• Vista - Error Code: 646. (Cannot install the Office updates)

  For my personal use, I have my laptop of Dell Studio with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium since 2008.   I already tried the MISCONFIG and TOOLS to DISABLE the UAC and LAUNCH/OK, but I still have problems with these updates reflecting a 'success' of the download.  Help please. Thank you.

  Oh - and if you use the device - if it is * installed *-keep it patched.  There is a lot of duplication of products inside the suite Microsoft Office - better if you have installed all parts, you keep all these pieces that have been updated.

  Original title: my computer will not install updates. Its a major update of security as well and I'm afraid something may happen to my laptop, if it is not updated. =(

  • What security update that you are trying to install?
  • You are able to correctly install the other updates?
  • What operating system is installed on your machine?

  You can perform the clean boot and then download and install the update manually from the Microsoft Download Center.

  Boot start Windows7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs and helps eliminate software conflicts.

  It will not install updated security, every time that start us PC, update downloads, but will not be installed. 66A error code is displayed, apparently unknown error.

  Open Windows Update in Control Panel. Click on the link "view update history". Note the number of the * defective * updates.

  Then, go here: Microsoft Download Center http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/Search.aspx

  Download updates by searching the KB number, save updates said to date.

  When you all, close Internet Explorer and install them one at a time.

  NOTE: do not forget to download updates for the architecture of the system. x 86 (32 bit) x 86 (32 bit), versions of the systems; x 64 (64-bit) versions for x 64 (64-bit) systems.
