Error "Windows explore has stopped working" when you open the file in my documents
Original title: opening a file in the folder my documents
Whenever I try to open a file in my documents folder, specifically a CV that I downloaded on a construction site. I get a message that windows Explorer has stopped working?
Hi dalintn,
1. What is the file format of the document?
2. are you able to open documents from other locations?
3. did you of recent changes on the computer?
Check if the similar problem persists when you access the document from any other location on the computer.
Method 1
This error message can occur if there is some system files corrupted on your computer. I suggest that you run a SFC scan, which would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.
The analysis may take some time, so be patient. Windows allows to fix corrupt or missing files it finds. If the information of the installation CD is required to fix the problem, you may be asked to insert your Windows Vista installation CD.
For more information please visit the link below.
How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Method 2
If the previous step fails then I would suggest that you do clean boot and check.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

Reset the computer to start as usual
When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:
(a) click Start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.
(b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
(c) under the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.
(d) when you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart.
I hope this helps!

It also has this message attached to it. C:\Windows\system32\hpzidr12.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the provider of software for support.
Hello
- When you receive this error message?
- What were the changes made before the problem occurred?
You can view these methods:Method 1:I suggest you to disconnect from all the outdoor devicec except keyboard and mouse and check.Method 2:I recommend you perform the clean boot.
Configuration of your system in a clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.
See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

Once I've upgraded to Windows 10 and when I drag an email in the Inbox to another folder, Thunderbird crashes and displays "Not responding" for 30 to 60 seconds. Not all the time but more than half the time. It's the same thing I move a simple email or select a bit and drag everything at the same time. I use 38.3.0 with Firefox 42.0.
Thank you

How to open a new window when you open a file from a slide on Captivate 9
I am almost at the end of my first e-learning project on Captivate 9 and I have a small question: when I open a PDF file to a slide via a hyperlink or a button (via an ' action'), it's just switching page in the web browser instead of opening a new window.
So I need to press return to return to the project, but it is up to the start screen.
Is it possible to open a second window instead of 'project closing' when opening a file?
Thanks in advance for your help.
You must select 'new' in the dropdown menu next to the link entry field.

Error message 'invalid base64 in continuous response data' when you try to access the mail server
Under Thunderbird 16.0.2 Mac running OS 10.5.8 that worked perfectly for 6 years. Today I suddenly can't connect to the mail server Westnet (Western Australia). Automated or manual sending my password Gets the response "the password sending has failed. "Mail server mail.westnet.com.au replied: data not valid base64 in continuous response.
I always have access to the web and can access my email via the web portal of Westnet or using the Mail from Mac client. Using Thunderbird but I can not connect.
This sounds like the server think your already logged in. Try to turn off the machine for 10-15 minutes and have a cup of tea. This should be long enough to force a timeout if there is something hung up at the end of westnet and try again.

I have not received in time. How long it takes it and what options do I have if it is not received in the next 12 hours?

Need help with Windows logon: LongonUI.exe - bad Image
I recently received this message when you try to start windows:
Longon window: LogonUI.exe - bad Image
C:\Windows\system32\dwmapi.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try to install the program by using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the provider of software for support.
It gives me the message on a completely black screen, then if you click on OK or exit it message the screen remains black. I did some research on it and found that a recovery disk should help me with my problem.
I don't have a recovery for my computer disk, so I ordered a via eBay windows 7 recovery disc, from a user with 100% + comments, I got tired of the to use to repair my system, using the system recovery options, but when I used it I got a new error:
System recovery option
This version of System Recovery Options is not compatible with the version of Windows that you want to repair. Try to use a recovery disc that is compatible with this version of Windows.
I did some additional reading and also used the Bootrec.exe tool in the command prompt, but still no luck with the repair of my computer.
Any help would be appreciated.
I was going to reformat my computer soon, but I'd like to at least make it work so I can transfer all my files on an external hard drive first.
Thank you
Hello
Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.
According to the description, I understand that you are facing in your Windows startup problems. I will certainly help you to question.
The question might be if there is a file system corruption. So I would say that you want to run auto repair before you reinstall the operating system. To perform the task, I suggest you to try the steps below and see if it helps.
Method 1:
When you use the recovery (Windows RE) environment to resolve startup problems, first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If this does not resolve the problem, or if you have additional problems manually, use the Bootrec.exe tool.
Because you cannot start the computer, you may need to create a bootable Windows installation media, and then do an auto repair, and if this does not help then you try to restore your computer to the previous date.
Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.
If you are using Windows 7 then the link provided below might help you to download and create installation media.
Download Windows 7 Disk Images (ISO files)
Method 2
Try to rebuild the BCD by using the Bootrec.exe tool.
To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:
Place the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
Press a key when you are prompted. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
Click repair your computer.
Click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.
Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.
See the following link for more information:
How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

Hope this information helps.

Original title: bad image Logonui.exe
I have laptop Dell XPS M1530. Last night when I tried to start the computer, it went through the movements until he got to the login screen. Rather than get the profile to connect to, I got the error message following "logonui.exe - bad image. C:\windows\winsxs\x86...\COMCTL32.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. "When I click ok on the error message and wait for an another error message appears" logon.scr bad image. " I tried to run the Startup Repair and restoration of the system without result. I cannot lose the files on the hard drive, but have run out of ideas and options on how to solve this problem. Someone at - he had this problem and managed to fix it? I've exhausted the System Support of Dell, as they have failed to: "format the drive and restore to original state." That is not an option right now.
I went into the Commpand prompt and delete files that have been raised as errors. When I rebooted, it came in fine. I got the files I needd for backup and then rebuilt the system.
