  • Update the bios HP Envy 15 t, Windows 8.1, stripped of the keyboard backlight and messed up the function keys

I bought a HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook PC about a month ago.

Yesterday an update of the bios was downloaded from HP and implemented.

The backlight on the keyboard has been disabled. I want to come back.

Also, I need to have their ordinary functions, unless you press the shift of fn, function keys.

I couldn't find the option for the backlight I have the information available. Here's the option in the BIOS to enable/disable the use of the fn key.

Please check if there are options for the backlight. In the meantime, I will try also to find information to activate the backlight. You can try using the keys F4 or Fn + F11 to toggle the backlight on the keyboard.

  • 27 "tilted envy, not recognized by the computer to factory wireless keyboard

New system, 27 "envy tilted, the keyboard does not work. new replacement shipped by HP keyboard is also non-functional. So I guess the question is with computer, no keyboard. Pls advise on this a driver problem or a hardware problem.

The dongle does not synchronize with the keyboard, only with the mouse, even when the button 'reset' blue on the keyboard has been held down various lengths of seconds. A new keyboard/mouse/dongle synched did the trick. The dongle attaches behind the access panel on the back of the tilt on the internal USB port for this purpose.  Nothing wrong with tilt, down.

    Hello

I see that you have a question on your laptop keyboard. Yes, you can replace the keyboard with a keyboard backlight depending on where you come from.

Here are taken keyboards supported for your laptop in selected areas.

  • The keyboard mapping during the remote to the W2K8 Server Desktop session is messed up.

    Hello

We have an interesting problem. We are access to a Windows Server 2008 R2 host from our Windows XP latops. We have users who access the site from Arizona, Colorado and China. Sometimes, after a user of China accessing the computer, the keyboard mapping is messed up. We push a character as an 'a' or some other person and it will open a file instead! We checked to make sure that the keyboard on the host computer mapping is changed Chinese back in American English. There seems to be a bug here, but we are not quite sure what it is! If anyone else has experienced this?

    Thank you

  • How can I remove the keyboard from a HP Envy dv7t-7200

Hi, as the title suggests, I can't figure out how to remove the keyboard of my laptop, I unscrewed everything inside and removed the DVD tray, press the hole to lift the keyboard and the corner rises well, but two-thirds along the way the keyboard seems to be ensured by a tab or a lock , I guess there is something I'm missing, something I have to press to help completely free the keyboard, I think that there is a tab that is clicked, the manual mentions nothing about it.

    I read this:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware/removing-keyboard-from-HP-envy-dv7-4000/TD-p/3230343

My problem seems to be substantially the same as his, unfortunately, the video who said his doubts is private. Can someone help me out here? I don't want to break the keyboard and I'm desperate, I saw tons of videos on other models, but they don't seem to have this feature. Will you please reply as soon as possible because it is a delicate task for me.

Thanks in advance for the help you provide.

I assume that you have the Manual:

    Manual

See page 61. The sides of the keyboard have a small flange that goes under the "lip" of the hole in the lid of the top of the keyboard page. Get a spatula plastic under the edge of the keyboard and move around where you can pop out over the lip. He sticks in there a little and you can fold the keyboard a little to get him out of the opening. It'll probably take a little more force you have been willing to apply.

    Hello

I've updated my laptop it has windows 8.1 to 10 and for a few days then my touchpad/pointer has been gel 4-5 seconds after I touch any key on the keyboard. for example. If I hit enter then I can't move the pointer for a few seconds... I can always use the left and right click while the pointer does not move.

Everything worked perfectly until I upgraded to windows 10 and everything else outside the mouse freezing seems to work properly after the upgrade.

Any help fixing this issue would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  • HP Envy 15 k046nd: Envy 15 k046nd how to remove the keyboard (shift of collage and key)

    Hi all

    Short version:

Does anyone know how to remove a single key on the keyboard without breaking? (or if it is still possible) I tried some things, but have failed.

    Long version:

Unfortunately, I spilled lemonade on my keyboard last week. I cleaned it all that quickly, and nothing is technically wrong. But after 2 days some keys on my keyboard started to stick very bad, especially the entrance and the shift key. They still work, but it's very annoying. I have tried lifting below them and cleaning, but that has not worked, and I also can't get down them. I looked for a way to replace the keyboard, but I have to essentially take the computer laptop all apart + it's expensive. I hope someone can tell me how to down the different keys without breaking!

    Thank you

    Leon

    Hi there @leonsmits,

Welcome to the HP support community! I read your post and wanted to tender hand can help you! I read that you want to remove the keys of the keyboard because they hold and you want to clean.

If a key is physically stuck in the down position, you should not replace your laptop. Many keyboards have keys that can be removed by inserting a knife to butter under one edge of the button and gently lifting upward on the upper and lower edge. Please NOTE: To avoid damaging the cushion under the key, insert the knife to butter only 1/8 of an inch under the edge of the key

After having removed the key, using a buffer with alcohol, clean the underside of the key and the key on the keyboard slot. Put the key in the snapping it back in place.

Here is a document for you called portable keyboard troubleshooting. There is a section in this document, called a laptop key stuck. This section will help you to guide you how to clean these keys.

If the keyboard doesn't have keys that can be removed, you may need to replace the keyboard or laptop service.

This answer doesn't solve your problem or answer your question? If so, please share the good news! Inform others that this answer was helpful by clicking on the button accept as a Solution . You can also show your appreciation by clicking thumbs-up.

If you need assistance, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please re-post with the results of the resolution of the problems.

    Thank you!

  • An update that messes with the keyboard

HP Support Assistant was an update on 11/30/2015, almost all of my keys have been affected by the latter.

My keys on the keyboard will work exactly correctly, ALL my keys.

for an example, I could stand w to move in a game and he would have a work stoppage or be active without holding me on.

I can't figure out if its an update or a certain type of process that is on.

All I had to do was to do a restore of the bios.

  • ENVY 17 t-j000: some keys on the keyboard do not work. ENVY 17 t-j000 Quad Edition CTO

I checked the status of my keyboard in the Device Manager, and it indicates that the keyboard works correctly. I also checked for updates, but it is already up to date. The keyboard has done this before and I sent it back once to fix, but why is - doing this again?

I decided to buy a USB keyboard and of course, it works fine. As I suspected, the problem is in the built-in keyboard, but unfortunately, my outdated warranty.

  • How to replace the keyboard on a laptop HP ENVY 15 3040NR?

I can't find any info online regarding replacing a keyboard on this model.

All of a sudden my backspace, shift to the right and the left arrow button has stopped working. I have to push really hard several times to get to work.

Bios update I tried, no help.

Happens outside of windows, although not a driver problem.

perfectly good laptop but almost useless until this problem is corrected.

  • MBP 15 "retina responds correctly to the keyboard

Hi, I have an urgent problem. I wrote the text in InDesign when suddenly is moved to another application, and the text in this application I messed up. I was not able to remedy this, the things I wrote on the keyboard do not "bite". So I thought that would be good. I've stopped and started, and now I can not even enter my system password, because the error is still there and the text entered in the field isn't what I'm typing. I'm all bleached. Help!

I am not able to boot into safe mode, probably because the SHIFT key will not work.

  • HP ENVY x 360-15-u493cl: HP ENVY x 360-15-u493cl keyboard & Touchpad behavior (Windows 7)

    Hello

Recently, I buy a HP ENVY x 360-computer laptop 15-u493cl, which came with pre-installed Windows 10. I need to have it running Windows 7 for work related purposes. Take the help of other Members here, I was able to do a clean install of WIndows 7 on the laptop and have gotten most of the drivers successfully.

Currently, I have a problem with the laptop keyboard and touchpad. They work but are acting weird. Whenver I type, much of the time, the cursor moves elsewhere on the line or a different line. Words/lines get chosen at random.

Wanted to know if anyone has seen this behavior before and have a resolution for this. I tried to use an external keyboard and that works fine, so I know its got to be pilot releated.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hey @vbvr,

Thank you for joining the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is a great place to ask questions, find solutions and get help from others in the community! I read your post on the Forums of HP Support.

I wanted to join you and help! I understand you downgraded the operating system on your HP ENVY x 360-15-u493cl Notebook PC 10 from Windows to Windows 7. Now, you have a problem with the keyboard and the Touchpad.

There's no drivers for Windows 7 systems and you lack some of the special features. Here is a linkso that you can understand your right to demotion (although it is said for Windows 8, it is the same for Windows 10).

Generally, if the WANT of HP x 360-15-u493cl Notebook PC does not get upgraded to Windows from another operating system and instead, 10 Windows 10 has been a new installation on the laptop, it is very difficult to return to a different operating system.

You can try to use the Microsoft Fix it tool: Microsoft provides an automatic diagnosis based on web and the claim for compensation. If the device still does not work, proceed to the next step.

    • Continue deleting the names of devices in the category keyboards until the feature of all the names have been uninstalled.
    • Restart the laptop twice.

NOTE: Please repeat these steps for the TouchPad in device as Manager.

I found a document of troubleshooting for you to try called Portable keyboard troubleshooting.

Here is a document for you called using the TouchPad and ClickPad (Windows 10).

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Simply download and run the application, and it can help you find the software and drivers for your system this update is necessary to run compatibly with Windows 7.
