  I wonder if the ESXi Offline HP bundles are compatible downwards.

  If we install one can of ESXi 4.1 (no oder U1 U2) fees install us hp - esxi4.1uX - bundle - 1.2 - 25.zip on these or should stay us on the old version 1. 0 b?

  In the download area under Extensions HP says: Supports ESXi 4.1 U2. So she also does support older versions of ESXi4.1?

  I agree with Ollfried.

  In addition to the boot in offline mode, you must install the * RECOMMENDED * NMI Sourcing Driver for VMware ESX/ESXi 4.1 HP although it is marked as "RECOMMENDED", it is a requirement for the guests of HP if you don't want to risk anything.

  When you specify '-password ", you must provide the password, otherwise leave it outside, and you will be prompted.

  If you specify the use of ESXi to-be-release to date - server, then you need not the option - vihost.

  The option - bundle specifies the beam on the client computer that you want to install on the server remote esxi.  The path/sdk/webService is annexed by the cli, which is the actual path you speak on the host ESXi itself.

• Error HP ESXi update offline Bundle for VMware ESXi 4.1

  Whenever I try to update my server ESXi 4.1 with the bundle HP ESXi for ESXi4.1, I get the errors below. I stop the virtual machine and put the host in Maintenance Mode. I use this for a x 64 Bit of Windows 7 machine any help will be appreciated.

• copy the vm-support journal ESXi host bundle

  Can anyone suggest a way for me to make the beam of vm-support of an ESXi 4.0 Update 3 host? We don't allow SSH on our hosts for SCP and Veeam FastSCP came out. I tried several PowerCLI remote CLI commands and vMA and nothing seem to work. Any suggestions?

  We create the bundle in unsupported mode and it seems to store the .tgz under/var/usr file but I do not see the file when I navigate to the folder on the vMA. I guess it is because another user (root) creates the beam and I am connected at VMAs with vi-admin.

  Your partition you want to pull the bundle of newspaper are there enough space? Sometimes, the size of the file for this could be huge. To check the free space on the Service Console, use "vdf h", the v includes VMFS, while "df-h" excludes VMFS.

  So you might want to change the location where empty you these files.

  You can also manually run vm-support - w/vmfs/volume/guid. Where guid is the guid a volume with a lot of space.

  /etc/opt/VMware/vpxa/vpxa.cfg will actually show you where your logs are generated by default, and the number of files you have. Try to move / backup the files in/usr/lib/vmware/hostd/docroot/downloads. This contains all the files in package old newspapers. This should free up space to run the command vm-support.

  And Yes, you can try to activate SSH to see if that helps too.

  I'm a VMware ESXi start purple screen: 14 Exception PF world 9154.

  This server running exchange 2010 on vmware esxi 4.0.0 update 2 on an HP DL180 G6 server.

  I downloaded and installed year HP ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware ESXi 4.0 Update 2 patch to be able to monitor this server from my HP System Insight Manager server (which monitors all servers) (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en & cc = us & prodTypeId = 5351 & prodSeriesId = 1121516 & swItem = MTX-7ba9a9031d7e4a41ad65f038e0 & prodNameId = 3288134 & swEnvOID = 4040 & swLang = 8 & taskId = 135 & mode = 4 & idx = 1).

  The hotfix installation completed successfully. However, after that I restarted ESXi, I started getting this error PF Exception 14 with a bunch of numbers and codes.

  At this stage I don't know how I can fix. Any help will be grateful!

  In the meantime you can restore the previous version before upgrading. Press
  SHIFT + R when you get the hypervisor loading screen. You will be asked to OK rollback.

• Monitor a server HP ESXi 4 u1

  OK, I know that this topic was a million times, but after reading through those millions of messages - I don't see an answer.

  I have a HP DL380 G4 running ESXi 4 u1 and ten VMs virtual development perfectly.  I would like to monitor this server through our HP SIM 6 Server, but I don't know how.  I read on the filling of the WBEM credentials on the side of the SIM card, what I've done.  I retrieve useful but limited information about the material.

  I saw a download on the HP site for "HP ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware ESXi 4.0 Update 1.

  I guess (no jokes please) that would give me more details on the server running ESXi.  But many positions at HP say that there are NO agents for ESX/HPSIM and just use WBEM.

  Can someone help me here please.  I want to get as much information that can be done on the HP hardware I run ESXi.

• mpt2sas posts in /var/log/vmkernel.log?

  Hi I just noticed all four of my HP DL380 G8 ESXi hosts 5 are tons of these messages in the/var/log/vmkernel log.  All LUNS seems to be showing / work very well, but you wonder what the messages mean?  The hosts are connected to a HP P2000 G3 via direct SAS controllers.  Any ideas?  Thank you

  I am looking for a way to configure remote ILO on one of the hosts of our remote desktop. Operation 4.1 build 433742. Anyone have never configured remote ILO on a HP Proliant G6?  I have the utility of config that I use for physical Windows boxes online, but don't know if it will work in this scenario. Please let me know if anyone has experience!

  I have a dl380G7 with local storage (12 discs) running on vmware ESXi4.1. I would like to replace that with brand HP´s 4.1 4.1. The ESXi installed on a clean raid1. Is it easy to achieve? I assumed that since the data store is located on a separate raid10 resettlement should not have an impact on this raid.

  The "HP brand" ESXi is just ESXi with additional drivers and plugins.

  You can get these HP support page and install in the same way as a patch. This allows the 'migration' without any sort of reinstall or major process. What you need is the 'ESXi offline Bundle', the driver "NMI" and no driver NIC 10GbE applicable to your hardware.

• System tray incorrigible 8 - ECC memory

  We configure ESXi 4.1 with the latest patches applied on a brand new HP DL380 G7 with the latest FW and recent ESXi offline Bundle, which shows the problem of the ECC which you can see in the attached screenshot.

  We opened a record at HP and they told us nothing of the HP diganostics (IML + poll) shows no problem at all. Also, we have changed the bars of memory on Bank 8 which has not changed anything. HP said it seems to be a problem of ESXi displaying incorrect information.

  Is there a known issue with ESXi 4.1 showing invalid information?

  Do you have any suggestions?

  It seems to me that there is no hardware problem here and ESXi works correctly.

  The sensor name is "System board 8 memory - incorrigible ECC", its State is 'deassert"(i.e. not stated) and so the State of health is"normal. "  If the hardware in the server detects incorrigible ECC events, the sensor status will change to "assert" or "failure" said"or similar and health would be degraded or omitted (that is, if the server was still running).

  Attached is a screenshot of some other sensors reported this way, in this case, m a PowerEdge.

  In the vSphere Client, I can see the fan status, power and temperatures.

  But I do not see the status of the server P400i controller raid array.

  Should I install some agents? And where can I download it?

  You can either install the distribution HP ESXi or the last HP ESXi offline Bundle for VMware ESXi 4.1 if you have installed the 'original' version of VMware.

• Problem with ESXi crashing on

  Hi all, looking for a few tips, recently did an upgrade to vCenter 5.0 to 5.5 all seem to go well. So next i deployed ESXi 5.5 to a host of test (HP Proliant DL360 G5) using the custom HP, once again the upgrade image seems fine, I have now a mixture of 2 x 5.0 hosts and 1 x 5.5 host in my environment. Now, the problems I have are:

  1. I can see is more monitoring equipment in the vCenter on my 5.0 hosts, I get an error, "the service of monitoring equipment is not available on this host or does not" tried restarting the service of the CIM on the hosts but no chance, not yet been able to reboot the host. I will modernize these hosts to 5.5 Finally so I hope it's a compatibility problem between the vCenter in 5.5 and 5.0 hosts. My reasoning for this is that on my test host that I've updated to 5.5, I can see hardware monitoring and reporting works OK - with 1 exception which I elaborate on below...

  2. after my upgrade to 5.5 on my test host computer although the hardware monitoring works after every reboot of the CIM service host seems down, a few minutes storage components of my screen (storage and battery) server in the status tab of the hardware, but shortly after they both disappear If I go into the security profile and restart the service of the CIM on the host, and then click on "Update", under the condition of the equipment, the two batteries and storage return under supervision and as far as I can see that they stay there until the host is restarted, and the cycle starts again. I installed the last HP Offline bundles on the host.

  3. my biggest problem though is the following. After my upgrade to 5.5 on my test server, everything seems to work very well. However, it is the second morning in a row (had 5.5 running since Tuesday this week) that I came into the Office to find that my 5.5 test host is disconnected in my vCenter server, when it was connected and managed until I left the night before. I can not AT ALL on the host without having to reboot it completely. I tried:

  • SSH to the host
  • Live Console
  • Remove and readd in vCenter
  • client vSphere for vCenter Server
  • vSphere Client directly to the host
  • vCenter Webclient

  Whenever he gives me the different errors that my credentials are not valid or that the user name or password is incorrect, I use root credentials I know are correct, and if I reboot the host then I can connect to the host using one of the above methods using the same credentials I use now. Yesterday, I was able to connect to the host using the client vSphere that allows me to put it in maintenance mode and it reboot, this morning but my only option is a hard reset on the server.

  My VM on the host are available I can ping and RDP for them and they have full network access, but I can't manage the host on which they are sitting on. This isn't a problem now in my test configuration, but I won't go live until I've been overcome these bugs. The host responds to the Ping and the console directly on the face seems to be running and not crashed.

  I'm relatively new to ESX on this scale, so any advice would be warmly received.

  OK, I added a little more memory for the machine and another CPU, I had lying around and this solved my most problem machines to crash on.

  Also a restart of the other guests brought material followed back to life and the upgrade to 5.5 worked well on other machines with all the existing monitoring equipment.

  So it seems that some issues were down to compatibility were 'other' allocation of resources.
