  We work closely with Oracle Essbase spreadsheet Add-in Version 9.3 and we have some problems after the upgrade to Office 2013.

  I'm starting to wonder if I have same worksheet Essbase add-in installed with my installation and configuration of the EPM 11 system. When I open Excel (Office 2007 with the menu Ribbon format), there is a tab that says 'Hyperion', which has an option of data source Manager which allows to connect to three things: Oracle BI Server (which I can't actually connect to at the moment), Oracle Essbase (which will connect to the Essbase server where I can review all of the data from the sample applications as Sample.Basic from the example of the beverage company that came with the installation) and Oracle Hyperion Planning (which allows me to display my planning application data forms. My question is - all the documentation, and the book "Look smarter than you are with Essbase, speaks an Essbase menu added to Excel using the spreadsheet Add-in, but I have not especially Essbase menu. Mine says Hyperion on it, and some of these menu options are slightly different from those explained in the guides. Should I still the right product? I think I can just watch Essbase database through Smart View? Does anyone know the directory to the folder where the Add-in Essbase spreadsheet?

  It seems to me that using Smart View is Oracle move as an excel add-in and that's what will grow in the future.
  The classic excel addin is still available for V11 but will not continue to develop. In the installation of the EMP, he reports to the excel customer option.

  If you have installed it will be under \Hyperion\products\Essbase\EssbaseClient

  If you do not have the installed files in Excel 2007, go to "excel options" > "Add-ins" > "manage Excel Add-ins" > go

  I learn VB Script in MS Excel. I need documentation (reading material) on how to use the ESSEXCLN. XLL as EssVconnect, EssVRetrieve, EssVCalculate library functions, etc...

  If you install the excel add-in, and then it includes help on functions, after installing it is accessible from the excel Help menu, it's the title of essbase help > Essbase spreadsheet toolkit > Visual Basic for Applications functions.
  Or you can open the file directory from the Directory installation bin, the file is:-essexcel.hlp

• Excel Addin Essbase support after 11.1.2.4

  I support about 100 Essbase users, who use the add-in to Excel existing (a mixture of 11.1.1.3 and 11.1.2.2).  Several years ago the access administration and security for our Essbase server has been moved to a team specialized in India, so I am now concerned especially with the support/building variious excel financial models that are built into Essbase.  Team India COMPUTING tells me that our servers will be upgraded to version 11.1.2.4 soon, so I need to get users to SmartView. HE has said that after the upgrade, "Add - in Essbase Excel is no longer supported".

  Anyone could use the plug-in inherited after the server upgrade to 11.1.2.4?  Or the add-in will simply stop working?  My understanding is "unsupported" may be different from "will not work".

  I installed SmartView 11.1.2.5.410 (Build 015) on my PC and see some advantages to the new add-in.  However, our group has 2 other large systems updates that are forced to we that will significantly affect our feature from day to day, and I'm not sure that some of them can run a 3rd significant change to their routine

  It still works with 11.1.2.4 but I can't speak for all features or if it can hurt, I would not recommend as it is not a supported configuration and Smart View is the route chosen for Oracle.

• Version 11 API to Excel - Version 7 upgrade

  We use a tool developed in-house for many years and who uses the API Essbase version 7 to send and receive data between Excel and Essbase spreadsheet forms. We need to start looking to upgrade our environments Essbase in version 11.  However, I heard that the API in version 11 does not exist or is not compatible with code written with version 7 API.  Do you know if there is any workaround to allow version 7 API code works under version 11?

  Using the API or the macros Toolkit? If the Toolbox for macros, then many of them have been converted to Smart View.

  If you still want to use the add-in (which is not delivered by version11.1.2.3), then you must update the. BOTTOM of the file and install the new client runtime on user computers. There was very little change in the api over the years with the exception of a few new features.

  You should really look at the Smart View Toolbox as they add a lot of the old API calls him.

• Need for a function in Excel that will retrieve all members of specific dim

  Hi all
  We are a condition where the user needs to see all members in the menu dropdown in an excel file. Also, the report is a dynamic where the meta data are updated daily. To do this, we want to update metadata on a daily basis as it is reflected also in the drop-down list. Please let us know if there are all the specific features we can incorporate as part of our macro that will provide all members of the specific dimension in a single column. Note that we do not want the user to select anything manually using member selection that everything must be hard-coded.

  I am assuming that you are using the Excel Add-In; is that correct?

  I did this in two ways:

  First, use a hidden form and function Spreadsheet Toolkit (i.e. EssVZoomIn) to drill down. You may need to use EssVSetSheetOption to make sure that the appropriate fuse are selected.

  Second (more complicated), functions to use the VB API to write a program to recursively process the dimension and retrieve all members.

  Furthermore, on the question of if the user must interact - unless you go to hardcode a password for Essbase in your code, you may need to the user open a session at some point in the process.

  I have a spreadsheet that I recovered using Smart View 11.1.1.3 against Essbase 11.1.1.3.

  When I update this spreadsheet against using Smart View 11.1.2.5.215 11.1.2.3.500 Essbase spreadsheet seems to be remove the cells whose content is not a member in the database.

  
  

  Rest of the worksheet correctly refreshes and I receive the correct data in the worksheet by using the last smart view, but I need to have the content which is withdrawn.

  No one knows the date that Oracle plans to stop supporting Essbase Spreadsheet Add-in?
  We are working to get all of our users to switch to SmartView and knowing this time allows for their displacement.

  Oracle to say 11.1.2.x (and all 11.1.2.x to date releases include the Add-In) will appreciate the 'First' level until April 2015 (http://www.oracle.com/us/support/library/lifetime-support-middleware-069163.pdf) support so I don't think there's a rush to move imposed by only support policy.

  I through the installation guide to install 11.1.2.1 & found that, in the assemblies required for the services of the Foundation, it is an assembly called "Upgrade WebLogic jar file" mentioned in the tutorial. When I extracted the Foundation

  It is mandatory and yes the extract in the same folder. While they improve the documentation available in this version, they have missed a fairly heavy reliance in the form of the Weblogic software.

• 9.3.1: forms of data greyed out in most combinations of POV

  Data forms that we need to use are grayed out. There is a selection bit POV which is still usable, which means that we can enter data in them. However, we do not know how to find the POV that work and do not want to transfer data all about copy rather than enter a form with the POV right in the first place. So my question is: what on earth could prevent access? I have full admin rights at all, is not a configuration issue as far as I know.

  Because some of the work of the POV, I always have this feeling that dimensional security is somehow related to your problem. Here's how I would rule out it. Create a model in native Essbase spreadsheet add-in that is identical to one of your forms. Choose members who are causing the form to be gray. Make sure that the exact same members used in the form are used in the model. Select styles to show you where you have write access and retrieve your data. Of course to use the same user ID in the planning and the snap-snap-in spreadsheet.

  I was in a similar situation a couple of times. Looking for security, and you swear the shape should be editable, but it is not. Then, I use this method and realize that this is a problem of dimensional security after all. Maybe it's not the case for you, but at least this method can help to eliminate one of the possibilities. You will need to make sure that safety is first refreshed in the cube.
