First of all, please do not proceed with the bla, gloom :)

If you can tell us exactly what you see, chances are that someone has seen and knows how to solve this problem.

When you start mode without failure and the system crashes, which is the last line that you see on the screen (blah, blah should not be the answer).

Tell us something about your system:

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?

Have you installed a new hardware or software before this affliction?

Was there something wrong before that lock in question, and to try to fix things, has taken a chkdsk or verification of disk errors?

While you wait, I think you should make you a bootable CD from the Console of the Recovery XP (no XP media required) and get your started on that system and run a chkdsk/r from the XP Recovery Console.

    Here's how:

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • 860 - 009na: the monitor turns off during access to / applications change full screen

    Hello

I got a new computer packed with the HP Envy 32 inch monitor. I am running on an issue that is simply irrating and I don't know how to solve it.

Basically, the screen is empty. It is not a hard lock or whatever it is, he decides just during initialization more applications full screen (IE, a game) or even post Win10, connect, when computers are like "flickering" during the swap, the screen just turned off. This can be resolved by switching on the monitor input channel, or put the monitor in standby and distributed. On these occasions, I get sound through the screen.

So appearances, the screen continues to receive entries from the computer and because of switching the monitor off and on again, it display image as expected. This is a case where the monitor is simply decide that it does not want to display the image for reasons unknown. Such as energy conservation.

I updated the graphics card, provided I got most up to date display driver, double checked the connection... it just happens.

It feels like it some really boring affecting somewhere that makes the screen, and I really want to change it. For the moment, it is a rate have to turn on the screen and two times just to get the start menu, then if I insert a game, he does even once, when I leave the game, does it again. It does not occur when a game that supports the windowed mode - without borders is loaded (I guess because it is not 'true full screen').

Thus, it seems to happen during this process to set full screen.

Well, there is another cable that I was not in the box titled "DisplayPort".

So I changed my HDMI cable to use this one. The monitor works perfectly now... so as a workaround, this solved.

But the question remains, why the monitor was so weird when using HDMI? It might be marked up as a potential problem.

    Hi Mike,.

    Thanks for posting your request.

We will try these steps and check.

Step 1: Turn off the screen saver by selecting the screen saver 'None '. And check if you have a similar question.

If the problem persists, please turn off the sleep in the BIOS. To check the BIOS settings, please consult the user manual or contact the manufacturer of the motherboard.

Step 2: Perform the check and the boot if the problem persists. It will start Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Please see this link which has the steps showing how to perform the clean boot:

    (1) perform the clean boot (check the link to perform the clean boot)

    (2) enable half the services

    (3) determine whether the problem returns

    (4) enable half of the startup items

    (5) determine if the problem returns

    (6) repeat the steps above until you find out which program or service is causing the issue

After you determine the startup item or the service that is causing the problem, contact the manufacturer of the program to determine if the problem can be solved. Or, run the System Configuration utility, and then click to clear the check box of the element of the problem.

Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • Satellite A200 - 1 M 8: the monitor shuts off and cannot back up to Vista

    Hello

I have the Satellite A200 - 1 M 8 with original Vista. Sometimes, I have some problems with the display (I have the latest drivers).
The monitor turns off (not as usual but it is gray instead of black) applications flow normally (I hear the music of film, this) but I can't get back into windows.

When I push button hibernation and I try to go back to windows, I see the blue screen then the computer resets.

It happens very often and is really frustrating because my internet disconnects and downloads.

I don't think that the temperature is too high because I think it's cool. How to fix this?
Maybe some graphics settings or new BIOS?

Please help me. I can't stand it!

    Hello

Your laptop is preinstalled with recovery delivered image, or if you have installed your own operating system?

I have the Satellite A200-1CR preinstalled with original Toshiba Recovery DVD. I use the laptop quite intensively all day, but I never noticed anything like that. Since when did you notice this strange behavior?

  • monitor turns off for no apparent reason

No matter what I do the monitor turns off

    Hello

    · What is the number and model of the monitor?

    · Have you defined a plan of the power on the computer?

I suggest you to check the physical connection when the monitor turns off.

In addition, update the drivers installed on the computer. You can check the link how to manage devices in Windows XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283658

  • U2715H - Windows automatically resized when the screen turns off then turn it back on

    • Windows 8.1 Pro
    • 1 single monitor connected to the PC
    • native resolution 2650 x 1440 at 60 Hz the value
    • through CDM of the monitor to the RFP the ti EVGA 750 SC (cable Dell)
    • all drivers updated on 28/12/15

I just bought this monitor and I noticed this strange behavior. Whenever I have turn off the monitor (or it will turn off by itself), if I didn't have a maximized window, all windows (regardless of size) gets automatically resized to fit in the left upper quadrant when the screen turns back on again.  If I had something full screen, this behavior does not occur.

I find this very annoying. This behavior happened with my previous monitor, which was only 1080 x 1200.

I was unable to find any setting for the U2715H disable this "feature". This isn't because EasyArrange from Dell. I do not use this feature. And this always happens with Display Manager not installed.

Is it just a 'feature' of Dell U2715H? Is responsible for Windows? Help, please.

    TIA

There was no pilot or changes to the hardware of my first post.  BTW, my monitor is a Rev A02.

A few days after my previous message, another question emerged.  Monitor flash intermittently ON / OFF every few seconds.  I unplugged/replugged the cable CDM - DP and that seems to fix things... until the next day.  This time, I nothing could fix the random rotation power SWITCH of the monitor.  Desperate, I decided to plug an old HDMI cable, I had to hang out.  Flashing problem has been resolved.  Not only this, using HDMI solved my original problem of auto resizing windows.

The solution to my original problem: use an HDMI cable.  I went to the Dell CDM - DP cable and the problem has been resolved; no more windows resize automatically when the monitor turns off in sleep/towers.  I always get the native resolution at 60 Hz and there is no noticeable disadvantages to the use of the HDMI versus DP interface.  I've been using the HDMI cable for about a week and there is no other issue.

Just for additional verification, I bought an Accell UltraAV DP - DP 1.2 cable (B142C-007 b-2), one of the few officially approved by VESA (see link below).  Using this cable does NOT my automatic window resizing problem original.  I do not use it long enough to see if they would prevent the random flashing question.

I still don't know the exact cause of my original question.  I guess it's a driver problem with DisplayPort standard.  But if you do not need DP 1.2 functionality, I suggest that you just use your GPU HDMI output (if she has a).

  • The display turns off after a few minutes and shows 'No Signal'

Hey guys, I was faced with a weird problem recently. My desktop monitor turns off by itself after a few minutes, but the works of CPU, I can hear the fan running and see the lights blink. One thing I noticed, is that when the screen turns off, the light Orange on the processor rest on which flashes normally just. My PC works normally on the mode without failure, but worse, safe mode, but I can't work on my software CorelDRAW. This may be the problem of SMPS? because recently, my entries of mouse and keyboard did not work due to which I got a USB keyboard and a mouse. I recently installed Windows 7 64 bit, but I think that shouldn't cause the problem since I have worked with Windows 64-bit before on the same machine.

    PC configuration-

    Intel Core 2 Duo 4500 @ 2.20 Ghz processor
    ASUS P5QPL-AM motherboard
    3 GB RAM
No (not sure, maybe integrated) graphics card
    1 TB harddrive

PS - I couldn't find an exact category for my problem.

    Hey Archer
Currently, I formatted my Windows 7 and installed Windows 8 and am these problems persist. I have not upgraded but formatted my C drive and installed a fresh new copy of windows 8... so I thnk it may be a problem of the SMP. Can he?

    Hi sunny

It can or mentioned being SMPS... the reason is... you have already said that the computer or the monitor works fine in safe mode! But since his past even when you install Windows 8,
    To make troubleshooting a
    1. go to the Bios and reset all default by selecting the optimum setting in the bios... Given that your motherboard has got characteristic overclocking and selection of the IGD... let him get by default...  Start the computer and check if the monitor turns off always.
    2. If step 1 does not solve your problem... then go to the power option in the control panel and select your power setting of the high-performance system where you can set your monitor to never go to sleep.  See what's happening... If the monitor still going to sleep even after this setting... then you have a problem with drivers or the motherboard... try updating the drivers and see if that helps.
    3. If the update of drivers did not help... so the next option is to review your material... try to get a replacement screen and see if this could solve this problem... A things you can deduct that if this also fails, then the obvious reason is that your monitor is ok... and problem must be the motherboard.
    4. Firstly check the display port... does it feel loose?
    a. do you have this port pins come out?
    b. your motherboard has two power connections (EATXPWR 24-pin and a 4-pin ATX 12V... are both connected?
    c. your SMP should be at least 400W according to recommendations from the manufacturer to you. Check this box...
    d. then ofcourcse obviously... Reinstall the Rams and other external devices.
Follow these steps and let me know your comments for each
  • 2610 suddenly stopped to turn off ink

    Hello

My 2610 all in one suddenly stopped to turn off ink.  The day before, it was working fine, then when I turned on the next day, he goes through the same motions, but no ink comes out.  I print in black only.

    Thanks for any help

HI - go ahead and try following the steps described in this document.  It guides you through printing the diagnostic page should help pinpoint the problem.  If you see no black on the diagnostic page, it could be that the cartridge is empty or the nozzles are clogged.  To try to solve the problem with clogged nozzles, try the procedure described in this document.  If this does not resolve the problem, you will probably have to replace the cartridge (this is of course assuming you see no black on the diagnostic page.

    Hope that helps.

  • All of a sudden, the emails I am dial are a building block in the middle of the screen.  I can't minimize or move the drive to refer to another email.  Must send to the project folder.  Boring!  Why is this happening?

Hello!  All of a sudden, the emails I am dial are a building block in the middle of the screen.  I can't minimize or move them if I need to take a break to refer to another email.  I send email partially completed to the drafts folder.  It is extremely annoying.  How to do this?  Operating system is OS X Yosemite (10.10.5) on a MacBook Pro.   Thank you!

You are using the full screen? Try the command - command - F.

    Try a reboot.

Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in system preferences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolate a problem by using a different user account

If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

When I scroll a page all of a sudden the page jumps all the way back to the top

    Hey LouiseReed,

This could be a problem with your keyboard. For example if your House key was stuck or if you accidentally touch while scrolling the page would jump to the top of the screen. If possible, try to connect to another keyboard and test to see if the same thing happens.

Another possibility is that your mouse has a top button which is on the Home button. While scrolling if you accidentally hit this button, the page jump to the top.

If the above information doesn't help you find causing jumps, please provide more specific information such as: what do you use to scroll when this happens, the problem is easily reproducible whether the problem occurs randomly, etc.

    Hope that helps.
