  I have a program I developed in 2009 of LV in 2009 and now I'm updating it.  I accidentally opened in 2010 and registered.  There are Microsoft office tools that have been built in LV 2009 that were deleted in 2010 that I used in my program.  So I had to save it as version previous (2009).  After that everything worked and I could run the code and compile I continued to develop.  At one point, I tried to compile and got an error.

  Possible reasons:

  LabVIEW: The path is empty or a parent. You must use an absolute path.

  Now, I realized that if I add a new VI program, it gives this error.  If I remove the VI, it compiles without error.  If I add a white VI without code, it gives the error.  I worked as much as I could without adding a VI but now I need a pop window and need of the VI.  The code is too big to fit the requirements of 6 MB max.

  When you say compilation, do you mean the press run? When exactly this error?

  I suggest that you try to copy all your screws in a new project and try to launch the new project. It seems that your project have been damaged in the process of updating and re-registration of an earlier version.

• Error 116 when a string of binary file reading

  I try to use the 'writing on a binary' and "binary file reading" pair of VI to write a string to a binary file and read it again.  The file is created successfully and a hex editor confirms that the file contains what is expected (a header + chain).  However, when I try to read the string back once again, I received an error 116: "LabVIEW: Unflatten or stream of bytes read operation failed due to corrupted, unexpected or truncated data.»  A quirk I found though, is that if I put "endianness" to "Big-Endian, network order", the error disappears when I use "native, welcome the order" (my original setting) or "little-endian" error occurs.  Did I miss something in the documentation indicating that you can use big endian order when writing of strings, I do something wrong, or is this a bug in Labview?  Because the program that it will be used for is to write large networks, in addition to channels, I would like to be able to stick to the 'native' setting for speed purposes and must not mix "endianness".

  Please contact National Instruments!  I checked the behavior that you have met and agree that it is a bug, it has been reported to R & D (CAR # 130314) for further investigation.  As you have already understood possible workaround is to use the Big-Endian parameter.  Also, I am enclosing another example that converts the string to a binary array before writing to the file, and then converts to a string according to the playback of the file.  Please let me know if you have any questions after looking at this example though and I'll be happy to help you!  Thank you very much for the comments!

  For the last few days I tried to download the different elements as well as download Trend Micro security/antivirus protection.  Whenever I do; try to download something or download something, I get the following error:

  The error can also occur if-

  • The services concerned of the Windows Update stop working.
  • The temporary folder of Windows Update has been damaged.
  • Windows Update Agent does not work.
  • A third-party program affects the WU Service (such as anti-spyware, Internet/web accelerators, programs of firewall/antivirus programs) or the file/update downloaded is corrupt.

  Suggestions:

  1. Make sure that the services are running.

     Click Start, type services.msc in the search box and press ENTER.

     In the right pane, verify that the following three services have been launched:

     (BITS) Background Intelligent Transfer Service
     Windows event log
     Windows Update

     If they have not been started, then start one by one.

Maybe if I deleted as a reboot and additional users it will solve my problems. My updates install OK but I can't run at all system restore.     OK I tried everything and nothing works! Only added beginners are updated browser Opera 10.63; IE9 (Beta); Firefox 3.6.12 and Google Chrome 7.0.517.41 and Java 22. Of course like everyone else in the world, I had to uninstall/enable and disable/download again and reinstall new Adobe Flash 10 and 11 of the shock wave and they keep crashing too! Hello 4 keep screwing browsers and now I get connection network problems. I run Comcast doctor and did everything it said to do, but nothing works. Oh and I added 7-Zip and WinZip also.   I managed to lose the ability to play on line videos. I think it happened after following some recommendations of Mozzila Firefox update. I get "Error" and when it is on youtube, other sites there is nothing, just a blank space.

  Google chrome I have sound but no picture. I installed the latest Java (I think). But I don't know ANYTHING!
