  I get the following error when trying to run a Planning Business Rules of EPMA production environment. The same rules of business work without any problem in UAT which is exactly in line with the production.

  Our customer wants to use the Essbase9.3.1 database in planning 9.3.1.
  Is it possible to use that one, no third-party tool is useful for her.

  I think what you're asking, is if you have an existing installation of Essbase database is possible to convert this database into a planning system?

  It is not quite as simple as that. You can extract the members/dimensions of an Essbase database and load the files to use with the architect of the EMP, Hyperion Application Link, or Oracle Data Integrator - that alone is not necessarily the best design for a planning system. For example, your design may require another dimension not in the original system.

  You should also design forms, business rules, etc.

  I suggest you look at bringing on a person to the project team that has implemented a planning system in the past.

  We use Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3. I wonder if if I put the essbase outline to use measurements typed, it will works with Hyperion Planning Smartlist.
  We have a requirement that our users want reports some members of accounts using smartlist. However, if they use
  Essbase recover or smartview, it arrive at a value, for example 1.2 instead of text, for example "approved", "rejected".
  How can I run a recovery to produce a report of Hyperion Planning that have value to one other than its Hyperion report use smartlist?

  Typed Essbase measures are separated from planning at the moment, I wouldn't recommend changing the properties in the outline.

  ^ ^ ^ There is no way to do it. You could perhaps set a flag the data, and then do a test for the but it will definitely compromise the performance of the code because of the restrictions around IF statements.

  To fly the planning of business rules is to severely limit the scope of the calculation of:
  (1) only to calculate the members that relate to a form, for example, do not calculate the salary information on the form of office supplies.
  (2) read the POV of the form and use it to limit the scope of FIX
  (3) use "the aggregation-centric" approach and combine only the parts of the hierarchy which are affected by a particular form.

  Pretty much everyone does 1 & 2. The third option seems even rarer that we shouldn't. I know not why it is not taught to each bootcamp schedule because it has the potential (there are limits to the performance improvement it may bring, but it may be dramatic) to completely heavy Planning apps work acceptably.

  I have a question regarding the planning of business rules (one night). (Version 11.1.2.0)
  
  I have a few business rules with which I associated data forms so that users can run in real time. They run in under a minute, which is pretty good. I used guests from the time of execution in my business rules and have selected the option 'Members of the use of the form' in planning and hid the guests so that the user should not have to enter the information.
  
  Now, I want to set the same rules of business to run from one day to the next day, just in case if the user forgets to run them by chance. Since I've used those organized times will prompt variables who drop out members of the form - can I plan yet somehow racing from one day to the next?
  
  Could someone please share the information on how to plan rules trade or if someone could share a link on what would be a help.

  Yes, it is possible to program, for business rules, you have the CmdLnLauncher utility and for Calc Manager you have the CalcMgrCmdLineLauncher utility.

  Open the file in a text editor.
  say your old server was called sourceserver and your target targetserver

  Do a find and replace tiny ServerName find:-replace sourceserver:-targetserver
  Do a find and replace uppercase ServerName find:-replace SOURCESERVER:-TARGETSERVER

  This means that the applications are the same name between the servers.

• EPMA planning application migration: no synchronization with the provisioning of users

  We are migrating Production applications to dev. We have a planning EPMA and Essbase application in both environments.
  We migrated artifacts in the file system in PROD (Shared services, EPMA, planning, Essbase) and Reporting. We have copied and pasted into the folder what in DEV.
  Then, we try to migrate objects in DEV file system applications. First of all we did successfully EPMA artifacts in the migration status report, and then we deployed the application in the planning without any error. (msg showing as synchronized deployment). After that we had shared services, it is not
  MSG for error report status of migration:

  I have the solution for this problem with the support of the Oracle.

  I have restored the database and migrated artifacts using LCM. a method is enough to make the migration of Planning (from Support of Oracle) applications

  We are about to load data into the planning and was curious to know if we can create contour and loads the data in planning using Rulefiles (I know that we can in Essbase and want to make sure the planning)

  You would use Essbase Studio to manage the planning, it really has nothing to do with the planning and studio for pure Essbase databases.

  The business removed from the calculation Manager rule is not available in the calculation Manager but still available in the list of planning application business rules.

  Any suggestion is appreciated to get it removed the application too.

  Note: EPMA, to deploy the application, but not safe for the classic.

  Are you sure you have deployed all the rules again Calc Manager planning then the rule is removed from the planning to remove from the Manager of Calc won't be enough.

• Error of the Hyperion select business rule planning task list

  Hi all

  I created an application of planning (11.1.2.3) with two planning types. I have lists of tasks for each of them.

  The problem occurs when I assign to a task, a business rule and this business rule belongs to the second type of plan, the selection list appears empty and when I go back and select the type of plan fist again, empty the list of continuous selection.

  Is there a bug in the planning (I guess)? Is there no work around for this problem?

  To-do lists are not specific to the Type of Plan.

  You assign objects to tasks, and they can be from anywhere in the same application.

  When you say the selection list what are you referring?  A command prompt that you have in your rule? Or when you try to assign your rule to the task?

  I've implemented on 11.1.2.3 without any problem.

  Have you done that you have deployed your calc rule manager?

  According to the designer of Calc Manager 11.1.2.3 Guide and my tests:
  -Planning of the directors may change the rules of Manager of calc deployed in their planning application

  -Planning interactive users can create their own Manager calc of the rules in their planning application

  But according to our governance IT, they are not able to do, especially in a production environment (and they were not able to do planning with HBR 11.1.1).

  Any idea or tip to disable the planning to the administrators and interactive users to create or modify rules Manager calc in their application?

  I don't think that there is a way to disable. If you look at the shortcut create a shortcut to a business rule, then it just gives you an option to run the rule even on different applications (rather that copy you in applications).
