• Qosmio G20: cursor jumps typing the letter

  Hi everyone, my Qosmio G20 gives me headaches! When I try to type a letter or article suddenly the cursor jumps back lines and I find myself typing in the middle of a previous sentence. Then sometimes it just deletes a paragraph I just typed.
  Any suggestions as to why? And more importantly on how to behave?

  Yes, it's because of the touchpad. To disable and enter in peace, just press Fn + F9. This will temporarily disable the touchpad. When you are finished typing, press Fn + F9 again, it will re-enable the touchpad.

  I am filling the letter B with text, but does not know how to make the text to jump over the holes in the letter.

  Here's what I did:

  • Typed the letter B
  • Created the outline of text
  • Published the compound path in order to be able to use the area type tool
  • Text tool box for placing text in the letter

  The problem is that the text does not go around the two 'holes' in the middle of the letter.

  Something has changed on my copy of Vista 64 bit Home Premium edition, and now when I try to type the first letter of a name of file to access it, rather Vista puts in the search box in the upper right corner of the window.

  It's counterproductive and annoying _ out of me. I want to jump for filenames beginning with that letter, not clear the screen and show the stuff that is not in the current directory. Especially since I regularly work with earlier versions of windows.

  How should I do so that I can type in the names of files in Explorer and jump to files beginning with this letter as in all previous versions of Windows since at least win95?

  Go to start / Control Panel / folder Options / view and scroll down where it presents two options when entering in the list view.  Check the box to select the item type in the view.  This is part of what you want.

  If you type a letter, it will go to the files/folders starting with this letter (and not the search box); However, I just tried it myself and it seems to work only for the first letter.  If you type in a second letter, he will then the files/folders starting with THIS letter instead of files that begin with the first letter typed and then refining to files beginning with the two first letters typed and so on.  I can't make it work any better than this - unless I type really fast (and it seems to work as it should most of the time).  And I want really fast.

• Problem with the Xwindows server where the letter 'g' is constantly typed.

  I installed Cygwin and Cygwin-x, which opens an Xwindows server to display graphics for a program I am writing. Unfortunately, when the xWindows terminal window appears, the letter 'g' starts to get typed, without input from me I have restarted my computer several times and reinstalled Cygwin, but the problem has not disappeared, so I suspect it has something to do with Windows itself. The ghost 'g's only appear in this context, not as long as any other program is running, so I don't think that the key on the keyboard is broken. Do you know any solution for this?   When I type in the search box, Firefox interrupts me before I finish typing the word (usually within the first 4 letters. 'Focus' password input box to find on the page itself. If I type backspace Firefox goes back to a single page of navigation, not a single character in the box. I disabled Searchmenu, but which did not help.

  I had not restarted after you disable the SearchMenu. After you restart, it would seem that the problem was, in fact, SearchMenu. That was my suspicion. Once finding highlights a 'word' SearchMenu interrupts to offer her services. I guess I'll post on their advice, to see if there is a solution.

  You don't mention your e-mail program, but the answer is no. Just to be sure, check the drafts folder and the "sent" folder. You may accidentally saved or sent.

  If you are using Windows Mail, whenever you want to type a long email, once you start it, it save in drafts, (file |) Save or Ctrl + S) and continue from there. Every so often, save it again to update what you just typed the recorded message.

  It may be a problem of keyboard as Richard suggested.  If it's a laptop, it may be that you hit the touchpad when you type.  I suggest this because I used to do that myself when entering some letters on my laptop.

  If this is the case, there may be a control panel option to disable the touchpad when you type, or you could try to install something like touchfreeze (http://code.google.com/p/touchfreeze/), who will do exactly that.

  Whenever I type the letter "T", while sending an email, it causes my computer to open a new tab/page.

  It's on a laptop? It is the touchpad at the origin of the problem. Go to the properties of the touchpad and disable the zoom in/out function. Basically, the left side of the touchpad is configured as the right side, except instead of scrolling up and down, it is set to follow up to zoom in and zoom out.
