You can't run both at the same time... Defender is the "system program" essential safety and security essential is to have all the features of the Defender + additional functions... when installing essentials, the Defender is turned off by default...

So far, she can not play Wolfenstein, legend hand of God or Loki (at least two of them are on the list of compatibility with Win 7) and is naturally upset. More simple games such as Nancy Drew work perfectly.

I tried the following with Wolfenstein (2009, Games for Windows):

    -Reinstall the game
    -patch (1.11)
-Update driver NVidia (GeForce 6150SE nForce 430)
    -install NVidia Phsyx 9.09.x

-updated some driver 'driver warning' (Targes? some kind of protection against copying.)
-The icon of the program: compatibility - run as administrator, disable the composition of the bureau, disable the scaling on high DPI, disable visual themes

I tried to enter the game after each change, but it is still too shifted to run (obtained with respect to the gameplay, but just as bad as the opening menu). Cutscenes are very good. I try next?

Hello, to my knowledge there no problem with Wolfenstein and 64-bit Windows.  As he described as Games for Windows it should be tested on 64-bit.  However, there is a patch available for it, then you want to try.

  • MS customer protection

I got a msg of error at the beginning of the installation of Windows Defender, telling me to remove 'The MS Customer Protection' on or off.  I have quoted me several other discussions in this Forum dealing with this very issue.  One mentioned that the MS Security Essentials have installed will make this error msg.  Another mentioned MSSE and installed Defender.  So, I'm confused.  Are "Essential" and "Defender" examined in double (and incompatible), and you will avoid them both on the same computer running?

Windows Defender contains the engine for Microsoft's Anti-Spyware and Microsoft Security Essentials Microsoft Anti-Spyware and anti-Virus Microsoft engine. With MSE, it is enough because if you have MSE, you already have Windows Defeneder engine inside and this would cause a conflict if you run MSE and the Defender.

My recommendation is to run the MSE only, you don't need Windows Defender.

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and works very well)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with everything I threw at them.
Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven very reliable and compatible.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except away from Standard, Web and network is working.

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(Sometimes you have to temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom right of IE)

Avast - stop home - free - all shields you do no need except leave Standard, Web and network running.
(Double-click the blue icon - details look OK. - upper left Shields - those that you do not cancel).
    http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - Home - small, fast, exceptional CLOUD free protection, working with other security programs. It comes
a scan only, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something to come back here or use Google to see how to remove.

    PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever suspect malware, and that would be unusual with
Avast and Prevx running except a low occasional (not much), updated cookie and then run it as
a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.

In my opinion, the best combination is eSet NOD32 and MalwareBytes
AntiMalware. If they don't have those, you have not the best
    security settings.

Tell us what anti-virus and anti-spyware software that you are running.

    > How to check if Windows Defender works?

Several anti-virus programs (Microsoft Security Essentials, for)
example) disable Defender because they do the same thing. If you are running
Microsoft Security Essentials, Defender is not running.

    > Is better than MS Security Essentials Windows Defender?

No, it's worse. Microsoft Security Essentials is essentially Defender

  • Windows Defender does not illuminate. Said he did not need with MS security essential

Asked to click on the link to activate MS Windows Defender. By clicking on the link does nothing. It told me that Windows Defender is not necessary when MS Security Essentials is installed and has probably been disabled. Should I remove Windows Defender and use only Security Essentials. Is this correct?

    Hello:

It is true that you no longer need Windows Defender after installing MSE.

However, you do not have to uninstall it. It has in fact been disabled. You can delete all of your shortcuts, if you wish.

Is no longer, you try to run Windows Defender, that's why I recommend you delete your desktop shortcuts and or the menu of the program. Just pretend it isn't there. This isn't hurt anything by remaining installed.

  • Essentially of c80003fa error / update no. / no MS Software Install possible 7 Pro x 64 bought & installed today $180! / Defender works not

    Hello

I'm from Germany - but I have not received a response to my problem here at all.
I bought a copy of Windows 7 Pro today, running x 64, installed today & had to erase my XP Pro x 64
version to do. It cost me$ 180! and its giving me all sorts of problems.

First I did as directed, a complete new installation on my new computer built 3 weeks ago
zero using premium parts to halfway "nine".

    8 GB OCZ DDR3-1333 RAM
    ASUS Crosshair III Formula MB
    2 x WD VelociRaptor HDs (Raid 0)

After installing the operating system and having to enter the key to product twice, he was finally activated
and began the download of updates. Download and then abandoned and gave me a c80003fa
error. Try again a little later, he showed 11 updates, acknowledged the download/install and it
abandoned gives me an c8E5E0442 error. Tried to use the resolution of issue online - returned
an error message cannot run the Problemresolve service. So, I tried looking for update
even once - he showed me the green check mark - computer is up2date. UM, so I thought it was
downloaded and installed the updates. So I checked the updates installed - showed that a
white screen and the OK"" button. So I thought that allows the restart & next to the stop"" button.
He showed the yellow symbol, having installed updates. Then I hit the close button, and
reading displays 'goodbye' 'Installer 1 of 3 updates' - but apparently, he was
hung himself up - waited 20 minutes - nothing's happened yet to 1 of 3 updates, then I hit the
selector. Reset. Since the c80003fa all the time. Cant manually install updates,
can not I install 'MS Security Essentials', or 'any other MS Software' Services.
Windows Defender does not install and I can't activate this service. Behavior
saeemed for me as he treated me like a pirate software, so I did the WGA tool,.
all - no help. Its seems locked. If I press F8 at startup to the top, and then select "load the drivers without.
Authentication "at least my grafics card shows a bird's-eye view. I got the c8E5E0442

If yes how can I uninstall Windows Defender from my computer because it does not show in the control panel

    Hello

MSE disables by default the Defender

and no you can not uninstall then reinstall the Defender

It is part of the vista operating system

read this information on the Defender:

    ·                         If you use microsoft security essentials avg avira mcafee norton etc they disable the vista version of windows defender by default

the basics of Microsoft security has its own version of windows defender

and other anti-virus programs use their own particular type of application to scan for spyware and malware

It of nothing to worry and is the default action, which is designed for them to do

and if you need to change startup programs read this information on the other methods of doing it without using defender

    using msconfig read this tutorial;

Here's how to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista to disable some unnecessary programs that load automatically at startup

  • Kaspersky and Windows Defender AKA Microsoft Security Essentials

As Kaspersky comes with new computers, it neutralizes or has any kind of problem with Windows Defender?

As we know 2 Antivirus somehow (disabled or not properly uninstalled) in a computer is a BIG no-no, how you handle this?

    Hello

It is not recommended to use two Antivirus at the same time. You can use Kaspersky or Microsoft Security Essential. Windows Defender is the defense against software spyware and other unwanted software. If Anti Virus is active and working then he will take over from Windows Defender. The things most important do not use two antivirus at the same time.
