Envy 17-j053ea hardware drivers.

Hi people,

I hope someone can help me. I just bought a new laptop, the HP Envy 17-j053ea and equipped with an SSD to it with Windows 7 Pro. I managed to find the drivers and make things more work, but there are still a few outstanding things that I can't get the right driver for.  When I go into the device, under the heading 'Other devices' Manager, I get the following list who still need driver. I'm going crazy trying to find the right ones. On the HP page I tried a couple that I found were for the ethernet device, but they have not worked, so I'm a bit lost now. Fortunately, I managed to get the WiFi working so at least I can still come on the internet and seek solutions etc.

1. Ethernet Controller.

2 PCI Device.

3 SM Bus Device.

4 unknown Device.

5 unknown Device.

Thank you very much

Chad.

Hello

Thanks for the quick response. Using your method I've now narrowed the list a bit. Two unknown devices are now gone. One of them had something to do with the 3D drivers and the other was the fingerprint reader. Not sure if they work as they should immediately, but they are now gone from the "unknown device". I have just the other three remaining.

1. Ethernet Controller.

PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8168 & SUBSYS_1966103C & REV_0C, try this driver

PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8168 & SUBSYS_1966103C

PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8168 & CC_020000

PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_8168 & CC_0200

2 PCI Device.

PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_5227 & SUBSYS_1966103C & REV_01 use the driver on the portal of the web support for the Realtek PCIe card reader. The driver is for Windows 7 and Windows 8

PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_5227 & SUBSYS_1966103C

PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_5227 & CC_FF0000

PCI\VEN_10EC & DEV_5227 & CC_FF00

3 SM Bus Controller.

PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_8C22 & SUBSYS_1966103C & REV_04 Get this driver from the Intel Center download. You have an Intel 8 series chipset

PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_8C22 & SUBSYS_1966103C

PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_8C22 & CC_0C0500

PCI\VEN_8086 & DEV_8C22 & CC_0C05

Kind regards

Chad.

  • Want to m6-1203ex: HP Envy m6-1203ex laptop drivers for windows7 (32 bit)

I downgraee my computer hp Envy m6-1203ex Win8 for Windows7 (32 bit) laptop, I have already successfully installed Win7 (32 Bit), I need hardware drivers for windows7 (32 bit), I checked on google, but does not do so. Please inform accordingly.

    Hello:

There is no W7 32 bit graphics drivers switchable configuration from anywhere.

Your only choice if you want to properly run W7, is to install W7 x 64, and then you can use the drivers and software of the m6t-1000 except the BIOS and firmware files.

  • HP ENVY 17-j053ea Notebook PC: windows post 10 install; touchpad does not work!

    Hello

I pray that someone can help me.

Brought my HP ENVY 17-j053ea Notebook PC early 2014, work very well running windows 8.1.

In the month of August / Sept upgraded to windows 10 and that s when the problems started.

My touchpad has stopped working... I tried a multitude of things that sometimes worked, but after a few days the pad has stopped working again.

The problem started in the month of August on vacation so I installed the following:

    Driver and utility Chipset

Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) driver - sp63410

Rapid Start driver Intel - sp63411

Smart Connect driver Intel - sp63413

    Synaptics TouchPad Driver - sp63417

HP Notebook System BIOS update - sp69886

HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel processors) - sp66941

The event system HP utility - sp65792

Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver - sp63554

This solved the problem for a few weeks, but then the touchpad stopped and started periodically and eventually didn't work for about 2 months.

While the Forum last night I fought, I found the resolution posted by DanG82 with the title:

HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT UPGRADE POST-WINDOWS 10 ON HP LAPTOPS

Follow all the instructions step by step and was hopeful this could work... but it didn't.

Whereas really return to 8.1 windows because it's so frustrating using a mouse on the go.

Please please can someone help me?

    You are the very welcome.

The only other suggestion I can offer would be to uninstall the touchpad driver and software in the menu programs in Control Panel, restart and try this driver synaptics, even once, I posted.

Or try the driver directly from synaptics.

Always uninstall the previous synaptics driver before installing the new.

For the smbus and usb3 controllers, download and install the Chipset AMD drivers and restart the PC.

You want the first file on the Web page.

To provide the driver for the device unknown (there may be some devices that are displayed as unknown), please post the hardware ID of the unknown device.

To find the hardware ID, click on the unknown device in Device Manager.

Then click on the Details tab in the upper part of the device window unknown.

  • Graphics upgrade hp envy 17-j053ea

I know it's very hard to upgrade graphics of the computer laptop or perhaps impossible. I would like to know if you can upgrade the graphics card to an hp envy 17-j053ea or if you can confirm that this is impossible. If there is a way to do how much would it cost (map real etc.), I am aware of the similarities that must share the original map and the new.
    Thanks for reading.

BIOS is part of the motherboard, so when Exchange you the Board you bring the BIOS along. You need to reinstall or re-register Windows, however. There is no 'card '. All the video material is hard soldered to the motherboard. The 740 M and 750M "switched" with Intel 4600 Graphics and operate essentially the same thing. The 750M memory DDR5 and 740 M uses DDR3 and otherwise, it is essentially very little difference except the M 750 is clocked just a little faster. I have a HP Envy with the 750M and it is a lower mid-range graphics card. He will play small games but is not an enthusiast graphics card. The 740M is in the same class.

You have graphs of GT740M. There is a motherboard with video of 750 M and it is the reference number:

    720267 501

The only motherboard is $ 300:

A technician may be practiced $ 150 to $200 to swap motherboards.

The difference between the 2 chips graphics is negligible and far from a value of 450 $et $500, but it can be made. Advice from Paul is strong enough.

  • Monitor for laptop HP ENVY 17-j053ea driver

Hello, I recently had my screen replaced because of a crack, but the driver that he was replaced at a base in the process, limiting my screen resolution at a fraction of what he is capable of.

My laptop is a HP ENVY 17 - j053ea Notebook PC that runs windows 64 bits 8.1

I was wondering if someone can direct me to a place where I can find the driver that came with the laptop.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello:

There is no such thing as a monitor driver for all HP laptops I have ever been.

They all appear as P & P monitors.

There are different screens with different resolutions.

I have to imagine that your screen has been replaced by one of a lower resolution.

For example: this desire 17j has the same resolution of 1600 x 900 your monitor has been replaced by.

  • Install SSD in HP Envy 17-j053ea

I bought a 256GB SSD to go in my HP Envy 17 - j053ea with an existing 1 TB drive.

Is invalidated my guaranteed license or windows if I install Windows 8.1 on the SSD and replace the existing 1 TB drive?

    * Removed second question and raised as a separate message *.

    Hello:

I can only answer to your first question.

The guarantee will be cancelled not if you install an SSD in your laptop.

But HP will not cover collateral damage you may cause by trying to install the hard drive, or they will support any guarantee for the SSD or the operating system that you are installing as a replacement for the original factory installed HP OS.

  • Lack of hardware drivers, the Windows Live programs do not work & Microsoft Outlook 2010 is very slow in Windows XP computer.

Victorinox original title: my PC is in need of serious help!

I will have questions both of I don't know where to start?

#1) I think Miss me the hardware drivers, what can I do to check and make sure I have the latest driver updates for my hardware?

(#2) I have programs such as MS messenger, some programs MS Live Essentials that I can't use, fix, uninstall or reinstall.

(#3) MS Outlook 2010 is super slow, freezes, don't play well with other programs and finally stops after a while.

(#4) instead of "restart" my PC stops completely down and don't come back or restart when I said to "restart".

(#5) according to ARO over 3900 registry errors, which I am sure that is why I...

    (A) I have several MS security updates will not be installed, (all the directions say to change records and do all sorts of things, I don't think I'm qualified for this.

    (B) PC is generally slow and lazy and even if it is a work computer, it's me from being productive, and I don't have the time.  It starts slowly, and I don't know how to "truly" remove startup programs, etc.

It is a working PC, should be a whole day to re - install Windows on top the other things would have to do to make it fully functional again, drive mapping, loading the programs clients, plug-ins, etc. on top of losing this day there all the work, we would have to pay the computer scientist for that all day. Our guys 'IT' knows all the fancy words for all the 'IT' stuff he does, but he has the patience to follow through and fix things until they are really fixed, it starts simply, then vibrates on a list of things to do after his departure... and it is overpriced, even if he was as good as he thinks he's.  But I have no say in this.  I'm not the admin PC I don't think, but I can run & install programs on the PC.  We use TrendMicro, which I'm not thrilled since I just cleaned my PC my 3rd year Trojan horse was not detected by T.M. but was detected by other things, such as MSE and MalwareBytes.  Where should I start, how to get it all cleaned up, & what should I do to keep it?

Hi I am looking to buy the HP ENVY 17-j053ea, far specifications correspond to my needs, but there is just one thing I need to know.

Does the laptop afore mentioned have a secondary HARD drive location?

I have an old DV9000 series that has two slots and ideally, I would like to have a secondary home again as I require the storage capabilities without having to carry an external hard drive

    Hi Glenn,.

Yes, the Envy 17-j053ea has 2 bays for HARD drives - see Pages 58/59 of the Guide maintenance &.

If you intend to mount a second HDD, an example of the type of carriage and connection cable you need is on the following link.

  • Failure of the attempt to retrieve ENVY 17-j053ea

Hi, I have a HP ENVY 17-j053ea I had to buy recovery disks for. I have used several times recovery disks following different instructions and using various BIOS settings and have been in 3 different chats with HP but I still get an error message. In the last cat HP told me that I should take the laptop to the retailer who should repair/replace for me and if they are not then contact HP chat.

The error message is a dialog box with a black background entitled "Recovery Manager" and the message said: "the recovery attempt failed. Select one of the following buttons:' where the buttons 'Save Log', 'Détails' and 'Retry '. If I click on 'Retry' he invites me to insert the disc 1 again once (at the stage of receiving this error message the two discs have already been used) and if I click on 'Détails' a file named 'CTOERROR.flg' opens in Notepad and contains the following text:
ChkErrBB.CMD: Detects an error in the PININST_BBV.
    ChkErrBB.CMD: Check c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootWarn.log
    ChkErrBB.CMD: or, visit c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootMerge.log

Is there anything anyone can offer before returning the laptop?

Enter the BIOS and reset the date system from the laptop to the 14/01/2014. Run recovery. When you get to where you're askedif cane for laptop with additional support, remove the recovery media and let the computer restart.

You may need to run the recovery once more and reset the date to 01/01/2014 system. I did five + overlays on my spectrum 13 HP TouchSmart Ultrabook current of loan product in order to familiarize yourself with the process when a GPT disk is involved. Whenever it took me three times to achieve a factory recovery image.

  • Will be hardware drivers installed on a guest OS is running even if they do not work on the host operating system?

    Scenario:

    VMware Workstation:

    Windows 7 SP1 64 bit host

Windows XP SP 32 bit comments

A scanner and a printer are available for Windows XP hardware drivers.  No hardware drivers are available for Windows 7.

If the hardware drivers for these devices are installed on the client Windows XP OS will work?

    Thank you.

Welcome to the community of users.

The answer is (as usual), it depends on...

My experience has been the following:

If your printer/scanner is usb based, there is a reasonable chance that it will work.

I have an old HP Scanjet (USB key) and an old Belkin UPS (USB) that both require drivers and software that only work under XP. I have an XP VM I'm running pilots of each device and software in and everything works.

I also have an old LasetJet HP (parallel port) that is not supported directly by Windows 7 and more. For this I used a USB-parallel converter > and in a VM XP, I am able to access and print. A Linux VM also recognizes the printer via the number of series-parallel adapter > and I can print it as well.

In any case, I only install the drivers for the virtual machine, not on the host computer. In fact, I can't install the drivers on the host computer, even if I wanted to, they can not even the installation of Win 7 and including Win 7-64 bit host.

If your hardware requires a custom Board, plugged into the motherboard (such as SCSI controllers) used in early scanners, the chances are pretty good it won't work that desktop doesn't pass through for PCI device (or other).

I had especially good luck with USB devices. (Not all, but most).

You'll probably just to try it and see...

    Good luck.
