  The Toshiba driver page provides drivers XP for Tecra A6 PTA60E and Tecra A6 PTA61E.
  If you n t know which Tecra you check exactly please the label at the bottom of the unit.

• Error 633 modem or another device connection does not...

  OK, I tried literally everything to get my modem working again. He used to work some time ago... but since SP2 has been installed it is the first time that I used it (normally online via broadband network) and he refuses to work.

  There is no dial tone at all - the message immediately after the opening of port dialogue...

  Displays modem device manager is OK - no yellow question mark.

  Properties of the modem shows active sound and COM3. No conflicts.

  I tried so far the telephon.ini and tapiini.exe which has been proposed by microsoft to find that they do not exist on XP systems.

  I have uninstalled and installed the modem twice, as well as the software - the same error.

  I can still query the modem at all - same error.

  I recently installed the new software modem available on this site and it is listed as Toshiba Software Modem (driver provider is Agere). Even the program to set the country code reports an error - unable to open the port.

  Please - what on earth goes here - usually something solves a problem - again, I spent three days looking and nothing works. Microsoft has really screwed up to SP2?

  There is nothing in my system that uses a modem - recent software has been CutePDF printer, sony ericsson mobile phone image software that has been uninstalled because it did not work (I have not Infra red). Everything else has been there even where it worked.

  Please can anyone offer help - I'll reiterate that everything with the system reports as running OK.

  The problem has been that bad, I have installed the software.  You must go through a stop, taken modem, start and run the Setup program in that order.  It's all working now, thanks for the reply.

• Error Vista crcdisk.sys Tecra A4

  When the beta version of Vista came out several people had problems installing where start-ups would stop at the first reboot to "crcdisk'sys '.

  I followed the MS forums, but also here, but never found a solution.

  Has anyone installed Vista Beta on a Tecra A4 again? If so, what is the secret?

  Just downloaded and installed build 5536 and still no change... can't get through first boot and safe mode always stops to "crcdisk'sys '.

  Someone at - it suggestions to get around this please?

  I have create this post to share my experience of installing vista on a Tecra A4 (tecra a4 257 to be precise)

  to be brief, the first time that the installation of vista freeze, it is on the famous "crcdisk.sys" in safe mode
  ---> solution: reboot on the installation DVD and go to "repair my computer" then the command prompt to delete/rename \windows\system32\drivers\pcmcia.sys and \windows\system32\driverstore\filerepository\pcmci ablablabla

  But even after that, I'm not able to complete the installation because I uncounter the famous 'black screen of death' (more precise, after the first restart, Setup will "finish installation" and after a while, the screen goes white and my laptop freeze without HDD activity more)
  ---> solution: after remove/rename pcmcia.sys e.a., delete/rename all the files on your Texas instruments PCIxx21 because it is this f * ing material that make vista freezing!

  so I renamed all the files in the windows\system32\drivers folder named * 1394 * (for firewire controller that belongs to a TI PCIxx21) as well as in the \windows\system32\driverstore\filerepository\ and \windows\inf\ folder
  I have renamed in the same files all files named sd * (for the reader of card memory, another part of TI PCIxx21)

  After that installation is finished and I was able to see vista and aero for the first time (sniff...)

• Error of keyboard on Tecra M2

  Hello everyone, I have a problem with a keyboard in Tecra M2. Touchpad works fine, but the keyboard is almost without function. Trying to get into the Bios is not possible, just the esc button works.

  I can't press [F1] to check the BIOS. Can not connect. Any ideas? Some known issues?

  For me, this looks like a hardware failure.
  The fact is that it of not possible to solve this problem by yourself.
  I recommend asking the Toshiba service for assistance.

  I'm a Newby.
  My Toshiba Table M with recently installed Windows 7 series (it was fine with Vista) have a boot failure.

  The message is this:

  Windows did not start:
  File: \boot\memtest.exe
  status: 0xc000000e

  Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or damaged.
  I went to the BIOS and enabled the diagonstic tool. When I restart - it tells me memory is OK and the HARD drive is OK.

  Now it tells me to insert the Windows Setup disc - which I don't have yet.
  I created the backup of the registry and backup of the C: drive - but each of them in the D: drive - which is now useless.

  I would very much - if you could give me some solutions to this problem.

  By turning on the device, please press F8.

  Now, you should get an advanced boot menu.
  As far as I know there are some option like fix my computer.
  Check it out

  If this is not enough, then you should take a Windows 7 disc and should reinstall the OS.

  I use a Windows7 Home Premium 64 bit PC.
  When I am trying to connect to the internet via 3 g USB modem, I get error 633: Modem is in use or not properly configured.
  The software and drivers have been installed correctly.  I uninstalled and re installed several times without success. I tried the same thing in safe mode without success.

  Any help is appreciated.

  I suggest you to check if the modem is compatible with Windows 7.

  I would also recommend to connect the modem to a different computer and check if it detects there. If it does not work on another computer also, then the problem is with the modem and I would ask you to contact the manufacturer of the modem for any further assistance.

• Tecra S1: BSOD & reboot after installing SP2

  After installation of SP2 for Windows XP on three Tecra S1 of the computer crashes whenever the power cord is out of the machines. Then it restarts and restarts until the machine stops completely.

  The error ocures on three Tecra S1. It seems that there is a conflict with the pre-installed Windows XP Pro and the drivers Toshiba and SP2.

  Someone at - it an idea how to solve this very annoying problem?

  the SP2 blocking ActiveX Toshiba Management Console modules, so you must install the fixed version TMC v3.5.2.
  However, to avoid any problem, after installation of SP2 on Tecra S1, you need to update:
  -Battery BT and utility (only for machines with BT)
  Management - Toshiba console
  -Toshiba Hotkey utility
  Utilities - Toshiba
  Energy saving - Toshiba
  Toshiba - mobile extensions

• Satellite Pro M10 P - M 1.3 problems of modems

  I had frozen online when a dial with the modem internal. Cursor froze, programs froze and the task manager would not start icons were both glowing as if sending data modem. I finally pulled the cable modem (icond indicating always send data) and had to power down with the Start button.
  After what happened the recognition of tonality was intermittent and more freeze ups occurred. Finally after doing everything that can be made including replacement drivers, new dial-up connections that I was convinced that it was related software run with a full recovery. Unfortunately, this did not help and I'm starting to think that the modem card has been wiped out. I use Norton Internet Security and I have tried with this option disabled, but this made no difference.
  Sometimes the diagnoses in the Device Manager will read the modem and other times I get error 603 «modem already in use...» "other times I get error 000005aa, but Device Manager still has"no conflict message.
  I am now using a PCMCIA card and try the internal modem that sometimes connects and then goes into freeze mode or deletes the line from time to time. When I stop after trying the internal modem I get quite often the message 'TMEEJM_WND' not repsonding.
  Before you go in get another modem card can anyone suggest anything else. Thanks in advance.

  I think your assessment of the State of your internal modem is correct. As you have tried a complete reinstall of the recovery CD, then it must be the case that the modem is indeed broken.

  If the laptop is still within its warranty period then I suggest contacting a Service partner to fix it. If the warranty has expired so why not continue to use the PCMCIA card as a cheaper option.

• Cannot install Windows 98 on Tecra 540CDT

  I have an old 540CDT TECRA who worked very well until recently. Due to some problems, I need to reinstall Windows 98 SE (I believe it's 98 is installed, but it could have just 98), the installation stops with a message that the modem drivers are not compatible with windows 98 SE. I have tried new drivers on Toshibas home page, but cannot find not everything. What can I do?

  Have you used the Toshiba Recovery CD or an original cd of Microsoft windows?
  I found only the modem driver for Win95 on the European Toshiba driver page.

  On the Toshiba site we found a modem for Tecra 530CDT for Win98 driver
