Video port broken on HP Pavilion s3307c

The video port is broken on my HP Pavilion s3307c.  So, I installed a new compatible video card, but I can't work because the bios even points to integrated rather than the video card video.

The problem is, I can't access the bios to change to disable the on-board video settings because I have no video.

Does anyone know of a workaround?

Thank you very much for your help!

Jennifer

This is not a BIOS setting on my s3300t. The embedded video is disabled when a video card is well wedged in the PCI 16-bit (long) housing. Try re-allocation of places your card and make sure that you connect the monitor cable to a port on the new video card.

    Looking for help.

You are this posting in the wrong forum, this is a forum of the laptop and is a desktop system.

Yes, you can get a video card, install and use it.  However, you sure is that the video works is not, or is it possible that the video didn't come out because you have a larger problem as the system's not initialization and display at all, because of a sort of failure such as food or the card mother?

If you have a spare PSU, you can try exchanging it instead of the original.  If you have a spare video card, even a few old (especially some former) PCI worthless, that you can install to see if you get any screen output.  Note that you need to maybe use the CMOS clear jumper or remove the battery for 10 minutes, while the power supply is disconnected after adding a video card, or by deleting and trying to use the video again.

I don't know if the specifications of the two Councils are quite similar, you should look at the datasheet for your system and compare that against what ebay sellers asking them is capable of.   Generally if you have a processor socket 775 lines they list and your using the same chipset, you should be able to simply plug in the parts and windows must be able to start pretty far to plug-and-play all the minor differences.  This is the situation in which I expected, you can buy the replacement cards model you mentioned and it works perfectly except possibly having to install a driver or two, but I can't be sure without detailed specifications.  They are very close to the info, I have found, might even be just a 2nd revision of the same Council of PCChips where everything what they changed was a clock IC generator or something similar that would not do your use in any way, except that to be sure, you have the good bios when looking on the HP site for the models with this Council in there instead of the bios for your system model #. If they take even a different bios which they cannot.

  • Satellite P300-1GK - I can't use the S-video port

    Hello

According to the specifications of the laptop, I have a S-Video output. The problem is that there is something just in front. So I can't use it. Check the picture.

    http://img220.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p1010027s.jpg

    How can I do?

    Hello

Seems the specifications listed on the page are not entirely correct.
Satellite P300-1GK supports TV-out but NOT s-video and Composite port!

In addition, HDMI port output is available to connect the laptop to an LCD HDTV.
But some other models support the s-video and that's why you can see a place for s-video port in the lid of the laptop

    I hope I could bring a precision!

    Hello

Sorry, my A100 Tosh has a Geforce 7600, I don't know what is your GA.

But on mine, I have a NVidia Control Panel, where I can configure dualview,
normally, which allows me to choose between the builtin LCD and the external monitor (VGA Port).

When a TV is plugged and not recognized, I can apply recognition there.
Relative to the opening of the Panel, the TV is also available.

    Maybe I could help you.
If this isn't the case, note that the settings of windows your TV is not available.

  • Pavilion 500-070: VGA port broken on HP Paviliion

Recently, I had planned to put a few new parts (PSU, processor, graphics card) in my PC. I opened the folder to clean some dust out with compressed air. I closed it and I have no signal VGA connection to my monitor. I opened the box and messed with the port from the inside until it worked. A little later, the start of the port does not again and my previous dose did not. I tried the cable VGA and monitor with another computer, so I know they work.

Anyway, the VGA port on the back is damaged and it does not work. I called HP and because my computer is no longer under warranty, they said it will take more than $300 to fix and I'm not so interested in this possibility.

My question is whether, since I already ordered a graphics card, if I install a new graphics card, I will be able to connect the monitor directly into the card and be able to use my computer like this? Or is there an option that I need to be able to navigate? If it's the latter, I'll have to fix it or get a new motherboard.

I know that my computer is a bit old and I'm a little new to this, but any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!<>

Enter the system BIOS/UEFI parameters by repeatedly tapping on F10 key when starting upwards. In some cases, you will have to type the ESC key to access the boot menu, THEN press the F10 key.

I say you may need to disable the onboard graphics in the BIOS as BIOS may already be set to 'Auto' mode which automatically detects which graphics connector is being used and automatically use this adapter. But if it is specifically set to "integrated graphics", you will need to change it to 'Auto' or 'PCI-e '. I can't give you specific shows once you are in the BIOS, because the BIOS interfaces can vary considerably. But you should be able to navigate through the different sections and find the graphics settings, it is not so difficult. You can visit the BIOS settings before you make your purchase just to be sure that you are convinced that you will find the necessary parameters. Or, you can install the card and see how it goes, if you do not get a screen so you know that you should disable the graphic edge.

Another consideration is that you have only a 300W power supply which probably is not a PCI-e power connector. The PCI-e slot itself provides only 75W so I would limit your new card to 75W or less.

Still another consideration is that you will probably need to disable "Secure Boot"in the BIOS also.

IMHO, I think that replacing the motherboard would be unaffordable.

  • Can I install a 2nd video card on my HP Pavilion a6683w desktop PC to allow me to use 2 monitors?

I want to extend my desktop using 2 monitors.  My HP Pavilion a6683w Destop PC has only a port monitor.  I'm wanting to run 2 monitors on it and I was wondering if it is possible to install a 2nd video card (the existing one is a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430).

Here are the specifications of your desktop HP Pavilion a6683w. According to specifications, your computer uses an nVidia GeForce 6150SE integrated graphics card and also supports PCI Express x 16 graphics cards. Integrated graphics card is not available if a graphics card is installed. In addition, specifications, your computer has a 250 watt power supply. Most of the retail graphics cards will require a minimum of a 300 Watt power supply.

    From the information above, I think you have two options;

    (1) according to your needs, more an adapter USB-to-video, such as EVGA UV + UV39. This adapter is available on Newegg.com, Amazon.com, and as well as many EVGA.com to other places. It is possible that another brand/model will work as well. This solution is good for day trading, spreadsheets, word documents, web browsing, etc.

    (2) If you do heavy gaming or graphic treatment, I suggest an upgrade of power supply and graphics card. For more information on this topic, see Guide of Dave_G for a discrete video card selection .

  • Pavilion p6 - 2127c: video card Compatible hdmi for Pavilion p6 - 2127c

I have a Pavilion p6 - 2127c in my conference room, desktop computer connected to a TV 50 "flat on the wall. I would like to connect using an HDMI cable, but there is no HDMI port. What type of video card should I buy that is compatible with the office and for the videos and presentations (no game)? Thank you in advance for your help!

    Cmann225, welcome to the forum.

Here is a video card that should work with your computer.  However, you should check ASUS website to find out what power supply unit (PSU) is necessary.  It indicates that 75W is required, but it is the power supplied by the PCI Express x 16 slot.  This means that there is no need an additional power connector.  The power supply of the computer is 300W.  Also, check to make sure that the card does not require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a standard BIOS with ASUS.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • Re: Tecra A4 - can I record something due S-video port?

    Hello

I have a s-video connector on my Tecra A4 laptop. I have it plugged into a TV decoder / recorder provided by my ISP, but I get nothing on my other than the windows desktop screen.

I don't have a TV in the apartment where I have the internet connection if I want to use my PC to view the content and program shows that I want to record. Then I will bring the decoder / recorder at my place in the mountains where I don't have a TV but not internet access.

Is it possible to receive the s-video on my Tecra A4 laptop screen? If so, how?
    Thank you
    Sean

    Hi Sean!

Sorry, but the port S-video on Tecra A4 and all laptops, they are known to me are only equipped with a S-video * output * port.
This means that you can only extend or clone display on an external monitor. It s not a port of entry where you can save something.

If you want to save something you need to buy an external TV card. You can connect it via the USB port and the external TV card, you can connect the TV to record videos on your laptop.
Ask your local computer dealer for this. They should be able to make an offer for it.

    Good bye

  • How to use the video port with Vista on Qosmio G30

Im running windows vista Ultimate edition.
How to use the monitor in port?

The Composite (in the port monitor) port is placed to the right.
With the video component cable software plug-in delivered a CATV or satellite box can be connected to the computer to watch channels.
You can for example use the Qosmio Player or Windows Media Center to watch other channels.

As much as I know the ultimate Vista supports Windows Media Center, Windows Media Center HDTV.
You should read some more details on your new operating system!

Yes, I have two questions about my PC.

Yes, the power is 300 watts. Minimum 400 watts are for full power to retail graphics cards. The map provided by HP was custom designed to meet the requirements of power weaker and is is not the same as a retail card. HP has traditionally used Bestec and Lite-on original UPE.

To install a gaming grade graphics card, you will need to replace your power supply. The Corsair CX500 and CX600 are highly recommend and forum favorite. Further, these power supplies are only slightly larger than a block of power SUPPLY HP stock and are known to adapt. Power supply Idleness will put you back on the $50 - $75. I have hp pavilion 15 n-246se and I tried hard to set the usb port 3, but I can't... it worked before, but now it no longer works

    Thanks in advance

    Hi @sohaibadel,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook 15-n246se and problems with USB 3.0 does not properly. First of all, you need to remove all USB devices.

In Device Manager uninstall everything that is listed in the USB devices. Restart the computer after the uninstall, it must be reinstalled automatically. Then put in the USB devices and it should update all drivers.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that may need updating.

I would like to know how this happens.

    Thank you.
