EtherChannel is ISR2900

Hello friends,

I configured Etherchannel in Cisco 2951 ISR router using the built-in port G0/1 and 0/0. This works perfectly. The question is why don't I see any output on the etherchannel details when I run the show command. IOS version: 15.0

Hello

It looks like CSCtx30338. You are not L3, but this bug can apply. What you have at the other end, it shows the etherchannel correctly?

Symptom:
Output for ports from L3 EtherChannel displays does not correctly.
Conditions:
The CLI has given are incomplete and does not properly.
'display the etherchannel '.
'display the etherchannel port-channel interface '.
"display the interface f0/0 etherchannel."
Workaround solution:
Can use other work CLI for etherchannel details
'show interface port-channel '.

  • EtherChannel does not support on 400 7600 - SIP

    Hello

I'm a very big dilemma. I have 1 Gbps connection to my ISP. I'm under BGP to establish connectivity with the provider PE.

Just to inform you, I have redundant connections on the connection of 2 - Cisco 3750 (main & secondary link) next to service provider and there are 4 routers for 2 services (primary and secondary each for 2 services) now use on services - 1A applications increases and reaches 900 ~ 950 MB/s, is not on the impact of the services-2 I pushed the 2 services via secondary link traffic. I have attached ppt for some knowledge

Until a few weeks back the use was about 750 in the direction of entry and 700 Mbps in the exit direction of the WAN port on the service routers 1, but now the use of entry began to reach 900 ~ 950 MB/s in the direction of entry.

I have 400 7600 - SIP (void crack-5XGE-SPA) on the routers [services for Qos ] are related to the switches. I spoke with the service provider, and they said that they would consider more and while I thought to do the first aggregation of ports-2 between the provider of Service & 3750 switch device and an another 2-port aggregation between 3750 Switch & services-1 (Cisco7606) router.

There is no problem to create aggregation Service Provider betn ports device & switch 3750. It does not go between 3750 & services-1 switch (Cisco7606) router according to Cisco aggregation port document being not supported on 7600-SIP 400.

It takes time for the service provider to provide 10 port of concert. I WS-X 6548-GE-TX module Services-(Cisco7606) 1 router. So, I thought WS-X 6548-GE-TX router connection ports on the router with switch and create port channel between Them. But I wonder how would function QOS can be used.

So I need a Council if WS - X 6548-GE-TX ports support QOS with Etherchannel.

    Your advice will be appreciated

The 3750 is a layer 3 switch.  Could you change the design to allow links to layer 3 through him?

    What get a 10Gbe for the 3750 and your 7600 module (s)?

  • LACP. Recommendation of etherchannel, PaGP or static

    Hi all

Some time ago I have red somewhere that the recommended way to create portchannels is to use the static method 'on' configuration. However, I am not able to find this information. Anyone here have a reference to the recommended method to configure portchannels?

    I found the following document:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/switches/LAN/catalyst6500/IOS/12.2Sx/best/practices/recommendations.html#wp1046803

This document does not have an explicit statement that the method is preferable. Could someone help me with this please?

    Hi Michael,

I would stay away from MODE in chanenling, a large part of the time that it leads to the switching loop.

On the other hand, PAGP/LACP allows dynamically negotionation of etherchannel a being owners and the other open standard. LACP even allows active / standby group of several links and using some of them, but the others are in standby mode incase any member string fails.

I'm not sure if it is registered anywere you can use on PAgp LACP or Pagp on LACP.

If the grouping between the cisco devices, so we prefer to use the Pagp as is the owner of cisco.

    Kind regards

    Reem.

I intend to use existing 3 onboard 10/100/1000 ports router 2911 for a configuration of trunk and etherchannel. Trunk connects to local lan conncts and etherchannel for remote sites. My doubt is can I configure 2911 as trunk ports on board and implement etherchannel? From now on, there will be no routing configuration in 2911.

    Concerning

    Siva K

    Hi Siva,

    > As of now, there is no routing configuration in 2911.

use a LAN switch for this or an etherswitch module installed in routers C2911

routed ports can be used only routed or bridiging (IRB) ports, you cannot configure the as trunks of L2, you can use them as a L3 port channel but not as a port-channel trunk L2.

  • How a loop shape in a misconfigured Etherchannel?

    Dear friends,

It is a question frequently observed and practically proven that if both switches are interconnected by a number of parallel links that are grouped in an Etherchannel on a switch (of course, using the mode on ) while being unbundled on the second switch, a loop of Layer2 may well be created. However, I do not understand the exact mechanism of the formation of this loop.

I am well aware of the basic principles behind: I know that STP treats interface Port-Channel as a single interface, and all Member links grouped in that Etherchannel share the same role/State PLEASE. I also understand that a frame of broadcast/multicast/unknown unicast sent by a port in the Etherchannel will reach the switch in front and cross flooded all the other links, arriving finally at the switch with the Etherchannel configuration.

And right there, that is where my understanding ends: the framework came back and its destination is still unknown. However, from the point of view of the switch, the frame came in through a specific Port-Channel interface. If this switch flooding the frame, there he will flood through all ports except the port through which the framework was, which means that the frame will never sent through the Port-Channel. How the loop is created, then?

Thank you so much for helping me with this!

    Best regards

    Peter

    Peter,

The packages will be flooded with all interfaces for unknown broadcast/unicast packets with the exception of the interface when the flood came.

In a 2 switch topology, switch A (which has the bundle) will flood the package on the members of the group waiting B switch to receive the package on its package.

However, switch B will not receive the package on one of its physical interfaces and may experience flooding to B switch off its other physical interface connected which causes the STP loop.

    Kind regards

    Edison.

  • Nexus5548up - is my etherchannel really 20G?

    Hi guys,.

Im having trouble checking an etherchannel on my nexus and 6500...

    Now.

I have a layer of distribution VSS (2 x 6500) and a bunch of nexus switches plugged.

The link move as 1 x 10g to a switch and 1 x 10g to another in an etherchannel. (MEC)

Even on the VSS, its an etherchannel.

What I can't understand is if its really straight up to 20G because of the x 2 links in the GUY.

An int see the watch always 10G but it shows the members... With two members, it should be a 20G GUY agreggated...

I had put my statement of BS to 20000, but I don't think it really matters anyway...

It goes the same for the end of 6500. Its a 10G UP UP channel ports. No mention of 20G.

How can I be sure that it is infact running 20G 100%

    Thank you

A given channel no matter what unique conversation will only flow in a single interface of the channel so your total thruput for a given conversation will be 10 gig.  You have 20 gig of pipeline to push all traffic as a part of the traffic goes down a single interface and some will go to the bottom of the other interface according to arr. algorithim you choose.

  • 2 GB Cisco EtherChannel Cisco 3750 x 2960S

    Hello

Im trying to configure an EtherChannel between my stack of 3750 and my stack of 2960S.

    I have 2 3750 x in the form of battery. (2 switches).

    I have 4 2960 s in the form of battery. (4 switches).

I need to create a channel of 2 GB between them. My heart is the 3750 and my stack of 4 2960 s is on another floor, so I want to create a channel of 2 GB between them.

I know that you can create a PO between them, but what I want to do is to create a channel of 2 GB between them that run at the same time, active on both ports of 1 GB.

Is this possible and how? This is my current setup until now:

    Thank you...

    Not possible AFAIK.
LACP will provide examples of the use of load balancing and redundancy that is good enough for most.
Other then that you would have to watch the 10GB uplinks between switches for more bandwidth.

  • JOINT EtherChannel Question

In the configuration for the METHOD guide, it states:

To ensure that the same traffic to the two data ports on each JOINT-2, you must set the

same EtherChannel index to two data ports on each of the JOINT-2, even if they are in the different

    EtherChannel groups.

Can someone tell me how to change the index EtherChannel? I have successfully data assigned to a port channel ports, but I can't figure out how to change the EtherChannel index.

I would recommend to re - initialize the two JOINT in SW2 from scratch and try again. OR as a test, you can let go of etherchannel and configure one of them to test things. I recommend also to keep the parameters of tree cover by default and does not change the cost, etc..

    Hi Gillian,

What you describe is what this bug was introduced in the address.  8.4, the CLI enabled one is used to configure an etherchannel on the GigE ports 4 module.  9.0/9.1 removed this feature in the CLI that the feature is not supported on the module.  Bug CSCtq62715 is the bug used to make this change.

  • 3650 LACP etherchannel suspended

This new series of 3650 has been bugs me for a year. A lot of things that used to work is not now.

Over the last weekend, I upgraded a 3560 X to a 3650. The etherchannel seems to behave differently in 3650.

    Example,

    Interface Port-channel10
    switchport trunk allowed vlan 17.23
    switchport mode trunk

    interface GigabitEthernet1/0/11
    switchport trunk allowed vlan 17.23
    switchport mode trunk
    active in mode channel-group 10

    interface GigabitEthernet1/0/12
    switchport trunk allowed vlan 17.23
    switchport mode trunk
    active in mode channel-group 10

Now when this config is used in a 3560 X and the terminal is in mode standby (not to communicate LACP) ports go into I - autonomous State.

The same configuration is now placed in a same scenario 3650, and ports through s - suspended state.

This may not seem to be a big problem, until I try to send WOL for the terminal. Autonomous State, he will answer, but in the s state effectively the line protocol is down the WOL packet (suspended), cannot get there.

I was really disappointed after a year through versions 3.3.3 to 3.7.1 there is still funny issues with the 3650 series.

I hope someone is able to advise if they have a simple fix for this problem.

    Hello

Add the command no channel of port authority - disable the port-channel interface and this should do what you want for example, interface member will in particular (I) rather than the State Suspended (s) if it does not PDULACP. You may have to bounce the port-channel interface for that to be taken into account.

Take a read of the command in the section configuration LACP autonomous or independent Mode of the configuration for more details guide.

    Hello Manu,

If the switches are stacked, they are logically a switch.  You cannot use portchannel to connect one switch to another.

    You're basically looping ports together.

    Hello

I've never used one before 4948E switch or 10 Gb ethernet also.  We will receive several switches of 4948E time for use as a standalone lan for video multicast between encoders and receivers.  My question is, can I I use two port 10 GbE on a 4948E switch to link to two 10 Gigabit Ethernet on 4948E another switch ports and those who have the ports configured as an etherchannel link?

I did a little research on the internet and I have not seen examples of 10GbE etherchannel.  I do not have switches yet, so I can't test.

Thanks for any idea that you can provide.

You can, no different from any other interface speed. The same configured as any another etherchannel.

    I appreciate your help.

Thank you and have a nice day

    Hi Sarah,.

A portchannel can be a layer 2 portchannel or a portchannel layer-3 and not a combination of both.  In your config file switch is just a purchase order on the router layer 3 and Layer 2.

Then, given that you are connected to a router, I guess you want a purchase order later-3.  In this case under the po interface add an IP address on the same segment as the side of the router.

    SW

    Interface Port - Channel 1

    IP 199.199.199.11 255.255.255.0
