Equium M50: have no windows recovery CD?

I recently bought a laptop from Toshiba Equium M50 and received no windows XP Home Edition CD recovery in case of ever having to restart the system. I thought at the time that I would be able to make my own copy of the hard drive, but it does not seem possible, or if it is I don't know how to do it.
I have been informed that Toshiba should supplement them. Is this true? If so, how to get these CD sent to me? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello

I guess you'll find the image burning function in the Toshiba Console, which is placed on the desktop. Please check this option.

Good bye

  • Equium M50-164 and Windows 7

I am considering upgrading the unit above and introduce more memory for the memory up to 2 GB.
Where are the slots for additional memory?

Second, after you run the MS Upgrade Advisor, I get a message about the graph showing the current graphics adapter won't support Windows Aero User Interface.
Is it possible to upgrade the graphics adapter?

I guess Windows Ultimate or Pro can be installed. Is this correct?
    Your comments would be appreciated.

Do you really think memory is more important for installing Win7?
Your laptop is designed for Windows XP Home edition and the hardware specifications are completely different on laptop designed for Vista or Win7 new.
Anyway, you can try to install Win7, but the problem is that this oldie is not supported and you will not find drivers Toshiba, tools and utilities for it.

A slot is placed under the keyboard and location for additional memory module is in the lower corner in the Middle under the memory cover.

Of course, you can install the Win 7 OS even if Win 7 drivers are not available for this unit.

From my experience the Win 7 automatically looks for drivers and in most cases, the drivers are automatically installed in my case I didn t need to install the display in addition driver Win 7 found the drivers during the installation and process installation

  • Laptop HP 17 p100: how the usb flash drive big that I have to create a system of 10 Windows Recovery?

How the big usb flash drive do I need to create a system of 10 Windows Recovery?

    Yes

    Hello;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

There is really no way accurately guess in advance, with one of the reasons being that the options are available when you do this.  An option creates a recovery drive minimum with what is needed to repair the operating system.  Another option creates an image that is able to completely restore the operating system and its partition.  Thus, the size can vary from 4 GB to the size of the partition to the OS.

Myself, I found as build-in recovery to be unreliable, especially those of Ms.  So instead, I use a third-party imaging/restoration solution known as Macrium Reflect.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

My experience is that SIR, when you use the option of Compression high, typically allows to compress the image file recorded at about 50% of the space USED in the OS partition.  This means that if you have a 40GB and 80GB OS partition is used, MR must only about 20 GB to store the image file.

I use all the time and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to make the backup of the image and at the same time or less do a restore.  In addition, MR has the ability to add a recovery Boot Menu entry.  This then allows you to boot into Windows re, and then you can use it to do a restore - when you cannot start Windows!

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

    Hello

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact Acer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

If you have never received a recovery to buying disk, you won't be hace a recovery Partition

    http://Acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/A_ID/2631

    To start the system recovery:

    1. Restart the computer.
    2. When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the left Alt and F10 keys.
    3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows splash screen, press the Enter key.
    4. After that the Acer eRecovery Management application is loaded, select your type of restore.
    5. Read the review and then click Next when you are ready.
    6. Click Next to start the restore process. It may take 10 minutes up to an hour fom anywhere to restore.
    7. Once the restore is complete, your computer will restart. After the reboot it will load Windows and start the installation of your software and drivers. Your computer will restart several times during this process. Once they are all completed, your computer will be like it was when you bought it first.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

p.s. If the old hard drive is still installed and running before you change on hard drives and you never received the to purchase recovery discs, you can make the recovery discs from the recovery Partition which should be on the old hard drive. You will need to request that the manufacturer how to do as each computer manufacturer has their own way of making records of this partition recovery.

It depends on the old hard drive still works.

Can anyone help me please with a problem?

I recently bought a laptop Equium M50 to help with the work. At the same time, I bought a Vodafone 3 G data for mail recovery card electronic remote access, etc. Whenever I plug the 3G card into the appropriate slot, the laptop turns off completely. Sometimes, I am able to get a connection to the net, but in the minute of connection, the power to the laptop shuts down.

I returned the card 3G to be informed that it works very well, I got a verification of diagnosis by PC World and they inform me that there is no problem with the laptop
I was advised to update the BIOS that I did and realized all of the Windows updates. The problem remains though.

    Hello

I heard about some problem with card Vodafone and models of Toshiba laptops. The problem must be card and a cell phone. Please contact Vodafone and check if they have a few updates available.

Toshiba can't do anything with it. In my opinion, if the laptop slot works well there is end of liability of the manufacturer for laptop.
