based on memory rather than based network) connection TO the database with the listener.

ExtProc is used to enable the database connect outward to non-Oracle programs.

By default, PLSExtProc is used to describe the connection between dll and PL/SQL (if the security has been implemented correctly). The external program is given a wrapper that makes it look like the PL/SQL within the database and explains how to connect via the SID. You can get a lot more information in manuals database Net Services and database administrator.

By default, CLRExtProc is used for .net extensions. More info on http://www.oracle.com/pls/db111/portal.portal_db?selected=5&frame=#.net_and_windows_application_development

    Not sure why this is an entry in tnsnames.ora LISTENER? has been created by Oracle or etilefrine which previous s/n for a reason any. I can remove them tnsnames.ora files?

    Thank you

    Check the value of LOCAL_LISTENER and REMOTE_LISTENER in your database. I bet that one of them is LISTENERS_CCHPRD.

    It's for dynamic registration in case you use by default LISTEN on port 1521 and added to tnsnames.ora dbca. Do not delete it.

  • After installing Oracle 11 g 2, it shows - there is no installed products

    I am trying to install oracle 11 g 2 on my laptop on windows xp Service Pack 3. everything has to go right, but when it was installing dbca, when he arrived at 85% to install, it gave me following error...

    Enterprise manager configuration failed due to the error - next
    null
    See the log file at C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\cfgtoollogs\dbca\orcl\emConfig.log for more details.
    You can try this database with Enterprise Manager configuration later by manually running the script of C:\app\Administrator\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\bin\emca

    At the end I'll past the log as well.

    Now the problem is when I try to launch emca manually. It does not run. and then I decided to uninstall oracle 11 GR 2, but when I try to uninstall Oracle 11 GR 2 installer universal and clicked on installed product then he showed me the folling
    * "There is no installed products" * "
    It is strange to me. now I am confused what to do, the services are running, but I can't run the script of emca. I'm stuck, if any body can help me in this regard, I will be very thank ful...

    Hello
    What YES you use uninstall 11 GR 2? This means that you have also installed other oracle software on your laptop. 11 g, you cannot use YES uninstall 11 GR 2 software and you need to user uninstall utility instead. Either you can download uninstall utility of OTN, or alternatively, you can run it from the oracle home that you uninstall, as follows

    On your command prompt, replace ORACLE_HOME with the oracle home path on your laptop then execute following.
    ORACLE_HOME\deinstall\deinstall

    For OEM database control, your DBSNMP account is locked. Unblock this account.

    Follow step-by-step commands you set it up.

    emca -repos recreate

    emca -deconfig dbcontrol db

    emca -config dbcontrol db

  • Need sybase client after install oracle gateway?

    Dear all,

    I'm all new to this portal oracle to sybase, I try to create dblink Oracle EBS to sybase.
    Is there a step before or after this step of the installation:

    Universal Oracle install: the available product components

    a. select Oracle to Sybase 11.1.0.6.0 database gateway.

    b. click Next.

    Oracle to Sybase database gateway

    The database server host Sybase name - specify the host name of the machine hosting the database Sybase server.

    Sybase database server Port number - to specify the port number of the Sybase database server

    Database Sybase name - specify the Sybase database name

    Click next to continue.

    Should install us some sybase client or maybe set up some files before and after the installation?

    Help, please

    Concerning

    JOE

    Hey Joe,
    If you have installed the DG4Sybase you don't need to install Sybase software.
    The information requested during the installation are used to created ainit .ora file which is then used by the gateway to connect to the database Syabse.
    You can put in fake information and then manually change when the installation is complete.

    Also, you say you have installed Dg4Syabse 11.1.0.6, but it would be better to install and use the latest 11.2.0.3 version as suggested by Klaus in your other thread.

    The latest version of the software is currently 11.2.0.3 and it can be downloaded (and installed from scratch) of "My Oracle Support". Simply open the patches & updates section, look for Patch 10404530: 11.2.0.3.0 PATCH SET FOR ORACLE DATABASE SERVER and make sure you choose the platform you want to use. Then check out the readme file it lists, which of these download CD contains the gateway software.
    BTW, the CD contains DG4ODBC and DG4SYBS and it is up to you to decide during installation of which product you want to use.

    Kind regards
    Mike

  • Cannot get online after installing windows XP Edition family on my laptop which was origally XP PRO

    I have a laptop HP Compaq 6830 s that had xp professional did not get a disc of bone with it when buying. The system crashed 0x0000007B error code. I installed OS XP Home version Pro Version and now I't does not recognize my modem or ethernet. Cannot get online. I'll tho the HP site and they don't have that driver for XP Pro Downloads Home Version. I go to the Device Manager and have question marks on the following - ethernet controller (PCI bus 134, device 0, function 0), network controller (bus PCI 3, device 0, function 0), PCI Device (device function 27 of the PCI bus 0 0), Universal serial bus (PCI bus 0, device 29, function 7) (USB) Universal Serial Bus controller (bus PCI 0) (, 26, function 7 device), unknown device (on PCI bus) properties, the properties of the unknown device (on system compatible ACPI Microsoft) and the properties of video controller (VGA Compatible) (bus PCI 1, device 0, function 0) all the points mark have (Code 28). Is there any wat I can fix this or should I install OS XP PRO?

    Go here--> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html

    Enter the model of your computer.  If you just enter 'Compaq 6830 s' you get 3 choices.

    For example, I clicked on the link below and select the link for "XP Professional" coming to this page--> http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=3688717&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3688712&swLang=13&taskId=135&swEnvOID=1093

    You're right; There are a large number of items on this page.  You may be able to refine things if you enter your full product number, but if not, here are some general indications:

    "" For each of the downloads, click each tab on the download page and read the information on 'Description' improvements,' 'Instructions of Installation","System requirements"," Release Notes, "and"Revision history" before you install the downloaded driver.

    • Start by "Driver - Chipset" and use "9.1.0.1007 a (January 16, 2009).»
    • Then go to "driver - storage.»  Install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver.  Optional, but probably very desirable, install the new version of HP 3D DriveGuard.  You probably don't need (at least for now), the driver of chip card reader (unless you have an external drive of smart card).
    • Then go to "- Audio driver." Install the driver Microsoft UAA and the most recent drivers SoundMax ADI.
    • Then go to 'Pilot - graphics.' Install the new ATI video driver.
    • Then go to "driver - network."  It's a little more complicated.  Install the Marvel Yukon Gigabit Ethernet controller driver.  This will allow you to connect to your cable or DSL or your router by Ethernet cable.  You must determine if your particular laptop has an Intel or Broadcom wireless adapter.  Looking in the Device Manager in the "Network adapter" section, you should be able to make this identification.  Install the driver for the appropriate device.  If you believe that your laptop is Bluetooth compatible, install this driver as well.  The HP "wireless Wizard" is optional.  I would delay installing this at this stage.
    • Then go to "Driver - keyboard, mouse and input devices."  Install the Synaptics Touchpad driver and one for the HP Quick Launch buttons.

    At this point, most of your hardware should work correctly.  If there is always warning icons in Device Manager, you should be able to understand... or ask again here.  Read the 'Description' for other downloads to see if this is something you want or need.  Be aware, however, that many "Software" downloads are only updates or patches and not the complete package (which probably would have been preinstalled on a new computer.

  • How can I restore my programs after installing windows Ultimate edition?

    Hello, I do a final install of custom windows and all of my programs will come... How to restore it for example my iTunes and all games

    You can not copy programs from one computer to another, you must use the original media. A program installer does not just create a program folder and copy the files into it. The installer will change the registry, set the permissions of folders and files, save the files in the library used by programs and create all shortcuts.

    Unfortunately the backup options that include all Windows restore itself prevent a clean install.

  • ORA persistent-01034: ORACLE not available

    Hello
    I use Oracle database 11g Version 11.2.0.1.0 and IM having this problem seems not to have solved on my system...
    Im working directly with the Oracle computer is installed and I tried all the solutions I could find on the forum of the RTO for the ORA-01034 error, but none seems to work for me please someone have more ideas?
    EXPLANATION: first of all, I got this ORA-12505, so I applied a solution of forum OTN by editing the listener.ora file and added a SID_DESC more and it seemed to solve the error ORA-12505, whereupon I reboot my system and tried the connection, rather a new ORA-01034 error appeared.

    That's what my listener.ora file looks lik after that I edited it:

    Here are the solutions I tried for the 0RA-01034 BUT none WORKED
    (1) do you find in your sqlnet.ora an entry like SQLNET. AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS)? If so, change it to judgment SQLNET. AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NONE).
    (2) set oracle_sid = grms
    sqlplus/nolog
    Conn System/Manager have sysdba
    the judgment
    startup
    (3) change the name of the service to the CEILINGS
    Please, does anyone have any other ideas better... would be grateful. Thank you

    just try this >
    cmd > set ORACLE_SID = OBYYS
    cmd > sqlplus / as sysdba
    sqlplus > startup mount;
    sqlplus > show parameter db_recovery_file_dest_size

    increase the size of db_recovery_file_dest_size to a greater value of order below.

    sqlplus > alter system set db_recovery_file_dest_size = 6G;
    sqlplus > alter database open;

  • Problem to install Oracle 11 g - impossible to establish a remote connection

    In short:

    I just installed Oracle 11 g and created a data base and the headset, but I'm unable to connect remotely with a customer database.

    My environment:

    Oracle 11g is installed on a VirtualBox (4.3.18) Red Hat Linux 6.5 VM.  The host operating system is Mac OS X Yosemite.  Linux VM is assigned a static ip address and the host and vm have host entries to resolve this name server:

    192.168.58.152 rhel65opdev-vm

    I am able to ping rhel65opdev-vm from these two places.

    Host: 64 bytes from 192.168.58.152: icmp_seq = 0 ttl = 64 time = 0,287 ms

    VM: 64 bytes of rhel65opdev-vm (192.168.58.152): icmp_seq = 1 ttl = 64 time = 0.027 ms

    I am also able to ssh into the Linux vm without problem.  If I try to telnet to the virtual machine on the port of configured database:

    = > telnet rhel65opdev-vm 1521
    192.168.58.152 by train...
    Telnet: connect to address 192.168.58.152: connection refused

    Telnet: unable to connect to the remote host

    Login as a user other my oracle on the same VM user, can I tnsping data base successfully:

    tnsping $ OP

    Use settings files:

    TNSNAMES adapter used to resolve the alias

    Try to contact (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = rhel65opdev-vm)(PORT = 1521))) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = OP)))

    OK (10 ms)

    The same user non-oracle, I am able to do appear SQLDeveloper and establish a connection with the database and check its schema.  But on the Mac, I am unable to use (the Mac version of) SQLDeveloper to do the same.  I get an error: IO error: the network adapter could not establish the connection.  Code 17002 provider.

    I have another Red Hat 6.5 virtual VM from where I'm modeling this new machine, which has the same version of Oracle on it, installed and working (which I myself installed without problem, but a long time ago).  I am able to connect remotely to this base since my Mac using Toad and SQLDeveloper without problem and I can telnet to port of database and there is no problem.

    I point out that I recently removed from the database and reinstalled.  I have created only one service: OP, but the OPXDB see below seems to be a previous installation, which can contribute to my question - not sure.

    Here are a few releases of various orders, I tried following suggestions I've seen on different threads, I found through research:

    It's perfectly normal: what you type in the DATABASE is not the service or database name, but a tns alias in tnsnames.ora. If your tnsnames.ora is the one you posted, PDBORCL isn't there (see the description of the error in my post above).

  • Directives IFILE in tnsnames.ora give seemingly harmless errors

    I have a tnsnames.ora file on my local machine that contains a number of directives IFILE, that seems to cause a lot of errors in logging in SQL Developer Page (I use 1.5.4, but the behavior has been consistent since the beta releases).

    My tnsnames.ora file is just a pointer to other files tnsnames.ora, i.e.
    # tnsnames.ora Network Configuration File: c:\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\network\admin\tnsnames.ora
    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.

    IFILE = c:\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\Network\Admin\tnsnames.ora.project1
    IFILE = c:\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\Network\Admin\tnsnames.ora.clientFoo
    This makes it easier for me to have the client or project specific TNSNames.ora files can I share (or borrow) to other people without having to manually edit a giant single file which combines information from several clients.

    Everytime I open SQL Developer, I get an error in the Page log at the bottom of the screen for each entry IFILE where

    Level = SEVERE
    Sequence = 53
    Elapsed = 63
    Source = oracle.dbtools.raptor.utils.TNSHelper
    Ifile = message not found c:\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\Network\Admin\tnsnames.ora.project1

    As far as I know, this is no problem for me - I can connect with happiness to all databases. Of course, I'd like to be able to avoid generating all these errors every time.

    Justin

    Hi Justin,

    I see the error when it is unable to load the file because space.

    It looks like a problem with trim white space:
    works for me (no space after the =): IFILE = / home/turlochcurrent/separation/tmp/testtnsnames/dontfindme
    does not work for me (extra space after the =): IFILE = / home/turlochcurrent/separation/tmp/testtnsnames/dontfindme

    which is buggy/fixed easily if you can confirm that this workaround works around your question.

    Hello..

    Instead your TNSNAMES.ora, this article has only, save, and run tnsping ora10g. Also paste the entry in the sqlnet.ora file.

    ORA10G =

  • location of the file tnsnames.ora and Listener.ora

    Hello

    env: Oracle 11 g 2 - Orable Linux 6.2 64bits

    I set up a database for the client server. I installed IM and the House according to the standards of the Oracle RDBMS. Then I configured the listener to run BOF IM home. If the location of the 'ora, tnsnames' and 'listener.ora' files is $GI_HOME/network/admin.

    Customer's DBA is asking me to conform to the standard for the location of these two files. Here's what he asked for:

    / opt/oracle/owner = oracle, group = s/n (755 permissions)

    / var/opt/oracle owner = oracle, group = s/n (755 permissions)

    • -touch /var/opt/oracle/listener.ora
    • -touch /var/opt/oracle/tnsnames.ora
    • -chown oracle: dba /var/opt/oracle/listener.ora
    • -chown oracle: dba /var/opt/oracle/tnsnames.ora
    • -s /var/opt/oracle/tnsnames.ora /etc/tnsnames.ora ln
    • -s /var/opt/oracle/listener.ora /etc/listener.ora ln

    I'm completely lost here. I don't know if I'm moving these two files in the folder "/ etc", how the LISTENER know about the presence of these files in ' / etc '.

    His reason for this is to support the possibility of having several houses of Oracle's RDBMS. I don't know what he's talking about.

    Please notify.

    Best regards

    user130038 wrote:

    Thanks to you two!

    So basically this DBA do not like to follow standards of Oracle but his own.

    BINGO!

    What is the problem with the help of $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin for these two files if there were several homes of oracle on a server? Sorry I never got to work on a server with multiple oracle homes, so I have no idea.

    The 'standard' with several houses installation is to run the listener from the version the most recent House.  If all of the houses are of the same version (putting aside the question of 'why'), then just pick one that is going to be home for the listener.  If the installation program uses the Grid Infrastructure (ASM and/or Oracle Restart), you must run the listener from the House of IM, not House the database.

    There are some key things to consider here.

    1. the auditor is to receive and process applications for connecting customers.  This is why the listener has no meaning on the Server.  Similarly, its configuration file, listener.ora, only makes sense on the server.

    1a. a single listener, using the default name of the LISTENER and the unique default port of 1521 is quite capable of--indeed, we wanted to - several multiple databases editions of multiple service homes.

    2. the tnsnames.ora file provides a name resolution and address customers.  So it has the sense that on the client computer.

    2. when a database uses a db link to access a different database, the first database acts as a client to the second - as with any other LDAP client.

    Best regards
