I am an owner fitbit and downloaded their app on my macbook pro several weeks ago. I have consulted this app to review the progress of fitbit several times a day since. Today, I can't do that. I can not even access the Fitbit site. I get an error 400 - your browser sent an invalid request.

Service Pack1, kept getting this error, should upgrade to service pack 2 (for Vista) - still getting this error. Somewhere, I found referance that this update has to do with some features of Internet Explorer. Could be as this box appears on occasion:

I click on cancel or ignore (depending on my level of frustration) and should do so several times before the box disappears. Then, everything continues as usual.I don't see any other negative effect of this failure of the update or the pop up box (they can not yet be linked).

First, you have to run two anti-virus programs. This is NOT recommended.
Second... you state one of them is Microsoft Security Essentials. If this is the case, you can't turn on Windows Defender because MSE already made defender and stops automatically Defender because it is no longer necessary.
Difficulty of these 2 things and your problem should be solved.
