ESX host keep disconnecting

I installed Workstation 7 on my laptop and then I installed ESX4 and I installed Win 2008 Server DC and XP as a client, it is a small network within the workstation 7, I installed vcenter on xp. I added host esx to vcenter, but very often disconnected ESX I got an error to the vSphere client "host not responding not not in red. the resolution of all the names are very well each other, each machine can ping IP as hostname.  no firewall, by default, all ports are

Also I can not activate service status and material vcenter vCenter

All ESX hosts are in default, that I don't have any care add in all plug-ins are by default taken into

I am running vSphere client on win 7, which is my laptop machine and host for workstation 7

Please see attached screenshot of vcenter client and these two ESX host event log

No idea

Thank you

It is either a problem with the network configuration or there is a firewall blocking some ports.

  • ESX host is disconnected

    Hello

I have a new build vSphere environment. It's vSphere Essentials Plus 4.1. If I connect to the host ESXi directly using the VIC, everything works fine. If I connect to the vC, the host is disconnected when I connect. I have the plug, but less than a minute, it is disconnected again. I've restarted the management on the ESXi host agent restarted vC and then restarted the ESXi host. The problem persists. I don't see anything useful in the newspapers. Any ideas?

The host disconnects at approximately 11:33:20 or 21.

  • Disconnected ESX host cannot add to the CR

It started with me being unable to power on a virtual machine that I created because of "Insufficient resources to meet the level of failover configured for HA" which is great because that's how to configure HA.  I tried to reconfigure the AP to the host by double-clicking on the host and select this option.  Once I did that it failed about 30% with "an error has occurred while setting up the HA Agent on the host" and the networking page disappeared from the configuration tab similar to what a lot of people reported during the upgrade, I think an earlier version.  This is not the case, I did not update anything.  Then I restarted service service mgmt-vmware restart and the ESX host disconnected from the VC altogether.  I can't use the VI client to connect to the host in question, but I am connected via the service console. All VM and the host not to requests ping and everything works. I've disabled HA and DRS and tried to add new ESX host that has not worked.

Any help is appreciated.  Thank you.

I found this article that has the same symptoms as you.

  • Disconnection of the VCenter ESX host

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.  I have an installation of VMWare VCenter and 4.1 ESX servers.  Periodically, one of my ESX hosts will lose just login to the VCenter server and I need to re-add.  The host still pings, does not actually lose network connectivity or I receive an alert.  I've been searching newspapers with no luck yet.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Mobile to a new server vCenter ESX host

    Hello.

For several reasons (including the old server vCenter 2003 x 86) I would like to move our ESX host to a new server vCenter (version 4.1 under Windows 2008 R2). Our ESX environment using HA/DRS and resource pools.

Is it possible to move the hosts to the new server without VM downtime?

I think disabling HA/DRS and then disconnect the old vCenter servers, then adding them to the new. That would be possible, or is there a better way?

And second, that things are lost that kind of operation? Data of performance and resources with Betclic, another?

    / Christian

    Hey there,

    The procedure is very simple:

    -Disable HA host monitoring

    -Disconnect the old vCenter host

    -Remove old vCenter host

-Add the host to the new vCenter Server

-You will be weather you are prompted to add all of the resources of the host with Betclic under a live of... the list resources or put all your VMS in pool root of the pole. Select them grafted in... so you can keep your resource pools. You can move the autour pools in the hierarchy on the new vCenter.

-After you have moved all of your hosts, you can activate HA host followed once again and check that the DRS has the settings you want.

You lose well obviously all performance data, but you can bring your pools of resources for the new vCenter.

  • Delete an ESX host in a cluster...

  • HO to import a virtual machine in esx host

    Hi all,

I have a cluster of small esx (2host clustered in a datacenter) manged by a machine virtual vcenter. Now, I installed an esx on a small host outside the cluster, do some test activities that must be totally separate from my cluster of production.

Before you perform the test esx host, I created some virtual machines in the production cluster. Now I want to import into my test esx host without have to reinstall them. Can I do this? the only way to achieve that I thought is to add my existing test in my data center host, leaving outside the cluster. then move my vms and remove it then, to manage alone.

Is this possible without any risk to my cluster of production? is there any other solutions?

    Thank you very much

    Paolo

Yes, but you cannot connect a free version, you need a license.

To not change your existing cluster, simply add the host in the data center (so it's outside the cluster).

When you are finished, just disconnect and remove the unused host.

  • The best way to solve this problem (internal vCenter, ESX host external)

The issue is that we have our virtual Center and our production ESX hosts on our internal network. We have another site of emergency in a remote network, but welcomed a public address with a firewall in front of her.  When I add the host of my vCenter she adds in fact very well and works for 1 minute, then disconnects. This is because the heartbeat may not respond to the virtual Center.  The emergency server will be 3 VMS host, 1 e-mail box, 1 website and 1 backup domain controller.  I only know the basics of networking, so I don't know what would be the best idea of tests.

I will apply to network engineers after that I know that would work well.

I should create a nat device for the server vCenter and which will resolve the heart beat question

I should have a set up reverse proxy, then change the esx host and change the internal address of the vCenter to the public address with proxy reverse?

Should I make the address pool which esx host has (about 10 external and public addresses) available to route between our internal VLAN?

Y at - it a sugguestion different with a better description would you recommend to solve this problem and better my future goals with the 3 virtual machines, that I intend to host on this server.

    Any advice is welcome.

    Thank you

Is it possible to Site 2 Site VPN? If Yes, then it would be much less complicated. Put ESX in DMZ with public IPs is not a good idea in terms of security.

  • Use of DNS by ESX host

I'm curious to know how important dns entries using host esx (DNS configuration & Routing tabs) as we change all of our dns servers. Do I need to reboot the ESX host, if I change the ip or is the service good enough restart or simliar control network? All the vm have dns entries, so I'm not sure what the guests need even references to. It's on Vsphere 4.

    Thank you

    Stuart

If you run the only stand hosts, DNS is not important. However, if you run the hosts in a vCenter environment you need to make sure that the DNS resolution works. Otherwise, you will experience issues with host disconnection of the vCenter and HA no longer works.

The DNS entries can be changed on the fly, which means that you can enter the new DNS servers in addition to those current and once the new DNS servers are in place, remove the old entries.

  • Disconecta VirtualCenter ESX host

    OLA pessoal

    Estou com o seguinte problema:

Quando CFFO don't logon no virtualcenter um back esx host disconecta, mesmo EU tent connect again, em ideal jclup ele novo disconecta. Não fiz nenhuma atualizacao, alteracao, etc.

Vasculhando na internet achei essa pagina that explica but or less:

    http://www.virtualizationteam.com/virtualization-VMware/VMware-VI3-virtualization-VMware/ESX-host-disconnect-from-VirtualCenter-or-vCenter-server.html

Ainda não executar os procedimentos I tried. Antes, estou enviando para saber is alguem ja passou por algo parecido e its resolver.

    Obrigado.

SIM, na truth ate that e 'comum"acontecer isso, e o reboot usually da gerencia resolver, mas No caso ESX4 (console sem) seria o services.sh reboot.

Console com ja na versão 4, o comando seria o mesmo ESX3.5

    Service mgmt-vmware restart e service vmware-vpxa restart.

O important e o problema esta resolvido, aqui estamos needing
