ESX, Vmware version compatibility...

Hello, following an incident in June in our virtualized architecture and because of which we have lost all our VM, we have to rebuild all our architecture.

Can validate me that the compatible of are the following versions:

VMware Virtual Center 2.5.0 Build 119598

ESX 3.5.0 Build 169697 U4

Thanks in advance

Frédéric

Hello

It would be better to have vCenter server build 147658 with ESX 3.5 U4.

These are the two versions that go hand in hand (U4 both).

  • DL380 G3 ESX 3i Version 3.5.0 network drivers

I am very new to VMWare and having a problem setting up of my first installation of comments.

I have a DL380 G3 with ESX 3i Version 3.5.0 installed.  In VMware Infrastructure Client, I can see the following network card:

    NC7781 Gigabit (PCI - X, 10,100,1000-T) server adapter

My first guest OS is Server 2008 Standard (32-bit).

In the comments, I can't get a driver installed.

    That's what I tried:

Drivers HP.  I am told that the intelligent installation is not supported in a virtual machine.  So I extracted the files and tried to install.  I am told that the drivers are incorrect.

Broadcom drivers.  I can get windows install these, but same problem, drivers are incorrect, and they do not start.

I am sure that the hardware is supported and is on the compatibility list.

    Help, please!

    Thank you.

    Hi Robrandon,

    Welcome to the forums.

Never try to use a physical device driver in a virtual machine. Check that your virtual machine is configured with the information in the appropriate operating system and has a virtual NIC attached. Then install VMware tools. The network card must be running in your comments.

    Good luck.

  • VMware ESX Server, version 3.5.0 64607 | Assessment - Vmotion?

    Hello world

I'm just checking on my server VMware ESX vmotion, 3.5.0 64607 copy evaluation, but when I go to the configuration of virtual Center and then tab features licensed Add-ons are grayed out and VMotion is listed as not used.  I am able to request access to this feature somehow?  I need to download the evaluation version of the enterprise?

    Thank you.

.. .and to add a little more to what said KjB, when configuring your VMkernel port, make sure that you check the box that says 'enable vmotion '.

CUCM and UCCX both will be on VMware.

Someone let me know what CUCM 9.x supports UCCX 8.5.1base.

  • No physical network is running 5.5 ESX VMware 7

    Dear all,

I am trying to run ESX Server 5.5 on VMware Workstation 7 and following fervent error, please help...

    Cybermate

To run ESXi on VMware Workstation 5.5, you need to VMware Workstation version 9 or higher.

VMware KB: Support for ESXi/ESX implementation as a nested virtualization solution

  • Detect the host ESX (redux) version

    Hello

We use a script that automatically installs the VM tools on our VMS invited when the OS is installed. We are now mixing our ESX hosting environment so we also well ESX3.5 and ESXi4.0 hosts. Each of these hosts require versions of VM Tool on their customers. I need a way to determine which version of tools to install based on the version of ESX VM client runs on.

I've seen other threads on this and suggested using the date of the BIOS, but I'm not real keen on this approach.

What I found in our environment is the "Device Instance path" or "The device Instance ID" of different NIC appear compatible subprovider IDs that begin with \3 when it is hosted on ESX3.5 and \4 or \FF when it is hosted on ESX 4.0

    i.e.

    ESX 3.5 hosted vm - NIC device Instance path = PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_100F & SUBSYS_075015AD & REV_01\3 & 2B8E0B4B & 0 & 88

    ESXi 4.0hosted vm - NIC device Instance path = PCI VEN_8086 & DEV_100F & SUBSYS_075015AD & REV_01\4 & B70F118 & 0 & 0088

Note the key differentiating field is immediately after the second "\".

Anyone have any ideas if this logic will hold up over time?

    Hello

I wouldn't count on that, but if it works now, go ahead. It may not be the same as we go along.

However it is a pretty good test 'red pill '. The virtual hardware is very revealing and it's trivially easy to determine the version of ESX, the virtual machine is hosted using red pill techniques.

  • English CC only version: compatibility issues with Windows 7 in Italian?

Hello. When I try to buy the creative cloud all-apps included (taking advantage of the special offer), I wonder if I want the version of all languages or English only. Given that the latter is cheaper and I use Adobe software in English in any case, I would ask: would there be compatibility issues with my Windows 7 system, which is in Italian? Is there one difference other than the language? Thank you

    Francesco

    Resolved:

I spoke with customer assistance, there is no problem of compatibility with the language of the operating system.

    Thank you, bye

  • Operation of vmware versions for download?

    Hello

I have a question that no one can answer me.

I'm partner of VMware and have a license for VMware Enterprise Plus 5. After downloading, I see all versions, but when I choose the company it will download the Standard version.

Another colleague, when you download, received the essentials version.

Looking for a blog, I found the information on the list of the 'order features' have HA, DRS, FT, etc.. It's because my version is the company. But my esxi is still in trial mode and displays all the resources.

If I want to use the Enterprise version, I need to lower the ISO of the enterprise version?

    Thank you.

  • App version compatibility issue

    https://creative.Adobe.com/addons/products/12362#.VbYzXfmqpBc

This is my 2nd element approved here and I see that it shows the compatibility of the versions app incorrectly. In fact, it should be CS6 - CC (2015), not CC - CC (2015).

Extension Manager CS6 does not support content non - ZXP such as ZIP files. The CC extensions Manager began to support non - ZXP content. Therefore, the criteria of compatibility is exact, starting with CC and upward.

  • Requires ESX VMware view?

    Hey guys,.

This may be a very stupid question, but do you need ESX(I) to run VMware View?
I guess you need to create a cluster of some sort to host virtual offices and
I wonder if ESX (i) comes into play at all. Try to determine the future needs of license here.

    See you soon

Yes, VMware view must either ESX or ESX (i) to install and also a Virtual Center to be configured and cluster to build with the ESX hosts, added to the cluster.

With regard to the requirement for Vmware View 4.5 Lincense

VMware View is always available in editions company and first and can be purchased as a package or as an add-on for those who have existing vSphere licenses to a separate purchase (which is not part of a set of view). With view 4.5, customers have a way to upgrade available to view Enterprise and View first modules to complete sets. Key updates include:

    • See Business Starter Kit and View Prime Starter Kit now includes VMware vCenter Standard for desktop computers (updated VMware vCenter Foundation for desktop computers).
    • View first beams, View first add-ons and View first upgrades include now the two new components introduced with view 4.5: vShield Endpoint and View Client with Local Mode(formerly known as Offline Desktop)

You can get more information about the licenses and prices here
