  I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

  Method 1:

• "No audio output device is installed" error. Help, please!

  I went on my computer of Windows 8 this morning and was forced once more to "Configure Windows Updates". As always, it was impossible to stop it from happening. So I let it happen. Now usually updates (apparently) do nothing. But I was very angry to see that my audio was broken. He wouldn't let me turn off/turn on the sound, and if I scroll to the left and click on settings, the healthy thing says 'off '. If I go over it it says "No audio output device installed."
