• Script errors in the table of contents in RoboHelp 9

  Hello, all. I can usually find the solution to my problem by searching for existing threads, but I can't seem to find a solution this time. I recently upgraded to RoboHelp 7 to 9.0.2.271. I published WebHelp locally and checked the files in to a Team Foundation Server to be deployed in a test environment. Locally and on the QA site, the output seems fine for me and the table of contents works as expected. However, other users on Internet Explorer 7 and 8 (I have IE8) are getting script errors when you try to click on the pages of the table of contents.

  I compressed my files the and dropped on a shared and player asked a user to copy on his machine and open the start with his browser page. He always gets the script errors, while another user can open locally without any problem. This makes me think that the problem is not in RoboHelp files themselves, but I'm not sure.

  To further complicate things, in this environment, another server of QA, the table of contents and Index are empty! This is obviously a separate issue, but I'm stumped. This problem occurs in IE 6, 7 and 8. It does NOT occur in Firefox or IE 9.

  Any ideas?

  If the table of contents/Index/Search does not work in IE7/8/9 via HTTPS, try the following steps

  1. Go to https://acrobat.com/#d=WqbdTq-2R79ToU08-zfBEw
  2. Download the IESearchIssue.zip file. Unzip it.
  3. It will create an IESearchIssue folder. It has two subfolders
     1. RH8.0.2
     2. RH9.0
  4. If you use RoboHelp 8.0.2, go to the folder RH8.0.2.
  5. If you use RoboHelp 9.0, navigate to the folder RH9.0
  6. Navigate to the \RoboHTML\WebHelp5Ext\template_stock folder and rename the file whutils.js in whutils.js.bak
  7. Now, paste the new whutils.js already copied into the same folder.
  8. Now again generate webhelp output the required project.
  9. Host it on your server and check if it works.

• Script error (whtopic.js) when opening a topic that contains an integrated video (iFrame)

  Made first: RoboHelp HTML 11.0.4.291 / SSL = WebHelp / 8.1 Windows / IE 11.0.9600.18283. And I searched on this forum (and the entire CANVAS, actually) for a response, but nothing helped.

  And: English is not my mother tongue and I work with the German version of RoboHelp. I hope you understand my problem though. ;-)

  I work with a project that contains the card ID for opening sensitive to the context of the subjects. All of a sudden, we seem to have a problem when a context sensitive topic is open, but only, when this topic includes integrated video (iFrame), which is linked to our YouTube channel (when I delete the embedded video, the error no longer appears, so the reason for this problem must be the video). I get a script error about the whtopic.jsfile, but this script error is not really useful, because it shows 0 for the line, the character and its code (see Image below):

  

  When I click Yes in the error message, the subject appears correctly and I can play the embedded video, but the navigation pane is not displayed. I have to click on view in the upper left corner, and then everything seems to be ok.

  Someone has an idea what causes this problem? And how can I avoid this script error message? If I can't solve this problem, I think I'll remove all the videos embedded and just provide a link to the video on YouTube.

  The error comes from youtube (ytimg.com) and it seems that YouTube is at fault. You can include an iFrame to the entire youtube page instead of using the YouTube embed code?

  I followed the base article of knowledge advising me to delete my browsing history and cache and try to download again, but nothing changes.

  If I click Yes or no installation goes out the window and my laptop computer fan starts but nothing seems to happen. If I try to abandon the installation by clicking the VM taskbar icon, I get a message saying that the installation is ongoing and to wait for it to finish... I waited more than an hour and the closest, I to a facility is an empty folder of VMware in My Documents.

  > office > on my comp. right click > go to properties > advanced system properties > click on enviourment variables >

  There are two folders temparory
  Click on the first time. folder then click on edit after it, change the value of "c:\Tmp" no comma

  do the same for the other temp. folder located here

  then click oK and reboot your pc

  I use RH10 and have the latest patches applied. On a project, I receive a script error message that appears when I try to view any topic of the WYSIWYG editor. If I create a new topic in the project I always get the message.

  I don't get the message when I try to another project.

  It seems that there is a problem with ehlpdhtm.js?

  Thoughts or ideas for what to do to try to solve this problem?

  

  The answer was to close HR, delete the ehlpdhtm.js file and reopen HR. Who created a new js file that did not have the problem.

  HR must be installed on your desktop PC, a server, and that can give you problems. But you say he's not working, so I'm not clear what type of assistance you are looking for. Do you want to run from the original PC?

  Generally, the problem you are reporting is because RH was installed without the necessary rights. The user needs the local administrator rights when installing and using it (with this version). You say it worked for years without this problem, which suggests the rights were removed, intentionally or not. Whatever the reason, reinstall it to do with these rights.   I wonder if you have installed with a system admin logon and try to use the product with a personal login. Your version of HR must be installed with the connection of the user.

• Script error - how to insulate?

  I have published a number of Cap 3 movies that initially as imported PowerPoint slides. No problems encountered with these until today. After the publication of my last such film, when I try to run it, I get the following Adobe Flash Player 10 error message:
  
  "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 10 to run slowly. It continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. You want to cancel the script? »
  
  If I choose to cancel it, the film ends. I'm afraid to try not abandonment.
  
  What appears on the screen is the typical launch without problem sequence and the skin with no apparent problems, but the movie freezes at the beginning of the first slide and the slide image is gray.
  
  Is it possible for me to isolate the script error so that I can correct my mistake?
  
  I would prefer not to have to rebuild this movie from scratch.
  
  Additional information:
  
  3, Windows XP, Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 slides import captive running. When I publish the movie, I put the Flash Player 7 because we have registered who are extremely low.
  
  If I saw the project as a whole before publishing, I encounter the same problem. However, if I went through the cycle of the preview, preview only five slides at once, everything seems to work as I expect.
