Equity access between Windows Xp sp3 32-bit & 64-bit Windows 7 Professional
Hi all
XP sp3 sometime, I can access of windows 7 (64-bit) professional sharing some time cannot be accessed, even I can't enter network, windows 7 to windows 7 is ok, no any problem can still access. What should be is the problem? Total 15 pc accesses this share all windows 7 except a Xp machine, is that occur only a few times, this time I make restart the pc (Win 7) then xp machine can access.
Hello
· Do you have an error message when you browse to Windows 7 from Windows xp?
· Is that what happens on all windows machines 7 or a particular machine?
I suggest temporarily disabling software antivirus (and any other security software) and firewall on the Windows 7 computer as a test and check if this solves the problem. Follow the steps in the link:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software
If disabling the antivirus software solves the problem, you may need to configure the settings of the antivirus as a result program.
Note: make sure that you enable the antivirus software, other security and firewall programs.
Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Alternatively, you can follow the steps described in the links for Windows 7:

Very slow access to network between Windows 7 64 and XP 32 readers
Nice day
Recently, we have replaced a dying man computer of Windows XP with a new Windows 7, i3, 4 GB RAM with full 100Mbit network card, which is operating quite smoothly. This computer has a very necessary shared folder, the folder F1000.dta for Acomba, what is needed by other users. One of these users work with a 32-bit of Windows XP Professional SP3 with 2 GB of RAM and 100Mbit ethernet card. Given that its a 7 / XP share, all sharing on the Windows 7 computer options have been configured (only show network, sharing of citrine, no password, etc...)
The problem now is that while the shared folder is visible, mapped as a network drive, it takes about 5-7 minutes to open the mapped "drive/folder" and a 1-2 minute goo whenever one of its subfolders is accessed. I tested the cable connecting the computer to the network with 3 laptops (running Windows 7 Starter Edition, Vista Home and Vista Ultimate) and all were able to access the drive a few seconds (for 7 Starter) for a decent 10-15 seconds for Vista machines.
Acomba, it should be noted, does not work from this mapped folder, but is installed locally on each computer. Only the file data that contains the documents of the company for Acomba, is shared and accessed remotely.
Is this a normal problem between XP SP3 32 bit and 64 bit of Windows 7 Professional, or am I wrong configured something?
Thanking you in advance,
Greg Jean-LouisHello

Download the drivers and extract them to a folder of your choice.

Updated 32-bit to 64-bit
I have a licensed copy of Windows XP Professional SP3 (32 bit). Am I eligible for an upgrade the 64-bit version?Think twice before using Windows XP 64-bit. Very few pilots have been written for this platform and, frankly, it's not all that stable, what I read.

I have Windows XP Home Edition SP3, 32-bit and IE8. Do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?
The upgrade to Windows 7 is a personal decision. Chances are that if you can do what you need to do on Windows XP then it is 'useless' to upgrade. If you plan the upgrade anyway, you should first check to see that your hardware is supported under Windows 7. To do this, Microsoft has provided a program of "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" to run on your current computer.

Remote access via the internet between Windows 7 PCs and a Windows 7 Pro and a Windows PC Vista Home
I am running Windows 7 Professional on a laptop Dell Studio 1569 (64-bit). I want remote access to one Dell Inspiron, Windows 7 family, but also an another Dell Inspiron running Windows Vista Home edition, via an IP connection over the internet. I can do this and if so, how? I used GoToMeeting.com, but I hope that I can avoid paying their connecting directly. Thanks in advance.

Here is the story:
I install an OEM Windows 7 Professional 64 bit for its new PC, he is not happy. and I replaced by 32-bit professional to formate the system with the same product key. (I ve been said the keys are for 32 and 64) and it works.

But I check other computers are all the same, and people online says there is no driver for this at all.
However, the client argued that this technician Microsoft told him the computer isn't good and 100% need the driver for it!

When I tried to download the Microsoft installation executable, download managed to lock up Firefox whenever I tried it (about 5 times or more)-in the process, the file to automatically download gave me has been identified as a 64 bit executable, despite the fact that Firefox 8.0.1 is a 32-bit application (I have the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Professional). At this point, I don't know what version of the plugin most recent that I need, or how to get it. Help!

How do tell you the difference between windows XP pro 32-bit & 64-bit
I have 2 windows XP pro os. one is green with white writing the other is color gold and seems to change it to move into the light.
I need to know if it is 64-bit.
Thank you
JoeThe title of the disc should include "64" somewhere, as in
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional x 64 Edition (most common)
- Microsoft Windows XP 64 - bit Edition (for computers with Itanium processors only)
'Gold' that sounds as if it had a hologram - which suggests that it is a real Microsoft CD or at least a very good forgery.
"Green with white writing" sounds like "recovery" CD to a computer manufacturer.
