Error 42 - Windows 7 - no administrator privileges

Hello

I'm having trouble running LabVIEW 7 Express on Windows 7 without administrator privileges. It works very well with admin rights. Please see the attachment for the error. (Error 42 - generic error)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Thank you. Will there be a version that supports Windows 7 in the future?

A version of LabVIEW? They are a number of versions before 7.

There were already 8.x, 2009, and now they're on 2010.

I don't know if Windows 7 is 'officially' supported, but it should work well with newer versions of LabVIEW

Don't read too much into this error.  When a program installs, please put the files in certain directories and add entries in the system registry.  If for some reason, she finds that he can not create a file or registry entry it often over-simplistically assume that it is because you are not an administrator user and hot flashes to the top of this error.  Reality and administrator may be denied the privilege to directories and records like any other user.  This can occur due to malware or a too aggressive security program or a corrupted file system.  If I was in your position, I would first like to run a "chkdsk /f" and if that did not help, run the freeware "Process Monitor" and are trying to determine which directory or registry did not allow changes that are needed.  Not for the hearts-of-heart, this program can easily provide the information overload.

The quick check to see if you have administrator privileges is to right-click on 'start '.  If "Open All Users" is one of the options that are displayed in the window, then you have administrator privileges.

I installed windows 8 on my Lenovo G560 but I don't have administrative privileges for some reason any. I tried the command net user Adminstartor/active: Yes , but still my local account doesn't have administrative privileges (I replaced the administrator with my local account name). I can't even start services SRS HD Audio because of the same. anyone can help and can suggest an alternative to the HD Audio SRS as appropriate. any help will be much appreciated.

Thank you much for the help that you assigned but I just found the solution to my problem. My account of windows 8 has full administrator rights now, and I can now customize my windows to my taste. I also installed SRS HD Audio, which had already failed to install. I discovered that my Windows 8 has been properly activated. When I did a clean install of Windows 8 to solve my problem of .NET Framework 3.5, I activated it correctly myself and she gave me a full administrator rights. Thanks for the help. Very much appreciated.

  • How to stop the exploitation of windows 8 pro administrator privileges File Explorer

Security of Norton had a problem activating.  I called Norton.  The tech support agent took control of my computer.  Norton was uninstalled and reinstalled.  The task has been completed as an administrator.  Norton was asked to enter a PIN activate.  Asked me to call Qwest to get the PIN.  Norton comes as a package with CenturyLink DSL.  The tech support agent uninstalled both Qwest and Norton to reinstall both at the same time.  My computer was working fine.  The next morning at startup, I got a message that said: File Explorer is running for administrator privileges.  Restart the Explorer of files normally and try again.  I can't find how to do this.

I had exactly the same problem, and it's super easy.

    1. press Ctrl + SHIFT + ESC. This opens the Task Manager.

    2. scroll and click on Windows Explorer.

    3. click on restart.

That's all there is to it!

  • Windows XP Professional /administrateur privledges

I have windows XP Professional and I lost administrator privledges and can not remove or add software.  How to establish administrator privledges to add and or remove software?

How do you know that you have lost the privilege of administrator?  Many programs will set up an error saying you need the administrator privileges at the first sign of any trouble.  Many times it is because of something other than that.
Quick test: right click on the button 'start '.
If "Open All Users" is one of the options that opens, then you have administrator privilege.

How to recover depends on how you lost the privilege (deactivation of the only administrator account, it's a way, forget your admin password is another).  With a little more information, we can push you in the right direction.

  • Why the App Manager think I need administrator privileges to install updates?

I am a subscriber of creative cloud, and when I opened apps (for example, Muse) I receive a message to install upgrades (or not). If I ask to install, I wonder for info login and password, which is then denied and I get an error message that I need administrator privileges. If the installation fails.

I can sign in to this site using my login and password, so this isn't the problem. I can also open the application (without update), but these are listed as being time sensitive: only available until, for example, on 14 June. But there is no way for me to install these new versions. Help!

This is where updates their files / registry keys. For example, install/update Flash Player DURATION has always access required admin life file in the operating system folder tree (on Windows, this is in system32/C:\windows\system32\macromed). Registry-Wise, Adobe put the keys in HKCU and HKLM - the latter is read-only for normal users.

If you manage a network with the enterprise licensed software, there are tools for creative Cloud allowing a Manager to build packages for deployment to base installers and updates offline. If your users have copies of the retail of CC, is not an option and all must be managed on a basis by computer.

  • Silent automatic update requires administrator privileges

What I read silent automatic update functionality is supposed to use the system account, then the user may be a non-admin and it will update always silently in the background. However, users receive the following error message to appear:

    Adobe Flash Player 11.7 Setup

The installation has encountered any errors:

You must have administrator privileges to install Adobe Flash Player. Please log on with administrative privileges and try again.

I configured the file mms.cfg as follows:

    SilentAutoUpdateEnable = 1

    AutoUpdateDisable = 0

Any ideas why this happens? Would like a way to get in mode silent auto update to the latest version of flash, even if the user is admin no, since all our users perform as such. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

So, I realized what is happening. Silent update creates a scheduled task, but the task scheduler has been disabled on all our computers. This is why silent updater was not working and was instead just using the standard update control. You can close this case. Thank you.

Whenever I do, I get the above error message.  Error: Access is denied.  Cannot create [filename]. Administrative privileges may be required.

I am the administrator on this computer, and I believe that I have administrator privileges.  I just upgraded to Win 7, I had this problem on Vista.

So, how can ensure me that I got really full administrative privileges?  Create an administrative user, then delete me?
