everyone always Forms 2.3?

Hello
We have upgraded an installation very very old in sql * form 2.3 (Yes, he has more than 20 years!) with oracle7 for forms 11g release 2 with server oracle 11g, using a tool developed by our team.
is there anyone still use Forms 2.3? We want to share experiences.

Thanks in advance,
Fernando

Hi Fernando,

We have updated (over the years) using the standard Oracle tools from 2.3 to 3.0 to 4.5 to 6i.

It was all character mode.

We then used software from ORCLToolbox called Forms API master, which comes with a feature script similar to JDAPI.
This software is relatively inexpensive and is delivered with a sample script to change the version 2 in pl/sql triggers.
We had changed several triggers in PL/SQL 2.3 manually over the years, but this tool allowed us to convert the few remaining 2.3 steps in pl/sql, even if she wasn't perfect, and we had to find all forms that do not have to compile and to fix bugs.

As a result of the use of this tool, we migrated using the standard updgrade of 6i to 10 g and 11 g to GR 11, 2.
Good number of our forms still work as the character mode versions with the limit of navigation on the field, so its use mouse is limited.

We are currently rewriting our systems now bottom up with diagrams of database new forms and many extensions of CCP of mouse-based:

Put a calendar icon within a field, which sends the back key-listval to form through a custom event.
Put the guests of example within a field that disappear on typing.
Put a patient banner on several screens (we are in health care).
Superimpose several widgets with their equivalents of the swing.
Use a drop-down list of AutoComplete.
Put the headers in the forms have a gradient background in modern research.

hope this helps

  • Order of members in a data form

    Hello

Say, in the form of Page axis data design e.g.Test, I select the members in the A of the order, the B, C, D, E and save the form. When I run the form, Member of the page axis 'Test' would be A, B, C, D, E.
My requirement is I want the data always form to show me a first member by default every time I run the form and not the Member that I used in my previous session(before logoff).

Is it possible to always by default the drop-down list for a particular Member?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

You will need to set the display options for all users of the user. For this. Goto file-> preferences
    Click Schedule
    Tab 'Display Options' goto.
Update 'To remember members of the selected page' on 'no '.

Similarly, to do this at the level of the application, log in as administrator.
Click the "Administration" menu and then select "Application settings."
    Select "Application perceived by default"
    Tab 'Display Options' goto.
Update 'To remember members of the selected page' on 'no '.

Let me know if it helps.

  • Rotation tool rotates counterclockwise, when he must turn to the right.

Here in the United Kingdom, I thought when we have something turn of 90 degrees, the object would turn clockwise by 90 degrees.  For example, I have a standing lamp post in front of me.  If I rotate it 90 degrees with the axis, the basis, I expect keel right that I have in front, in other words, it rotates 90 degrees to the right, swing to there base.

However, when I go to Illustrator, create a new object, double-click the Rotate tool and type '90' and 'Enter'... and the object rotates 90 degrees to the left...

I don't even know if it's supposed to be like this, I searched online and could not find similar problems, so I don't know if everyone always turns things to the left by default.  I however find it paradoxical and would like to know if there is a setting that I can change or if there is a way to reverse this trend, so that I can rotate objects clockwise by default?

I look forward to any comments is on this...

  • 10 ways to suck to the deliverability of emails

Why write about the ways to suck? Because everyone always talks about how not suck not - and, I admit it, I put on Jack twist to a SlideShare presentation recently posted by one of my product directors on how to fail at marketing project management. In any case, go back to sucking the deliverability of emails. Why email deliverability? Let's say it's a topic timely for me - that's my story and I stick to it.

Thus, 10 ways to suck email deliverability (in no particular order):

    1. Lists to buy - buy many, many lists - download the ad-hoc and blast, blast, blast!
    2. If people will not open your emails, just put'em in one program and continue to send to them and never give up - otherwise why would they call it automation?
    3. Sender score? What do you mean sender score? You say that someone is marking my shipment?
    4. Don't bother people who want to submit a form on your site with the fine print what you will do with their email address - nobody reads such things anyway.
    5. Welcome, shmelcome! Who has the time to understand what people are interested? Just send it to everyone and they will understand.
    6. Test your email is a waste of time - seriously. Just write, slapping a gibberish of footer on this bad boy and send, not much.
    7. Speaking of footers, if asked to kill or to hide the footer gibberish, like Nike (and do it).
    8. That's what you say questions - don't be boring on background images, blah, blah, blah - who cares what it looks like!
    9. No matter what you say, it comes from the air hot and BOOM! Everyone opens it.
    10. Cards are as little permission slips - grab'em upward at your event, slam these data into your system and blows it away. Duh.  It is said you can do on the Internet and you can never put anything that is not true on the Internet.

What other ways found to suck to the deliverability of emails? I specifically made this question so I could recognize 'useful' comments - points, anyone?

  • IPhone-Android text problem

I had a problem when a group of friends sends SMS and I do not get them from one of the individuals in the group. This group consists of 3 iPhones and Android 1. I know issues when people spend to have an iPhone and then go to an Android but forget to take of iMessage, but it is not part of the case. We all had the same type (iPhone and Androids) for a very long time who have nobody in this group never cross the line and changing. This question has been which is rampant in us for a long time.

    User - iPhone

    User B - iPhone

    User C - iPhone

    User D - Android

User A sends the text that everyone always sees.

    User B replies, everyone sees

User C responds, everyone EXCEPT the user sees A

    User D answers, everyone sees

    The user responds, everyone sees

The user never sees any response user D sends. The user has, B, and C can send each other text without any problem in a group of different text (removing D user) and all is well. The user A and user D can text each other and all is well. User A has other groups text mixed with iPhones and androids that causes no problems. any help is greatly appreciated.

A group that contains a non - iOS device is a MMS. It has nothing to do with iMessage. A multimedia Message, as an SMS is a function of carrier. There are no settings for SMS on the iPhone, but there is a setting for MMS messaging and Group Messaging. These two must be on for these to work. If the user does not receive messages from the user D, then the user must check with the carrier so that they have a SMS/MMS profile on their account, based on the description you provide.

  • Toshiba Satellite: Toshiba Satellite - no sound

I'm so tired of trying the same thing over and over again in order to get the sound on my Toshiba Satellite laptop. When I try to play music, everything seems to work fine, except no sound from internal speakers or headphones. In the device Mgr it was simply listed as yellow device-no high definition audio marks, etc. I noticed that when I stay on the audio icon, it says headphones instead of speakers and it keeps defaulting to 67% in volume. It has been activated and of course Windows is unable to find a better driver. I used each troubleshooting tool that I could find. Finally, I decided to uninstall the device HD Audio and download Realtek audio device. Well, all of a sudden my "speaker" icon returned instead of headphones. I'm so excited until I noticed that my newly installed audio device has already been set to 67 percent in volume and my despair, I see things playing and that this device works properly, permits, etc. etc. I tried the activation of the service, I tried command prompt, reset the defaults in the bios. I recently installed a different operating system, so no restore beyond beginning of the problem points and no option for total recovery. I went through the Microsoft tools and forums, Toshiba, Realtek, Conexant and so on. I don't know because my teenage son decided to take off the stickers on the back, so far as I know is exact Toshiba Satellite model laptop. Everyone always tells me the same solutions, but, first of all, I'm pretty tech savvy and knew to try in the first place most of their suggestions and also knew that it did not help. It's so frustrating because you'd think there was someone out there who could tell me why I have no sound. And Yes, each external switch, etc I can find, the volume control is turned on.

    Help!

    Hello

I don'r think they could not help. Anyway, please try to activate the playback device

    1. a click right icon "speaker" (right)
    2. Select playback device
    3. click right speakers
    4 activate and as default
    5. click apply/OK

    Best regards and good luck.

Note: I think that this machine could be to less than 6 years and can be taken in the hardware problem account. Please check with a repairman.

  • Send/no not email notification sound

If I send an email from my computer to my phone I get it in a minute, but without any notification that the LED. Not even if I got the notification on settings sound and the increase in the volume of sound.

E-mail is another story. The phone says it sends it, but last night I ended up going to bed after a few hours without having received two emails from my phone to my computer, both with photos. This morning, I was finally getting the emails and the funny thing was, the sent time would have been okay, even if my computer has not actually received them at that time. They must have been in the limbo of At & t for an hour or two?

This morning same thing. I took a picture, he sent to my computer, and when opening Gmail, he says he sends (in red), but I simply don't get it. What is a phone problem or a problem with At & t? It is a problem of bad, I'll tell you that. I can't wait a few hours for a person to receive an email.

In the meantime, I'll email me without a photo and see if that goes through immediately.

Yes, I entered my Gmail, not pop3 account.

I spoke with TS and this is what they had me do. It turns out that the notification was on silent.

I opened the home screen, click the e-mail icon (no gmail in the apps), settings, notifications.

Only, I had turned on my notifications under settings, sounds... which as you say, had nothing to do with email notification.

I'll also look and see if there are settings in gmail label application, but for now I have audio notification.

And no idea on the email sending so long. I tried again and am emails to the right, so I think that it was not the phone, but the problem with At & t that everyone always complains around here.

And now, while trying to send this vid resized through it takes forever again... weird.

  • Can a single USRP 2920 tansmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) at the same time?

I know a USRP can be a transmitter and a receiver, but a single unit can send and receive at the same time?  The application in question involves the sending of an RF signal to a label of RFID and followed by the response of the tag with a single reading USRP.  I heard that the link between the channels can cause significant on because bleeding that is not insulation between the tracks, but could not find an example showing simultaneous Tx and Rx.  Is there an example or documentation that I'm missing?

    Thank you!

    Kristen Heck

Academic ESF - middle of Southeast

    Hello Kristen,

The USRP can send and receive at the same time.  You have because there are bleed more because of the lack of isolation, but documentation of the USRP is always formed and includes no information about this.  Here are the 2 screws that allows you to make simultaneous TX/RX.  Just to set the IP address in the two screws to the IP address of your USRP and run them.  You may need to change the rate of IQ and the frequencies of your application, but this very basic example should be a good starting point.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be happy to help you.

  • When and what can expect to happen to my computer after the end of support for windows XP?

    What is Pageheap?

The answer to your direct question, when you think that say you, is a Google search away.

-It is not supported to Microsoft for an operating system you probably have to worry.

It is your own ability to stay static, I want a computer faster, better equipment, a new printer, scanner, camera, etc.

The manufacturer of the software or hardware that you use every day will probably abandon Windows XP well before the April 2014 date when Microsoft stops by releasing the same critical patches for Windows XP.

Their new printers will have only Windows Vista drivers, maybe just Windows 7.

Their new scanners, cameras, etc. will be the same.

I don't see the major software companies (AutoDesk, Apple, Adobe, etc.) continues to produce products that would work on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 and what comes next in 2014.

Everyone always loves to find a single entity to blame for their reluctance to change with technology - but usually it's just the changing world overall - not a single instance of it.

Having said that - there are many people who still use Windows 98 twelve down on the line.

They can't see certain things on certain web pages, cannot use certain devices, they might be able to pick up at their local drug/warehouse, even store and using the latest versions of major software packages are probably a lost - cause but they do very well in their microcosm.

So - it mainly depends on you and your ability to do not change.

In light of your previous question, this web page may be one that is useful to you:

  • Can't get rid of an audio alert

I get a noisy (compared to the volume on other things) alert when I hit caps lock.  Can be linked to the icon of the RealTek Audio Manager that suddenly appeared on my search bar.  Well, suddenly appeared after I put the book on my keyboard by pressing a button and maybe something light? Can't turn off the RealTek or get rid of the caps lock alert.  What should I do?  What is RealTek?

Glance, Neats, whenever you have a computer problem (of any kind), it may be something of several things is actually causing your problem.

As you have probably just find out for yourself, by throwing a book (of considerable weight) on the top of your keyboard.

This is the problem of the "human error". The source of most computer problems! The solution to this problem is to adopt a more careful approach... of everything you do in or around any computer, IE:... Do not these stupid like this, errors like you could do more damage to any computer that you can negotiate on.

Who will pay for the damage? Not me! You made the mistake, you pay for it!

The 'software' aspects, then set problems... and, they can be numerous enough to name them all, but... they are caused either by the 'human error' element, a BAD download or a CD/DVD of marketability of evil that one gets the software on the incompatible nature of material/set-up of your computer.

1... the "human error", again, is responsible for nearly all of this kind of problems, INABILITY to read the Instructions properly! (Everyone in a hurry of the Almighty, to get their computer to work with the operating system or no matter what software they TRY to install who can not be bothered to do a bit of reading beforehand... to have a better understanding/understanding of the 'what' they doing.)

2... the software! Yes, I know, everyone always says... "They did the download properly, or"follow the guests properly!"  YET, how is it that they do not have a (huge!) problem with the software! First of all, they DO NOT read the file 'README.tx '! (all the bits of software I know, has one in the Constitution of the software FILES is.) The file README.txt CAN give you the BEST clue as to 'why', it does NOT work correctly

It may be a "problem of conflict" with a certain BRAND, a sound card / sound or graphic/video card... EVEN the SPECIFIC motherboard you can use in your computer! The "not compatible" aspect, that is! No matter what ever the OS of your computer can be and, YES, it could even be the OS you are using IS causing these problems, despite my comes to say, AFTER ALL, the OS itself is a SOFTWARE!

3... the material. Not much wrong here, IF the computer was working OK before the problem started. Reason? The computer is USUALLY implemented correctly, while there SHOULD be no problems with the hardware side of things. Of course, the hardware may FAIL. It is not BUILT to last excessive power will KILL everything, finally! Even a "short circuit" can do a lot of damage... without actually know you about it!

Which leaves just with my first TWO "scenarios"... to the choice as to what is causing your computer problem.

Take your time! And learn 'how' things go together!

Next "reference point" is the manufacturer. All in all computer has a manufacturer. A Web site! You KNOW what is on your computer, to access THE following. And, to do it properly.

You should know 'where', you can get the DRIVERS you need, this includes ALL the motherboard drivers, the last PATCH/update of your SOFTWARE/HARDWARE may need.

Here, you ALSO take the time... to know 'HOW' every website WORKS, is put in place, so that you can find everything you need to find! (You might be surprised!, how so many people CAN NOT find whatever it is they are after... because they did not "get a CLUE when it comes to the functioning of these web sites!) And, accordingly, to download the drivers/updates / fixes WRONG! Once more, the element 'human error' rears its hideous head.

The Belarc Advisor (it is a 'gift' to use)... for what is in your computer. It's also great to 'recover' a LOST key Code. (Most of them, anyway!)

Get "intimate" with your computer, play with him, know how far you can push to learn what 'limitations' learn 'how' the operating system really works... NEVER TAKE THINGS "GRANTED", with her!

You make all 'up', you are well on your way... to have a computer that will ALWAYS work and is sitting not slowed down because you don't know how to fix it.

  • Vista 32 bit does not start after the mode 'sleep'

I have Vista Ultimate 32 bit SP2.  I put the computer in standby mode and the next day morning tapped the keyboard space bar to wake him up.  I have a Logitech G15 game keyboard with an LCD display, it began to rise, then I noticed all the keyboard lights were flickering.  The system never started and the screen remains black.  I took the cover off my PC and noticed that fans have been "forced" for about 1 second then remains off for a period of about 5-7 seconds before the pulse on once again.  This is repeated.  I pressed on the power switch for the computer for 20 seconds, without result.  I disabled the power supply directly for about 20 seconds, he turned back and have the same pulse.  Then I unplugged the power cord to supply POWER, same year, same net effect.  I've checked all my connections, etc., everything is in order.  I got an iPod touch connected to the computer via the USB port before sleep.  But I perfrmed this function several times one never had a problem.  I of course got the thing first USB when I started my problem.  I guess it's one thing to the BONE, but what's my line?  Thanks much for any help!

A little late on the answer, but he had nothing to do with food. I was able to solve the problem by turning off the computer, unplug and burst the battery from the motherboard, let it rest a bit, then put it back together and bam, I'm back in business. I think it's a problem between the motherboard BIOS and Hibernate commands put off by * Vista and the only way to stop the loop is the above afformentioned. Everyone always wants to blame the food for these issues... Now PS can cause really strange but common problems...

  • DVD drive can not read some discs

So I have scowered the Internet trying to find an answer to my problem, but everyone always seems to have the same problem except theirs is slightly different so their solutions don't work for me.

My problem is that my DVD drive (f) works perfectly fine except when I put the CD - RW that I used to save files to my old Toshiba laptop, my laptop (also a Toshiba) seems to ignore my CD drive (d), but which has never really bothered before.

So my DVD player works perfectly fine for other CD or DVD that I put in, it's only the CD that I used on my old laptop. When I put one in, I can hear it trying to read the CD, then it's just a few stops, when I double click to open the drive, it just comes up with a message saying "Please insert a disc into drive F:."

The CD works perfectly well on my dads, which is also a Vista laptop so I do not understand why mine doesn't seem to like their reading.

Any help would be greatly appreciated I need the contents of the CD to my university work.

    Thank you.

    Hello

CD have a tolerance + - and your must read on the edge out of the tolerance of these discs. They can be given
However, it is generally more economical to replace the disk that can or mentioned read those.

    Several good info here:
    http://Club.cdfreaks.com/

Notes on the troubleshooting and repair of readers of compact disks and CD-ROM Drives

Maybe you can make new copies of your dad that would work in your computer.

  • Z30 Z30 blackBerry purchase

I currently have a curve 8380. I need to upgrade & everyone always says do not get the z30. I talk to other phone users. They tell me to get the samsung s5 because it would be easier & better phone. I don't know anyone who uses the z30 to ask how they like it. I am a customer of verizon. I just need help to decide which phone to use. Even sales at verizon do not recommend the blackberry. Help

Sales at Verizon get incentives to sell Android and iPhone, just like any other carrier.

Yes, I'm biased because I use the Z30, but I'll tell you this: the Z30 is equally capable in almost all areas such as the S5 (and its much better sound speakers). Even people who are not big fans of BlackBerry are impressed with the Z30. If you really need convincing, how about Googling some comparison between the Z30 tests and other phones. YouTube is full of them. You will not be disappointed if you get a Z30 (which is a BlackBerry actually, I would recommend people to test head-to-head against other brands).

I hope that I helped you make your choice.
