  2. do you have security software installed on the computer?

  3. did you of recent changes on the computer?

  I suggest that reset you the Windows Update components by default and then try to install the update.

  Reluctant to do a reinstall of windows.  I had the same problem, find the same useless information on a cure.  I did a reinstall of windows (Vista) and partially by installing the updates of windows I ran into the same problem again, the windows installer does not.  Even from scratch will get not anywhere, leaving you at least your system as it stands leaves can be used instead of a partially updated with no program system.

  80040153 translates into "class not registered".

  I recommend trying to re-register the DLL from Windows Update files by using method 4 in the article below:

It caused my computer to freeze; the facility itself has weighed for up to 6 hours (!); end the session became impossible so I have to hold the power button to get my computer to cut, otherwise it crashes for hours (see previous page); and whenever I try to install, it remains empty for the second phase, I just then cancel, inevitably causing my computer down for the umpteenth time. For the love of God, someone please help me. I've scoured the forums without success, and I have now spent more time trying to troubleshoot the computer instead of using it to produce a work.

• Vista - Error Code: 80070645 (cannot install the update KB959209)

  I'm currently under that Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2 installed.

  Windows Update KB959209 was recently downloaded for installation.

  Unfortunately, it does not install and generates Code 80070645.

  I tried to uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 as recommended on many forums in various ways, but I always get an error trying to reinstall it.  It will uninstall programs and features in the control panel and it does not appear in the Windows Installer Clean Up scroll box.

  Can someone please suggest a solution to actually install KB959209, please?
