error A 80071, 90 - after trying to install security updates, the PC reboots but cannot configure Windows

Try to download security updates, but after restarting the computer it says it can't reconfigure windows?

Hello

I also have this problem with the error code A 80071, 90 now on a total of 13 edits. Number of KB include: KB2731847, KB2705219, KB2722913, KB2647753

I tried several times, I've used Fixit to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/836941 , who reports that he found and fixed two problems, yet when I try another day the same error is there.

Any suggestions what to do?

    Hello

    1. is that the copy of windows is enabled?

2 is the issue limited to the installation of a security update Cumulative for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows Vista (KB2699988)?

I suggest to perform the steps in the following article and check.

Method 1: run the Windows update troubleshooting tool and check.

The problem with Microsoft Windows Update is not working http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/windows_update/

Method 2: I suggest you to put the computer in a clean boot state and check if Windows update installs successfully.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    Hi Asdlfjasdfjlasdf,

How did you install ServicePack initially?

You can try to start safe mode and try to perform a system restore.

    Step 1:

For a safe boot, you can follow the below given steps:

    1. remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.

    2. do one of the following:

    a. If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

    b. If your computer has multiple operating systems, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.

    3. in the display Advanced Startup Options, use the arrow keys to select the option of safe mode you want and press ENTER. For more information about the options, see startup options (including safe mode).

4 log your computer with a user account with administrator rights.

When your computer is in safe mode, you will see marked Safe Mode in the corners of the screen. To leave safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

If you are able to boot to the desktop in safe mode try doing a restore of the system at a point when the computer was working fine.

For more information on Safe Mode, follow the link below:

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2:

To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    2. in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next

    3. in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next

    4. click on finish

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

  • Error message "Access is denied" when trying to install or update the drivers

Original title: Impossible to install new drivers on my system

    Hey guys,.

I have a strange problem. I can't install a new driver on my system can't update all the old drivers. In safe mode, I am able to install any driver, I need, but when I restart later to normal mode, new drivers cannot run.

When I try to install a driver, I get the following message:

Again, this is not specific for the USB MTP device, I get this message for EVERY new driver that I try to install.

    PS:

    Windows updates fail also.

What I read online error 'Access denied.' has something to do with the registry values... but I don't know exactly. Already tried to uninstall/reinstall the drivers, all the controls for viruses, malware and adware are out own... Don't know what else to try

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you

Thank you for your quick response, but I already managed to solve this problem.

Who still has the same problem in the future:

It turns out that I had some kind of malware that block access to directories and files system. I used the software "Malware Bytes" (they have a free trial version), and there are lots of malware other programs did not. After cleaning and restarted my computer, everything was back to normal!

    Thank you

  • My Halo CE says that my product key is not valid after I have install and update the game.

I install my copy of Halo CE on my computer. I enter the product key and accept the key. I update my game and everything is still fine then. After that I restarted the game as required, he said that my product key is not valid. I do not understand why he said it. I know that it is valid. I used the said product key to unlock the Halo Reach for this Halo nameplate on the site Web of Bungie. I'm not sure why this is happening. In addition, this product key is not the key supplied with the disc. I lost my old drive and had to borrow one from a friend.

  • Problem with starting after trying to install XP.

I have a Samsung NF110 netbook with an external cd drive. The hard drive has two partitions - c: and d:. C: installed Windows 7 and d: was empty. I wanted a machine to dual-boot with Windows 7 and XP in different partitions. I tried to install XP on the d: partition but during installation only choice was installed on the c: partition (replace Windows 7). I decided to do it and then I hope to install Windows 7 on the d: partition later. The installation process copied all files XP from the CD, but when it came to restart it has always tried to boot from the cd and start the implementation process. I tried to remove the cd drive, and then it came with NT invalid Boot.ini detect failed. I tried various suggestions found on forums to fix this. The most popular seems to be to get to the Recovery Console, and then type bootcfg/list and bootcfg /rebuild. When I do bootcfg/list it shows a Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition installed. However after the rest of the instructions for example enter the loading and do/fastdetect identifier does not solve the problem. Someone at - it any other suggestions to correct what I guess is an MBR corrupted. Wouldn't be better to just format the entire hard drive and start from scratch?

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/8057-dual-boot-installation-Windows-7-XP.html

You must install the oldest OS first, so XP first then win 7. XP doesn't know how to run win 7, so if you install after win 7, you will lose the ability to boot under win 7. A repair of Windows 7 installation can fix.

install xp and when you do, be sure to create 2 partitions, one for xp and one for win 7
