Error recovery partition Windows 7 home Premiun.

I have a Compaq Presario CQ57 339WM I did a recovery partition on. After, I restarted the laptop and "BOOTMGR" is missing. Could someone instruct me on how to install the BOOTMGR in the boot sector, please? Thank you.

After turning on the laptop-everything computer as the first black screen begins to tap the F8 key to start in advanced boot to choose repair start pass system. Not that it can take up to 3 times before it is repaired.

I didt create a disk recovery for windows 7 Home premium and I lost the original and the recovery partition, but I have still the product key and the same laptop that was originally installed with windows 7 copy and now im turning my laptop with a fake copy, how to restore the original copy of windows 7?

    Hello

You have certainly reduced your options

The only legal Windows 7 download available is now Microsoft, as Microsoft has stopped DigitalRiver Windows 7 ISO downloads.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-recovery

But Microsoft only provides these downloads for Windows 7 keys to selling product at retail, not preinstalled OEM product keys (Dell, HP, etc.).

As you have licensed preinstalled OEM (Dell, HP, etc.), contact the manufacturer of your computer to order recovery media that they need to provide for a fee, if they still have them available.

Or you can also borrow the same exact retail edition DVD of Windows 7 and use your product key to reinstall.

    See you soon.

  • Windows error recovery. Windows could not start... _

My Dell laptop I have from 10th July indicates the following:

    Windows error recovery

Windows could not start.  A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

If windows files have been damaged or misconfigured, Startup Repair can help diagnose and fix the problem.  If the power was interrupted during startup, chose to start windows normall7

    Start the reboot system (recommended)

    Start Windows normally

The two options to return to the same screen.

I tried the menu under the F keys, but all options listed do not seem to do anything.  I talked to Dell who ran a diagnostic test on the portable equipment and everything was ok.  They wanted then £70 the issue above which I am unhappy that have not had the laptop for a year yet!

I would be very grateful if you could help!

    Hello mtb123,

    1. have you tried the steps suggested by Srinivas R in the previous post to make a startup on your computer repair using the Windows installation disc?

    2. you remember what changes you made to the computer before you start this error?

I suggest that you access the system recovery options using a Windows Vista installation disc and do a startup repair and if this fails, you can do a restore of the system from the Windows recovery environment.

You can see the previous post of Srinivas R to verify the information on the system restore.

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, type cmd in the start search box, right-click cmd.exe in the list programs and then click Run as administrator.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

  • Error recovery partition

I'm doing the HP recovery partition recovery for my ProBook s 4720 and 7 Home premium. It does not work well, I get two error dialog boxes:

"The data is invalid.: recovery partition index == bootPartition" and "the installed program cannot start. Click OK to turn off the computer. »

I got the laptop with 4 partitions on this point - score of 300 MB windows sytem, C: with system partitions and 2 HP opetating. As maximum authorized partitions were already defined, it was impossible to make my data partition D: so me I deleted the 300 MB partition and C: as active/boot. Then did my data partition.

Is this a problem, why recovery is not working? If it is impossible to fix, I erase all partitions of HP and expand rather my data partition, maintains broken useless recovery partition.

Thank you if you can give me some information with it.

    Hello

Good idea to save the swsetup folder

You can use the product key on the base of the laptop to activate your copy of windows, but with 2 provisions retail.

    1. the version of Windows that you are installing must match the version originally supplied with the laptop (IE if it came with Windows 7 Professional 32 bit, that's what needs to be installed.

    2. you will find that after installation, when you try to activate Windows over the internet, it will fail.  It is quite usual, all you need to do is use the 'phone method' described in the link below and it should be activated without any problems.

To restart the computer, the screen was divided into 6 sections with the same thing.  something like that...

After that I did the repair windows and the problem of the screen disappeared.

In safe mode, I tried Recover windows in a previous point but still the problem was not resolved. At the end of the repair of windows, I was proposed to recover to factory settings. Given that I didn't lose my data, I tried a few back or before checkpoints without success.

    Some problems more appeared as:

    error nvlddmks.sys

At the same time the screen problem reappeared. In fact it happened and disappeared.

Finally, I have restorted my system to factory settings, but it does not even start. Because the recovery of windows was not over I can't go in safe mode or in normal mode. Windows crash with BSoD error and nlvddmkm.sys.

What can I do about it?

The last thing I could think of was to reinstall windows on my computer. I forgot to say that I don't have the Windows Vista installation disc.

    Is there a hope?

How can I get the CD to my hp laptop facilities? I bought a Wal-Mart, but miss it included CD. I hope that if I can restore on my pc this will fix many of my problems.

Have you tried using the recovery of hard drive partition?  Number of computers sold today, including HP, will have a recovery partition.  The recovery partition will allow you to restore your system with the image, it came initially with without needing the CD/DVD.   On HP machines, you can access the recovery partition when you reboot your machine, and until the recovery screen appears, press the F11 key repeatedly.

More information and useful tips can be found on the HP website: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=18703&docname=c00608578.

    Hello paresh786,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

You will not be able to use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 Home Premium version. You will need Windows 7 Professional or Windows 7 Ultimate to use XP Mode.

If you are running Win 7 Home Premium, try VirtualBox (www.virtualbox.org) or other 3rd party virtualization programs and install a separate copy of Windows XP (family or professional edition) for this purpose.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite M305D-S4830: error recovery - Partition creation failed

    Computer: PC Toshiba laptop
    Model: Satellite M305D-S4830

Problem: Originally windows wouldn't start; so I decided I would try reformatting it to solve the problem.
First of all, I erased the hard disk; now, I'm trying to use the "TOSHIBA Recovery Wizard" provided with the laptop for reinstalling the operating system, but end up getting the following:

    "ERROR: 08 - 0 74-0000.
    Failed to create partition. »

p.s. I've tried formatting using the command prompt, but it says format failed after choosing a volume name.

p.s. #2 when I run the Startup Repair tool, I get the error that the volume is corrupt

I noticed there is a hidden partition called X: where there is a backup of the operating system out-of-box, but have no idea how I could use this backup to possibly restore windows...

    What should I do?

I think the problem is the partition on your HARD drive.
You said erase the hard drive, well, this might be the reason why the recovery is not working as it should.

In my opinion full HARD drive must be formatted again (all partitions must be removed and formatted too.).
Perhaps you could use an original disc of Microsoft (Win XP CD) to format the HARD drive and you can then use the Toshiba Recovery disk to recover the laptop again!

  • Error - NTLDR missing Windows XP Home computer does not start.

Original title: XP-based computer does not start.

XP Home does not start after I uninstalled a large file of Samsung mobile phone. I get a missing NTLDR error message and have had a System32 error as well, but there is no DOS prompt that would allow me to access anything whatsoever. Another problem is that I lost my installation CD. I initially bought this Dell PC nine over 6 years ago, so can provide identification details, if necessary program. Could someone tell me how I can make a recovery CD please? (No floppy drive not installed in the PC). To further complicate things (Yes, I know - I created many more problems that we all need), I have to keep my files on the hard disk, so cannot do a complete reformat, unless someone can tell how to save them somehow. My BACK skills could be summed up as "plodder inexperienced but determined!

The file might be missing or it could just be that XP can't find it if your file system has somehow got corrupted.

As the forums MS Answers does not prompt for any information system when a new question is asked, we know absolutely nothing about your system.

Not knowing the basic information a problem prolongs the frustration and the agony of these issues.

Provide information on your system, the better you can:

What is your system brand and model?

What is your Version of XP and the Service Pack?

Your system have IDE or SATA disks?

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

System32 error, you see, is what exactly?

Depends on a few factors, there could be another copy of the file NTLDR in other places on your system, but you have to start on something to find out whether there is or not.

After answering the above questions, I begin to make a CD from Recovery Console bootable XP by running a chkdsk/r, first on your HARD drive and then see what is left to do.

    Here's how:

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and don't forget (no support for XP not necessary).

This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD (do not install UniBlue or the Ask Toolbar - never!):

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.
