error 8007005
Hello
For the last week, I can't get windows updates. I am running windows vista Home premium on a Dell Inspiron 531. I checked the permissions, disabled UAC, tried running as administrator updates, renamed the old C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder and created a new, checked the DCOM security and updated download the Subinacl utility. None of this has worked. What I'm trying next please?
This problem may be caused by third-party security programs such as firewalls and antivirus software. You can disable or remove to check the issue.
But let on the Windows Firewall.

How can I fix?
Thank you.
After you have entered here the possible solution error code is composed as follows by microsoft:
Error code 0 x 80070005 is also described as 'ACCESS DENIED'. It happens usually when you have the permissions of file or registry that are required to install the updated (because the file or registry permissions can be changed by malware, we recommend that you are investigating anti-malware after repairing permissions).
To resolve this problem, make sure that you are logged on as administrator and install updates again. If the problem persists, use the SubInACL tool to repair the permissions of files and registry. To do this, follow these steps:
- Download the SubInACL tool and install it in the folder % windir%\system32. The placeholder % windir % represents the Windows system folder. For example, C:\Windows.
- Start Notepad, and then copy and paste the following commands:
off @echo
Subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Grant = administrators = f/Grant = system = f
Subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Grant = administrators = f/Grant = system = f
Subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/Grant = administrators = f/Grant = system = f
Subinacl /subdirectories % windir % / Grant = administrators = f/Grant = system = f
@Echo =========================
Completed @Echo.
@Echo =========================
@pause - Save the file as reset.cmd.
- Right-click the Reset.cmd file in file Explorer (in Windows 8.1 and Windows 8) or Windows Explorer (in Windows 7 and Windows Vista) and then click Run as administrator. In Windows XP, double-click the file in Windows Explorer.
- Wait for execution and then try to install the update again.
Note refer to Possible delivers everything using the SubInAcl tool if you receive errors during execution of SubInAcl.

Hello
We already have some time had a problem with the error code 'Windows cannot check updates' 8007005. It seems that our computer has never been last updated with service packs, etc.
Now these days we sometimes get a "blue screen" that usually never promises a lot of good.
Could you please let me know how to solve this problem and find out if these two things are linked?
Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi PA bear
Thank you for your interest for my problem. Another long session of trial and error on this issue. I tried different solutions offer after having read a few other answers users forum, tried to find PowerShell in the M/S Download Center but failed in the present. At the end of the day, I gave up and disconnected.
I started my PC this morning and found that M/S Windows 7 has set its self, so Windows Update now as it should. What was wrong with Windows for 24 hours? I got a popup saying there had been a failure, and a report was compiled and sent to M/S.
I tried to reload the McAfee security software but failed, which resulted in an email exchange with a member of the McAfee technical support team that took control of my keyboard and mouse. I noticed that it resets the default values for the original settings and remove the history of Solution Explorer. After these adjustments, I was able to reload the McAfee security software and fortunately my PC is protected and that it works correctly.
What was the problem with M/S Windows 7 on this occasion is a mystery to me, I thought for a moment that I had picked up a virus. I don't think that this report will be of value to other users?

I'm trying to remove Pending.xml from winsxs son. When I click on remove it says I need administrative privelages. Please help me, I'm doing this because I can't get windows updates, I havee windows Vista 64-bit edition family. Help, please!
Thank you

Try this first.
Ensure that the pending operations are completed
Try a reboot. Before restarting the service (installer of Modules of Windows DisplayName) trustedInstaller to automatic started. Normally it is manual, except if an operation such as windows update requires an installation of starting time.
Click Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator. Type (or copy the below line and a line empty below and right click in the command prompt window and choose Paste).
trustedinstaller sc config = auto start
Then restart
Then remove the type in a command prompt as above
del c:\windows\WinSxS\pending.xml
or Start - All Programs - Accessories - right click, run as administrator - Windows Explorer.
It's my full post on WinSxS
WinSxS folder
The WinSxs is the central repository of records for Windows. All installed files are placed in the WinSxS folder, including updated files up-to-date. So, you will have a lot of different versions of each file, allowing you to roll back service packs and Windows updates to a previous state.
The current version of a file is hardlinked to the appropriate place in the rest of the file system. A hard link is a file name. All files have at least one hard link. Windows system files (usually) have two links in hard, one in WinSxS and one in c:\windows\system32. The two names pointing to the same bytes on the disk.
As the files have two names, they are counted twice by Solution Explorer, once once of WinSxS and System32.
There are other uses for it as well. It allows several programs to use different versions of DLLs.
The system update tool
Ensures the consistency of the folder WinSxS (Side by Side).

For 32-bit Windows
http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=504
For 64-bit Windows
http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=1540
To see the results click on Start - All Programs - Accessories - right click on command prompt and choose run as administrator. Type (or copy the below line and a line empty below and right click in the command prompt window and choose Paste).
Notepad %SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
Then delete this folder to recover the 100 MB.
del /s "C:\Windows\CheckSur".
Start the scavenger
Add or remove a feature from Windows Control Panel - programs and features launches cleanup on Vista.
The sizes are not what they seem
Generally, WinSxS files are hardlinked. A hard link is a file name. Each file has at least one hard link. Files in WinSxS and system32 usually are hard links to the same file. Therefore, you count twice the same file in system32 and WinSxS.

I have vista for two years, and today discovered that I received ZERO updates at this time. Windows Update can't check solutions (error 8008005) after some research on this site, I tried to validate certain .dll files and received this error 8007005. I tried to download and install SP2 manually and installing, I received error 0 x 80080005. I tried a clean boot and then update and got the same error 80005. I use McAfee firewall/antivirus provided by my supplier dsl and read that this could cause the problem. I still have to find bulletins or discussions on this topic on the web.
redneck_toy,
Do you have another anti-virus installed before installing McAfee? If so, you need to make sure that you run the removal of this software tool to completely remove the software. I would say that you can also use the McAfee removal tool to uninstall McAfee, and then try the updates, and then reinstall McAfee. Also take a look at this link:

Windows 7 update does not not Error 80070002
Hello
I bought a new computer from office in February 2015. It came with Windows 7 Professional SP1 is installed. As far as I know, the updater has stopped working early August 2015. I did not notice until November when I started having the BSOD make. BSOD issues were fixed by replacing the RAM. I was not able to get Wu to work. I get an Error 80070002. I was getting this error when I got BSOD problems.
I downloaded system preparation tool. I have the option of WU or BITS. When you run the WU, the result is sign up for the Service is missing or corrupt (fixed) and discovered problems to install recent updates (not fixed). When executing the PIECES, I get the same thing, more an error 8007005 (not fixed).
I have reset my WU SET of components through the automatic.
I tried the command prompt raised by what follows,
net stop wuauserv
CD %SystemRoot%\System32
Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
net start wuauserv
no luck. Then I tried to download the last Agent WU. It would download and try to install, but I received the following message. "Windows Update agent has met with a fatal error." I looked at the version I have. It's 7.6.7601.19016
Then I tried the command prompt raised by what follows,
regsvr32 Jscript.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dllWhile they did save, WU still doesn't work.
I tried to reset the WU components manually. An error I got was "Module mshtml.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found. I also had this error for the following files: shdocvw.dll, browseui.dll, qmgr.dll.
I also have the following error. 'The module failed to load msxml.dll' I also had this error on the following files: gpkcsp.dll, sccbase.dll, slbcsp.dll, c:\windows\system32\muweb.dll, initpki.dll, wuaueng1.dll, c:\windows\system32\dllcache\wucltui.dll and wuweb.dll.
I'm out of ideas how to run Wu.
Can you help me please?
Thank you.
I upgraded my ASUS K52F Notebook for Windows 10 on July 29, 2015. I fought with Microsoft for 7 months for a PATCH to cause problems with Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge Online. No technical support from Microsoft could find a SOLUTION to my problems on Windows 10. So, I bought a new Western Digital 500 GB hard drive black. I removed my Hitachi 500 GB hard drive with 10 Windows and installed my new unallocated hard in my book. I dug my Windows 7 Home Premium OEM Operating System disks provided with my laptop when I bought it. I restored my laptop that I use now, back to Win 7. After restoration of Win 7, I went to Windows Update and tried to find the updates for the first time. I got a X RED and 2 Error Codes (0xc8000247 & 0xc8000222), after searching a FIX of the Web, I found 3 PATCHES.
1 FIX tried: I had to install (NetFramework V4.5) for Windows Update and here is the link where I found the download: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653 download, install, reboot.
2nd FIX tried: I had to install (Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver) for my new 500 GB hard drive. Here is the link where I got it: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/product/55005/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST- download, install, reboot.
3rd FIX tried: this DIFFICULTY, I took a picture of my phone because I didn't have my loading printing software so I could print actually fixed my Windows Update do not answer question, after restarting wuauserv file in the command CMD, I went to Windows Update, you click on check the updates and after a few minutes , Windows Update has begun ads updated to choose from, worked great after you restart the Windows Update program. NOTE I did hard restart my cable Modem by unplugging the power cord for 2 minutes and then rebooted my Cable Modem before this 3rd correction.
Windows Update not responding do not after Windows 7 restore
FIX SOLVED!
Step 1: Click Start
Step 2: Type in: cmd
Step 3: right click on cmd in the start menu and select "run as Administrator"
Step 4: Type: net stop wuauserv
Step 5: Press enter
Step 6: Type: ren c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old
Step 7: Press enter
Step 8: Type: net start wuauserv
Step 9: Press enter
Step 10: Type: exit
Step 11: Press enter
Step 12: Go to Windows Update and updates
To do this, step by step as written above and notice the required spaces as written and the update of Windows will start to work again. This FIX is allowing you to restart Windows Update Command.
When you type: net stop wuauserv (net (space) (space) Stop wuauserv)
When you type: ren c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution softwaredistribution.old (softwaredistribution.old c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution(spacebar) ren (space)
When you type: net start wuauserv (net (spacebar) start (spacebar) wuauserv)
NOTE: It confused me too on my first try, but I quickly figured it after the PATCH twice in a row and it worked for me.
Now my updates come left and right, last night I got 1 update that has been setup for Windows), then 96 updates before going to bed. This morning I had 286 updates installed, get them now.
All I can say is what I said here, it worked for me and I thought I'd share my experience with this correction for others, I hope this work for you as it did for me. Thank you! GTIN

I still can't use the printer, and I can't install .NET framework 3.5 update with error 80070645. I have done checkdisk and memory test and they can't find any problems. Here is the text of Accesschk:

Thanks again,
RyanHey Ryan,
If the list of items that you pasted in your previous post presents the problem registry keys. It seems that the appropriate permissions for these keys have been stripped. Here are the steps that you can try to solve the problem. Please do not forget to mark the thread as "Response" if it solves the problem.
1. download Windows PowerShell:
First you will need to download a tool called PowerShell V2 (CTP3) starting from Microsoft Download Center: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c913aeab-d7b4-4bb1-a958-ee6d7fe307bc&displaylang=en
2. install Windows PowerShell:
Then, double-click the file you downloaded to install the tool. Please note that you may get a message indicating:
"Windows PowerShell (TM) V2 (CTP3) remote features may not work correctly in this version of the operating system". What is expected based on the version of Windows Vista (eg Home Premium). On this same screen, click on install to continue.
3. launch the PowerShell:
Once you have downloaded the PowerShell, click on the start menu and type "PowerShell" in the search field. Click Windows PowerShell in the result of research for loach tool. If the tool is running properly, you'll get a window with a blue background, with a command prompt "PS C:\ >.
4. at the command prompt (PS C:\ >), type each of the following commands (a to f) followed by the Enter key.
Tip: You should be able to paste each of the commands one by one. Simply right-click in the window and select Paste.a. $acl = get-acl-path "hklm:\software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing"
b. $inherit = [system.security.accesscontrol.InheritanceFlags] 'ContainerInherit', 'ObjectInherit.
c. $propagation = [system.security.accesscontrol.PropagationFlags] 'InheritOnly'
d. $rule = new-object system.security.accesscontrol.registryaccessrule "NT TrustedInstaller service", "FullControl", $hériter, $propagation, "allow."
e. $acl.addaccessrule ($rule)
f. $acl | Set - acl
(If you get an error message, take a brief description of the error and let me know.)
6. close the PowerShell window and test Windows Update
Kind regards

When my son was using my computer, Vista has tried to run an automatic update. When the computer asked if the program could access the internet, he clicked "always block" by mistake. He does not remember what program he blocked. Where can I find out what programs are needed to run and develop day and/or which programs Vista has blocked the racing? I can't even download and manually install the software. When I try, I get the access denied error (8007005). I am the admin. for this computer and have rites at all (I tried patches mamy for who already have).
Thanks for any help.
ChrisThis problem may be caused by third-party security programs such as firewalls and antivirus software.
Make sure it is not blocked:
