  • No hard drive installed? Yet, it starts in safe mode.

    I read through some of the forums, but none seem to hit my specific question. As I try to start my computer it tells me that there is no hard drive installed. It loads again clearly to the Welcome screen. If I get my password it will appear for a few seconds and the mouse arrow blue logo as it tries to load. It then only enters "sleep" mode I can't do anything but manully power down. I can load fine in safe mode with network. I did a restore but that she said has been successful, nothing changed. I did a scan of the disc, and he told me that everything was fine. But it will not run the disk check CrashFree he says that there is no disc. How can he be there, but not be there?... lol via safe mode I can access my c drive, it says it is active and works correctly. Please help, I am so confused as to what is happening. Thank you. (I have not the cd).

    If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

    And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

    Vista recovery media obtain and/or use the Partition Recovery Vista on your computer to the factory settings .

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

    They will tell you how to do this.

    Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, Acer, recovery disk/s etc).
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
    If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    Assuming that your laptop was manufactured after 2003, you can try the HP drive diagnostic tool, but it seems that if you have a more serious hardware problem: cable/connector from the hard drive is faulty or the on the motherboard disk controller has failed.
    You can see also solve the Start Up and No Boot problems checklist but that probably tells you nothing that you have not already tried.
  • How to get a product key, that I had a new hard drive installed in the computer shop and it seems that there is no key for windows 7
    Original title: window 7
    Hi can one tell me how to get a product key, that I had a new hard drive installed in the computer shop and it seems that there is no key for windows 7, I just brought Office 2016 and he did not finish the load down with the windows key 7.
    Because Windows 7 is in limited stock because Microsoft ended sales in October 2013, this created demand due to its rarity. This means the retail boxed copies request a bonus, while the OEM System Builder copies remain affordable.
    Full version (retail):
    -Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.
    -Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.
    -Expensive
    Upgrade version (detail):
    -Includes the rights of transfer to another computer.
    -require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.
    -Expensive, but less expensive full version
    OEM System Builder version:
    The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:
    -OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft
    -OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on
    -OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard
    -OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system
    There is nothing wrong to use it too, especially that all future versions of Windows will be full versions.
    You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.
    There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft. »)
  • (Redirected) Cannot boot from the HARD drive on dell n5010 with SSD and HARD drive installed
    I have my old dell n5010 (15R Inspiron) with SSD (Samsung EVO 840 120 G) installed on the main drive Bay and the HDD (Samsung HJJ 500 G) on the optical drive Bay.
    It is a typical way to add an SSD on such an old laptop (bought from dell.com.cn in 2011).
    My Windows 10 operating system has been installed on the SSD using Samsung Data Migration software, so the previous C drive was pointless. So I formatted and installed an operating system Ubuntu 14.04 on it, hoping the grub OSs double beginning located on the HARD disk.
    However, I find no the Dell bios boot option to boot from the HARD drive installed in my optical drive Bay. All the choices are 'Hard Drive', 'Network' and 'Diagnostic '.
    But I was definitely sure that my bios program has detected the SSD and HDD with information on the main menu of the bios.
    And the LED on the optical drive Bay was immediately once I pressed the Start button on my laptop.
    As a general rule, all things were right except for options of the bios boot.
    Is there a way I can boot from HDD (with installed Ubuntu) while remaining has my SSD on the main drive Bay? I don't want to swap their positions, because the SSD is super fast on the main drive Bay.
    I have alse won't migrate 10 Windows to the HARD drive and reinstall Ubuntu on the SSD, because I'd like my windows be loaded quickly.
    Someone at - it the same problem with me?
    Any suggestion is appreciated!
    I have an IMac with time machine and time capsule. If I buy a large external hard drive can back up all my Lightroom Info but also everything else to go to time machine, & that it saves on hard drive new, after he made a backup to time capsule?  This way, I would have two backups.
    Hi marinersr,
    I'm not sure the backup machine capsule/time, but according to me, that it backs up all data on your hard drive.
    Yes, you can back up the Lightroom catalog on the hard disk external.
    You can set the time of the backup under the catalog settings > backup > he would invite to the backup, when you exit Lightroom > click on select next to the location and specify the location as your new hard drive.
    If you want images of both original backup, you can configure to create a second copy of the images on your external drive during import.
  • Setup did not find any hard drives installed in my computer
    HI -.
    I own a laptop Presario X1015US and recently bought a new hard drive for her (Western Digital Scorpio Blue PATA 160 GB) but when I insert the operating system CD it goes through the entire process until it gets to a page where it says:
    Family Windows XP Setup
    Setup did not find any hard drives installed in your computer.
    Make sure that the hard disks are turned on and properly connectd to your computer, and that any hardware configuration of the drives is correct. This may involve a diagnosis provided by the manufacturer or the installer running.
    Setup cannot continue.  To quit Setup, press F3.
    I'm not sure of what I am doing wrong and hope someone can help me.  For example -.
    -J' checked the Bios and I do not see where the drive sits - have I missed something?
    -The drive I bought compatible for this model - electronic Fry told me that it is.
    Thank you
    If the bios does not see it, installing XP will ever either.
    Some older laptops have a problem with the largest hard disks (more), I return the drive and see if they have a 120 GB model.
