Error installing XP on new hard drive - Presaro V3700 Notebook PC
Hello
I try to get Win - XP Home installed on a new hard drive, but whenever I try to install xp I get this error. (see below) funny thing is he had xp installed on the old disk hard until it packed.
The XP CD load installation of Windows right up to the settings window, but stops / crashes with this error.
The BIOS in this system is not fully compatible with ACPI, contact the system vendor or visit www,hardware-update.com for an update of the bios. He's going to say a few words about the F7 key, but that does not work.
I tried looking for a bios update but do not know who or what to do.
help please

So, I ordered a set of HP recovery disks. I finally get around to retrieve Win8 on the new HARD drive. However, I follow these instructions and it does NOT work. I get to the Boot Manager and nothing is there - at all. So, I went back to the BIOS and disabled secure boot (just in case). Yet, nothing. After several hours, I dropped... Flash forward to today. I have enabled the legacy starts, moved DVD player y up in my order of start and stuck in a Win7 disc, I have here. One immediately recognizes the disc. I finally decided to try to install recovery using USB thought which may help. So, I had on my desktop and tried to rip an .iso of the disks. Both PowerISO and IMGBurn rise "IO error" partially through the period of inquiry. I'm starting think that the discs are bad... That would not explain why can't I see my optical drive in the Boot Manager however. Thoughts? It was records. I downloaded a copy of Win8 and it began immediately. Re-installing xp pre-installed on a new hard drive. Hello My PC came with Windows XP pre-installed, so I don't have a disk or serial number that I know. Ask the manufacturer of your computer, see the documentation or check on Ken Blake (MS-MVP) I currently have a Windows Vista PC. It has two SATA drives, one with the operating system, the one I use for storage. I want to buy a new SATA hard drive and install a new copy of Windows 7 top. I want to know the steps to follow to do this. My plan is this: 1. turn the pc power off and open the case. 2. remove the old hard disks 3. plug the new empty hard drive 4. turn on the pc and the insertion of the disc to install to Win7 for DVD-ROM drive 5. enter in the bios and put the DVD-ROM as first boot device 6. install win 7 on new hard drive. Is this correct? Because my next question is important: 7. Turning off the computer. 8 reconnect the two old hard drives. New total number of SATA drives connected = three. Now when I restart the PC and login to Win 7, it lists two other drives as, for example, D:\ and E:\ readers? How can I make this work? Thank you very much! Thanks for your reply, but I don't want to dual boot. I just want to have the hard drive as the master drive Windows7 and the old two drives as slaves, where I can access files as the pictures and letters. Any help would be appreciated! Well, I would disconnect all drives hard current interns, then connect the new hard drive, reinstall Windows 7, re - attach the old readers as slaves and copy all the data you need to on the disc of Windows 7. I tried using recovery software that was created by the local store here and when it doesn't work, I borrowed a copy of Windows 7 Home premium from a friend. During the first boot of windows, the software times out with an error E9. The original software recovery disk only arrives at 8%, then stays there. In an effort to solve the problems, I downloaded the cyberlink "fix" (from this website) and created the CD, this update was for arising problems while performing a system restore, but that did not fix my problem and so... I decided to borrow the copy of windows 7 Home premium. If I'm stuck with a boat anchor? I don't really want to bring it to HP for repair! Any help would be appreciated! Thank you Hello Your PC model number was first delivered in 2009. The COA PC is Win 7 64 bit or are you referring to the COA for the Win 7 install disc? HP recovery disks are generally reluctant to HARD drive smaller than what has been delivered with the PC. It is from your PC, comes with a 1 TB HARD drive. Thus the recovery disks created by the repair shop should work on a 1 TB HARD drive, unless they are defective. Is the advanced format HDD 1 TB HARD drive? I think that previous versions of HP Win 7 recovery disks will not work on an advanced format HDD. You can order a set of recovery discs here. Or you could try to download the right version of Win 7 SP1 Refresh of ISO media here, burn it to disc and try to reinstall Win 7 64 bit with the disc. You should be able to activate Windows 7 using the certificate of Authenticity affixed to your PC. You may also have a problem with the SATA controller on the motherboard or it could be a problem with the SATA port you use. Try another SATA cable and connect it to another motherboard SATA port. Is- this utility from Cyberlink you tried to use it with the HP recovery discs? I'm out of ideas. Maybe another more knowledgeable forum member has some additional thoughts. Jaco Check read the code 0000 T500 failed error even with a new hard drive Hello My T500 was slammed very hard one day, once I reboot, he worked for half an hour and gave up. I presume that the HD is dead, inserted an a healthy Interior and works very well for a few hours and give up once again, tested by BIOS gave me the same error code. I was wondering what problem could be? best, Sy Yuanshi wrote: I presume that the HD is dead, inserted an a healthy Interior and works very well for a few hours and give up once again, tested by BIOS gave me the same error code.
You can also prove that it is a SATA interface error by testing two hard drives in a box USB or Firewire. If you can live without portability, then perhaps this is also an option to use the T500 in the future. April 2, 2016 For several days, I have reproduced this problem by starting with a W7Sp1 drive and also start with a considerably older drive of W7. The old installation of W7 is going very well, first run of WUpdate receives a few fixes, apply and restart. Rerun WUpdate and she finds Sp1. Installation of Sp1. Rerun Wupdate and it says to upgrade to a new Wupdate. After the SP1 update and the new windows update, this system offers the same WUpdate symptoms as if from the W7Sp1 disk. Immediately after the installation of the drive, run the wupdate. He said: it must be updated to a new Wupdate. (PS in each Installer Win7, I authenticated the product key and activated windows.) After that, Windows Update never runs you want fixed. (Left running 10 hours overnight). (NO OTHER programs or anything like that is installed after installing Win7 and starting with Windows Update problems). ============================================================= I found 2 programs: FixitAllUp. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 - downloading "MicrosoftFixit.wu.MATSKB.Run". (Chasing a "minimal boot"). The last time I have raced, he said if found 2 problems, but only fixed a. I hit the button Details where he says that he finds the same 2 problems and fixed them BOTH. It corrects "Missing or damaged registration Service" he said: he can't solve 'Installation problems of the recent updates' - but when you hit details it button show both under "green checkmark" FIXED. (I also tried to run this several times, and he always finds and he said exactly the same thing, as did the first round). Also have run "WindowsUpdateDiagnostic" downloaded from the microsoft site. It's the same notes 2 problems and fixed one or both depending on if you are looking the summary or detail. I read many many cases of a problem that dates back to 2011 and with various assumptions for this problem. AND YET, Windows Update checks the updates for EVER and EVER. Help There is a solution and it works very well... Windows Update problem (new) The following procedure applies in the case of installation (reinstall) Windows 7. It does not apply to a usual, normal day. I'm afraid that you will do the reinstall again. Not a terrible penalty to pay. Usually takes less than an hour. Then immediately proceed to the next procedure. It's strange, but it really does work and many people have proved it. NEVER install anything other than Windows updates until your system is up-to-date. Once you have the list update, install all together. Installation of updates in batches is not expedite the process or do better.
