Error message: you are not a parent family safely after the implementation

Original title: PARENTAL CONTROL

I implemented a family safety account yesterday and added restrictions when my child could use his PC, but now when I try to MANAGE the PERMISSIONS in the parental controls, he said. YOU ARE NOT A PARENT IN FAMILY SAFETY.   I need this resolved as soon as POSSIBLE and have failed to get support.

Thanks for your help...

I found this... and I'll try... but that it has been published in 2012, so I'm not sure that it applies even.  I am so disappointed by the level of support that Microsoft offers!

When you rename the ID of the Parent by changing his address, you will need to uninstall and reinstall parental controls to use the new Parent code. By design, parental control allows only the ID of the Parent to be entered to the first broadcast.

To change the ID of the Parent of the family of security for Windows 7, Vista or XP:

First, uninstall:

1. Start Control Panel

2. click on programs

3. click on uninstall a program

4. click on Windows Live Essentials 2009 or Windows Live Essentials 2011

5. click on uninstall/change

6. click on remove the or more Windows Live programs

7. place a checkmark next to the parental control

8. click on uninstall

Family safety is removed.

Then reinstall:

To install the new parental controls, go to

http://get.live.com

Download Essentials and run the installer.

Family safety will be installed.

Once installed, run parental control and log with the ID of the new Parent.

You may need to add local users under new parent code.

I am the only user and the owner (73) of this computer and it tells me that I'm not a parent on family status.  I want to change some info account, but Microsoft is really... really... what makes it difficult.  until today they do not recognize my password even if I connect all the time with him on Skype and so I reset it by Microsoft; now, they don't think I have the status of safety.  What happens, do you think?

  • I can connect to the internet, but sometimes the message "You are not connected to internet", then after a second or two, it connects

Just bought new HP with Windows 8 desktop computer, and it connects to the internet through a wired connection.  However, sometimes when you try to connect, the message "you are not connected to a network rises, then it usually connects."  This message also may appear when trying to back up a new web page.

Disabled the antivrus, no change.  Plugged a laptop using the same modem and connections with no problems at all, so there seems to be something specific with this new desktop computer.

  • Why what I get a message "You are not connected to Internet" even after having to connect every time?

Why can't my computer not just automatically start when I turn it on and connect using my password, instead of having to go through a separate step to connect to Internet via VZ access? Most of my friends just click on IE or Firefox, then right away. Is there a way to stay constantly connected?

I gather from your question that you are using Verizon DSL with PPPOE connection (which requires a logon).  The usual way to automate this process is-
-If you are connected directly to a DSL modem or modem/router combination unit, create a profile in the Autologon feature.
-If you use a router connected to a DSL modem, configure the log on your router.

  • Error message: you are not allowed to access this resource network

I have 4 computers on a network peer-to-peer (1 x 7, 2xXP 1 x 98).  As of today, one of the XP machines will not display the network when I try to access it through "My Network Places".  He says I don't have permission, but when I serch for computers I can find and connect to all the others on the network.  Also all others can connect to the problem machine.  He worked for many years.  I can access the internet via the router and the other computer without problem.

How can I solve the problem?

I have a partial solution, but would still like to know what could cause the problem.  It worked:

    1. disable Windows Firewall

    2. connect the group to work, and then to a computer

    3 turn on the firewall

    4. use network resources

5 restart the computer and now computers are visible when I click on the name of working group without disabling the firewall.

I am trying to download the latest version of adobe flash player from their site. When I try to download it, it will tell me I have not sufficient permissions to do so and I am downloading to an administrative account, and it still does not work.

    Hi Antonlew,

    1. are you able to install/download other programs without any problem?

    2. did you of recent changes on the system?

    3. you receive the error message when download or install Flash player?

If you run the installation files, you can try using administrator privileges and check if that helps:

Right click on the program installation files and then click run as administrator.

    See the article:
