• Equium L20: What drives are compatible

  Hi people I'm looking for some advice.

  I have the Equium L20 for 30 months and would like to put a bigger hard drive in but I'm not sure of what is compatible (installed is Toshiba MK4026GAX 40 GB) I want to put vista and have more space.

  I already have 2048 + ddr2 but now I need space and thought, it would be cheaper to do so than to buy a new laptop.

• Equium L20-197 - wireless connection problems

  Have an old Toshiba laptop Equium L20 - 197, running windows XP Home Edition.

  It contains an Atheros AR5005G wireless network adapter.

  The problem I have is that it will connect to my BT home hub (and says that the connection is excellent), but does not connect to any Web site.

  I added a USB 802.11 wireless adapter g to see if I can get a connection there, and it works very well (even if it is interesting only by using the wireless utility Ralink that comes with it - when I tried with the automatic Windows Wireless Configuration, I had the same problem as before - no internet connection - switched back to the Ralink utility and it works fien again).

  Internal wireless adapter worked fine, but now do not - any suggestion welcome.

  There may be some conflicts between internal WLan card and the new external 802.11 g Wireless USB adapter.

  If not, you should check the configuration of the Atheros AR5005G wireless network adapter.
  In the Device Manager-> card WLan-> properties-> Advanced tab, you can change the WLAN standard 802. 11 (A B G) on the same which is used by the router.

  If the router uses 802.11 G can change this in the Wlan settings too!
  Also check the channel. I put the channel on my router and the wireless network card to 11.

  You can also try to connect to the router without using a WLan encryption. Of course, this should be done only for the test.

• Equium L20-197 - Wi - Fi problems

  I is currently experiencing major problems with connecting to the internet with my computer satellite phone. I have a BT Home Hub and for the last two weeks both my desktop or my laptop have experienced difficulties. They were both showing as being connected to internet but attempts to load the pages up led is no longer / connections delay or pages take up to 10 minutes to load.

  A call to BT, which lasted 90 minutes settled the problem of PC (for now) - the wireless channel is increased from 6 to 9, but my problem laptop has not changed - and now it will connect is no longer automatically to the internet when I connect.   There is nothing on the page of the Toshiba driver too

• Strange problem using cloned hard drive - Equium L20

  I recently cloned the 40 GB Toshiba hard drive in my Equium L20. Boot from the new drive everything starts fine, but for some reason, I can't the LAN or wireless to work!

  For example, to view the settings on the wireless generally show a window with 3 tabs, one for services, one for authentication and one for the firewall (I am running XP here). But on the new disc hard, I see two tabs, the Authentication tab is missing. Looking at the Device Manager on the original hard drive - I have two devices as expected, LAN and Wireless, but on the cloned drive here? loads, including loads of trend Miniport drivers too.

  In my case, I only create an image of a partition C. This partition has been saved as an image .gho file.
  I can always use this file and can restore my C partition on each new HARD disk that is installed in my notebook.

  Are you sure that need the sound driver?
  Maybe some settings are not enabled in the--> sound & audio devices Control Panel
  If you want to get the volume control in the taskbar then you must activate this in sound & audio devices-> Volume tab-> check the option called icon volume space in the taskbar

  I have a laptop Toshiba Equium L20 and I changed the settings viewing and now cannot display anything on the screen to change the settings back.

  I bought a laptop Equium L20 and being graphics, I notices that there is a serious problem with the features of opengl/directx in terms of vertex shaders.

  I create my own 3d applications and I found that shader/pixel pixel programs compile and run quickly on the hardware, but when you compile the vertex shader, they run only on the software that revolves around about 7 fps...

  I can't update the driver on the net, at ATi or here at Toshiba... will you be updated video drivers soon? as it is a big problem for me and maybe a big problem for all those people out there whose games, applications dependent on vertex programs...

  Where did you download the graphics driver?

  You must use the drivers published on the page of the Toshiba driver!
  Don t use any form site manufacturer s graphics card drivers! These drivers are not compatible and you will not be able to install on the Toshiba laptop.

  Please also follow the installation guide lines which are published on the Toshiba driver page in the document "installation instructions"!

• Equium L20-197: Re-install its driver gives BSOD

  I have a Tosh laptop on my bench I am re-construction using the supplied disc that came with the laptop.
  Drivers appearing on the said drive seem to be much use proverbial chocolate firewall.

  First I tried to install display drivers that did not work until I downloaded a new game on the site of tosh.

  Your satellite is supported for Win7?
  As I can see on the Toshiba support page this old notebook is not supported for Win7.

  I recently bought an Equium L20-197 and I thought to install a larger HARD drive.
  I wanted to know what the maximum size of HARD drive that can be installed on an Equium L20-197 (I guess it's 120 GB, as it is on the L20-187 but I'm not 100% sure)

  I have also been seaching for the IDE drives and found a list of sites who have PATA, ATA100 etc. are also the IDE drives? (I checked the wiki and articles all point Yes, but a little more confirmation would not hurt)

  I was also wondering if the HARD drive I install must be brand toshiba (or if it even makes a difference).
