• "BOLD" that part of the text field populated by JavaScript?

  I use a drop-down box to populate a text field, as in This example. It works fine, but I can't not formatting output. I need "BOLD" only one part of the text. I don't know much about scripts, so I'm stuck. I tried to connect two strings together, with the method JavaScript for "BOLD" text on the second string, as follows:

  TextField1.rawValue = "Some plain text!\n" + "Some bold text!".bold();

  The two channels appear, but instead of the second being "BOLD", it displays only the HTML for "BOLD" tags, so, in my text field, I get this:

  Some plain text!
  <b>Some bold text!</b>
  

  The format of text field is set to rich text and data format is set to xhtml because users also have the ability to add their own responses to the field of text as well. However, I do not want to have select and "BOLD" text that is sent automatically to the text field in the drop-down list. So, it defeats the purpose to automate in the first place it if they have to go back and adjust it every time...

  Is there something that I am missing? Or another, better way to do this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

• I have created a form in Indesign. Is there a way to create the default text in a text field that displays the interactive pdf "insert text here" in the text field?

  I have created a form for the company, so that I work. It is a form that will be used in several offices and has buttons, drop downs and text fields. One of the text fields has a requirement that when the PDF file is opened, the text field has something written in there already, as an example (and one only) INSERT the TEXT HERE. I created the text field in Indesign and used the text tool to type in the area of the body-copy required. After that I have to export it as an interactive PDF, text in the text field disappeared.

  Drop-down lists give an option for a default choice, but I don't see a way to create default text in the Panel of buttons and forms for text fields. Is there a workaround or a hidden feature?

  We do not add default jQuery as a dependency in 20141 more. Some of these tasks are dependent on the jQuery. Can you try to add jQuery as a dependency? You can use the option as shown in the attached screenshot. We are currently working on how to make it easier to add these dependencies if you need on a regular basis.

• How can I count only text fields that have been used?

  I use Livecycle Designer to a dynamic form.  I have a section of the form that contains the field for the user to enter the goals, and then note the purpose.  I want to count only the text fields with entries and have the total number of rates, divided by the number of entries in text field.

  Line 1, column 1 - goal is to collect 5 apples.   Line 1, column 2 - the given rate is 5

  Row 2, column 1 - goal is to collect 5 pears.  Line 1, column 2 - the given rate is 5

  Two goals for a total power of 10-10 divided by 2 = 5

  Is it possible to count only the fields that are populated?

  Also, is it possible to create an error message if the user scored 5 goals but rated only 4 of them?

  different should be your number at the top of the email accounts registered and the number. a tick will appear on the left hand side click on email for the tick isn't there anymore and hopefully that should do the trick!

  I already have a PDF (not created by me) I have to edit but cannot work out how to enter into new fields of text instructions, I create. I tried to do in InDesign, but the text gets just covered by the blue shape box when you view the final PDF file.

  

  Follow the instructions as default value for the field and then reset the form.

  In the designer, click the field that you need to validate and open the script window, together the menu show drop-down list to validate in the drop-down list and place the code in the script window. Make sure that the language is Javascript and run is defined on the Client. If you don't see the script window goto window-> Script Editor Menu item.

  I have a text field with rich text format format. I need to add a new line character, if the length of a sentence longer than 65 characters. When I change the text using javascript formatting breaks and the signature event will fail eventually. Is it possible to change the body of the value of the text field?   If you want to access the data and style in a field richtext, you must use the command Fieldname.value.exData.saveXML ("pretty"). This will give you the xHTML data format. Then you can manipulate the data in the way that you want, and to get it back in the field, use the Fieldname.value.exData.loadXML ("xml to load", parm1, parm2). The parms are Boolean values that control whether to replace or add the XML to the existing xml. See the reference for script/help for a more detailed description.

  Note that it won't be easy if there is a lot of rich text in your field that the text will be spread between tags. You may need to use the rawValue (no formatting to find out where to put the CR then find in the HTML code and it add.)

  I'm trying to understand a script that would affect the current text field, I am without knowing the name of the field (this.getField) I want to change the properties of any text field, I'm currently typing in (color of text, etc.), this script is placed to a button on the document and when you press on would only affect that I am currently in the text field.

  Did a quick test of this and realized the mouse input is still needed (as well as a 3rd variable) in order to determine if the field was active when the button is pressed and keep their domain name. Changes below:

  By chance, I came up with this workaround. Of course there are other methods to get your data from a web - app, but if you want to use the 'Web apps search form', it would be a workaround.

  I noticed that the "Web apps entry form" contains all the fields of web applications for your web application (including the fields of the data source).

  It is possible to add the fields to the form of the "Web apps entry form" in the «Web apps search form»

  If you insert the "Web apps entry form" on a blank page, you will see all the fields in your web App including the "data source fields. The names of form fields contain something like.

  "

  If you copy the form field desired (containing the "CAT_Custom_number"), you can paste it on the page in the form where the "web app search form" is inserted.

  In short:

  1. Add the "Web apps entry form" form on the blank page

  2. Select & copy the form fields that contains the 'web app data source field' and its value

  3. Add the "apps Web search form" on page (empty)

  4 paste the items copied from step 3 in the "Web apps search form»

  5. structure of the form with the fields you want, including the SEND/SUBMIT button

  6 structure and style of the search with your own HTML and CSS form

  7. test the form

  Yes, it can be done. Go to the properties of the field and under the Options box tick the box 'Allow Rich Text Formatting'.

  Leave the form editing mode, click the field and press Ctrl + E. This will open the properties bar where you can set several formatting options for text, including to set it as "align justified."
