  Once you have taken of / found your license free key just use the console vsphere and go to configuration | license and enter the key.

  Yes, you can change any time, licenses you have is only the functionality.

  If you run virtual Center and you have a rich license feature and decided to change for free, save a single license, you could end up losing the functionality and the ability to power on if some vm of the vcpu exceed your new license mode.

  But tehcnically licenses you can change anytime, you could even remove a license and return to eval for 60 days.

  The data store will not be a problem, but the upgrade of equipment would be. If you do not convert to version 7 of material, you should be fine.

• 5.1 ESXi host is showing that does not

  Hi all

  We are to vCenter 5.5 with Environment 5.1 ESXi hosts. On one of our ESXi hosts, we sometimes get to see 5.1 ESXi, (build 799733) host is not responding and the virtual machines on this subject are displayed as status disconnected at the end of their names.

  When this happens, we are able to ping on the ESXi host and virtual machines are also able to ping / react to what is good, but he continues to be on different hosts at different times, all what I do when this occurs is to try to reconnect on the ESXi host and it connects fine and machines virtual hosting on she will return to the State normal and everything will be normal on this host. I want to understand why this is happening at different times and on different hosts of ESXi and ensure that this should not happen again in the future or find the before root cause is even worse.

  so, could someone please look at this and let me know where to start troubleshooting this to find the root cause.

  We have two Dell 2950 III 2 running ESXi 3.5 U4 connected to two 2 APC switched PDU which is in turn connected to a 8 KVA APC UPS.  I followed the guide of William Lam using VIMA to stop the virtual machines and hosts http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-9531 and discovered that it won't work with U4 http://communities.vmware.com/message/1213115#1213115

  My new plan is to install APC PCNS on virtual machines (7 on each host for a total of 14) so that the inverter can stop them gracefully in case of power failure.  The next step is to close the ESXi.  The RCLI can be used to stop the ESXi host?  It comes to the RCLI does not not for virtual machines with the free version or is - everything that concerns the RCLI, which no longer works?  The alternative would be to have one of the virtual machines, perhaps the same machine VIMA, run a script to close the outlets on the PDU which hosts are connected to.  I prefer the first option, but if it is not possible on the free version then it would be obligatory.  I hope that someone else has solved this problem before and can provide feedback.  Thanks for any help.

  As stated in the thread you referenced, no vCLI/RCLI command will work requiring more read-only permissions, a stop at the host ESX (i) is considered to be a write operations and will not work. You can unlock the busybox does not support console and use SSH key pairs to initiate a stop, but you won't be able to do so via any vCLI or all VMware API through the read-only mode.

  I just installed ESXi 3.5 U4 on a Dell and a HP Server.  The two are running in evaluation mode and I try to enter the serial number, I got when I signed up for the free ESXi download, but I get an error that says "downloaded content license was not valid" when I select the serial number under license source in the VI client and enter the serial number provided.  I just created a new account vmware.com and re-recorded in order to obtain a different serial number, but it gives the same error.  The Web page that gives me the serial number indicates that it should work for ESXi 3.5 U2 or later version.  What gives?

  Back to your account on vmware.  Go to 'find serial number '.  Change the type of license to eval and see what series it lists.  Try it and make sure it matches what you had.

  iMessage is free as long as the person who deals with this issue is using WiFi.  That's all we can say in general.

  you are in the same situation, as if I were.

  1: updates are only free from XP PRO to Vista Business or XP MCE, Vista Home Premium.
  2: updates XP Home cost. Even from XP Home to Vista Home Basic, you will need to pay a lot.

  I ordered as you want to make Vista Home Premium for 98, xx. Right now I'm happy that I could cancel the order. I really advice you not to order through Moduslink. The company was founded just for the upgrade. You can hardly reach them by e-mail. The only thing that works is letter or by fax.
